Hello... I was browsing the Debate Halls forums (am interested and am waitng for the new proceduresto be posted) and I have a nice idea to get the Debate Hall flourishing again.

What is the main feature for all hard work played on Smash? A tournament!!! So, why not just make a debate tournament?

Usually they function like this: Three man teams and approximatly five topics.
Each team features a First Speaker, a Second Speaker, and a Rebuttal.
For the topics, it is usually a statement like "America needs stricter Gun Control". There is the Propostion (For the statement) and Opposition (against it) and the teams cannot choose what side they are on. Winner goes to those who makes the better (or more credible) argument. Since it's online, it might also be necessary to make the players cite their online sources so that it lessens the power of the Google Search Engine and the ever so infamous Wikipedia.

Also, a modest prize usually goes nicely for this kind of thing, or some title of respect like "Winning Debate Team" under the User Name (The latter will allow for more frequent "Tourneys"
