You know, when you put it that way, it starts to feel like Linkle was only shoehorned into the game for the sake of a female Link.

I don't know about shoehorned, but that was overall the point of Linkle was to explore the concept of a female link. And she was the best way to explore said concept. Plus there is technically the things Aounuma said a few years ago where he might consider adding Linkle to the main series. Who knows what will become of that though.

That is my single biggest problem with Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo are cowards for not embracing Linkle and doing more with her.

I’m not the biggest fan of her name but she was absolutely a missed opportunity.

I will always want a mainline Zelda game where I can play as a female character- I don’t care if it’s Linkle, Zelda, or anyone else. As long as they aren’t done awfully.
