Smash Master
Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console has been out for over a year now, and has caught the attention of the media all over the world. Downloading old games for a minimal prize to play in their original version, without having to use the old system it was designed for? Can't get much better than that. Well Nintendo is reaching for that goal, and is currently doing an alright job. It has room for improvement, but it's a very good start nonetheless.
This thread will introduce you to these games, the ones you have played in your past and the ones you have missed out. The amazing ones and the not-so-amazing ones. I'll help inform you on the titles to hit and miss, and the latest Virtual Console news. Expect updates for all regions that I can get info on (Yes, this includes PAL).
If you have any questions, please ask me through PM, I can't guarantee you I'll notice your posts in this thread.

Virtual Console News -
This will include mostly Virtual Console news, but it may also include WiiWare as they both share the same idea.
SEGA MasterSystem and GameGear Coming January 25, 2008 - You heard right. We are finally getting new systems to appear on the Virtual Console. The SEGA MasterSystem and SEGA GameGear will be appearing on the NTSC Virtual Console coming the next few months (Not sure about the PAL). The Master System is just anothing SEGA console, but the Game Gear was SEGA's version of the GameBoy. I don't know much about these consoles, but I want to try the Sonic games for the Game Gear. Are they any good?
The first few games to come out have been announced as Fist of the North Star (600 Wii Points) and Fantasy Zone (500 Wii Points), but this is in Japan. These games will probably come out in the NTSC regions and PAL, but SEGA themselves said that all titles will sell for 500 Wii Points. We'll see what's up with that soon enough.
Brawl Featuring "Masterpieces" January 25, 2008 - Brand new to the Wii, and to Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature a thing called "masterpieces." What these will be is playable demos of games available on the Virtual Console. These will only last for a few minutes, basically acting as teasers to make you want to download the full version of the game on the Wii Shop Channel. The confirmed "masterpieces" are the following: Super Mario Bros., Ice Climber, Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Super Metroid, and Star Fox 64. You may unlock different demos, but which ones and how is unknown.
Also, Japan not only got those, but also Mother 2 and Fire Emblem. What does this mean for the rest of us? Well, nothing. But it does give us a glimmer of hope for games like Mother 2 or Fire Emblem to make their English debut.
Duck Hunt... Fake? January 14, 2008 - Kotaku gives their idea on the Dunk Hunt fiasco. They bring up some good points, as I personally didn't know that the Shooting Range on Wii Play was supposed to be Duck Hunt, but meh. This doesn't disprove it, but still don't keep your hopes up.
Duck Hunt WiiWare? (January 14, 2008) - Truly not something I take into interest, but for you guys maybe so. Someone at Hudsonsoft stated they found a disc in their office, and on it was a Wii Game called "NEW! Duck Hunt." None of this really makes sense, as in why would a WiiWare game be on a disc; why would it be in Hudsonsoft's office in the first place?
I wouldn't believe this for a second, but in the link I gave you (in the title of this article), there is actually a video of someone playing it. It really looks like too much trouble to be a hoax, but you never know these days. Though, if it is real, I think that while the sounds are nostalgic, I don't like them. Seems like it was ripped strait from the original Duck Hunt, but whatever. What do you think?
Golden Eye Not Virtual Console Bound? (January 7, 2008) - Recently a site called XBox Evolved made an article saying that Golden Eye (a popular Nintendo 64 title) was heading to the XBox Live Arcade later this year. For those of you uniformed, XBox Live Arcade is Microsoft's version of the Virtual Console, but usually changing the games to play online. It later mentioned that they will be getting Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark as well.
All three of these where immensely popular titles back in the day, and most anticipated titles for the Virtual Console now. But with this, is it possible that Nintendo will have no rights to these titles, or will it appear on both? (XBox Live Arcade has some of the same titles as on the Virtual Console, such as Sonic the Hedgehog.) This is still up in the air at this point.
New Info! Greeneggsnsam made a post saying that Nintendo and Microsoft could not agree on the subject, so it is not coming out on the XBox Live Arcade. Does this mean it will come out on the Virtual Console? That's foolishness if you take that as a confirmation, but it definitely is good news for the fans of these games.

Virtual Console Reviews -
I, Sariku, also review some of the Virtual Console games. Now, I don't do them all, I don't have that kind of money. What I do is choose the ones people will most likely be tempted to buy, good or bad, and give my opinion on them. I do accept gifts, but I am looking into just writing reviews for the games I own on other consoles, thanks for the idea from the other members who suggested that.

I may add more to this, but I am probably not going to give a list of all releases. The reason is that it would be long and tedious, and stretch this post to unneeded lengths. I may make a list of upcoming titles though, just give me feedback on this thread. Thanks guys.
