In one smooth motion move the control stick halfway towards the rim in the direction opposite of what your facing and then flick in the direction you are facing, you do a pivot and can perform an action while Nana does a short burst in place, then you can input a move for Nana.

And there's the start desync, just hold the b button as the countdown is going and when the announcer finally says go, only nana will shoot an IB.
