What I like to do is approach every now and then with a dash attack. If your opponent just shields every time then you can grab them instead. I love to use back throw against most characters. Against floaties it seems to be easy to get a dash attack after a back throw which leads to so much...

I would think that if you tap jump with for the lasers you will have issues dashing before the jump to get the move movement out of the jump to follow up the laser with.

Just because the mechanics and physics of the two games are very similar or identical(which they aren't) does not mean they play the same. You do not approach both games the same. Plus the two games don't even feel the same when it comes to physics, they are close, but not the exact same.

They are totally different games and play very differently from each other. One should not replace another, but they should exist together.
