Terrible idea that shouldn't have even been experimented with. The Mario universe has a flooding well of characters to choose from, and it'd probably be better for these series to get their own car/racing games - like a slow-paced AC taxi/bus game or a Zelda horseracing game.

Honestly, if things were up to me, I’d probably just go with guests from the extended Marioverse like Banjo, who’d hopefully be easier to negotiate for after SSBU.

I really don't like the idea of Banjo in Mario Kart. I'd much rather have one of the Diddy Kong Racing OCs.

That’s fine, part of the reason I want him is to further revive interest in the series, even if it doesn’t lead to a new game. Just more Banjo content in general is good enough for me.

Though Tiptup would be pretty sick.

I don’t particularly care either way, but judging by the overreactions, if they ever did a general Nintendo racer, they should make it clearly a very separate thing. I’m not exactly hopeful a Mario Kart roster will suddenly get interesting again, either way.

Part of that kinda boils down to the clones, but like Smash, it’s either them or nothing. Still, there are better choices they could’ve gone with like Mr. L and Cosmic Spirit.

Speaking of Mario Kart guests, I really like them, since having guests I games makes the game more fun like Smash with Sonic and Pacman.
You know, if we get more Nintendo Character for Mario Kart, it would become "Nintendo Kart", which us the thing that may derail the series, but it would be cool like Sonic and SEGA racing.

I agree with you and AlRex AlRex that it should be its own thing. Personally, to avoid redundancy, if I were in charge, I'd change up the gameplay to make it stand out more.

Maybe the Nintendo Kart would have gameplay based on Sonic Allstars Racing Transformed (I know it would look like this Nintendo was copying from SEGA, but at least it would differ from Mario Kart I guess.)?

Good idea. I was personally thinking of something similar to Sonic Riders, which is more action heavy and trick based.

Honestly I'd still rather it focus on a single series and not a crossover - we could do with more non-crossover multiplayer games.

I've been seeing suggestions to scrap most Mario spin-off series and have them all be Nintendo crossover. To each their own I guess, but for me, that would kinda kill the specialness of the Smash series and its crossover aspect.

I mean, it's true.
But only downside I believe is that non-crossovers games get more repetitive and it would cause it to be boring...
(No offense, but that's my opinion)

To me that would kill the specialness of Nintendo as a company - moreso than it already has - and its ripple effects if felt throughout the industry could possibly drain my love for modern multiplayer gaming as a whole.
