Try it on practice mode against large opponents first like DDD, DK, Bowser and/or Ganon etc. Then move down till you get the hang of it.

I used to do basic brawl when no one is on, taunt parties might be fun..but they got boring eventually..& is wasting so much precious time.
Heck, you can even learn a bunch of new AT's with that time.

I started out strictly online, but I had the luckiest timing - like, I played when some now-famous names were still active online, so I got to play people ranging from OS to ADHD and Ally, so i got firsthand exposure to that kinda play lol. Never got up there myself, but it gave a much-needed boost to whatever gameplay I did have.

As long as you're paying attention to patterns moreso than individual hits (especially online), you'll improve XD
