  • >:D YEAH! A supporter

Spire is just one of them people who believe that Pokemon is gay :p
Naw bro. I used to have the same questions when I started out... except I had to work out most of it for myself XD
There is an option to rotate it in the toolbar.

Try to not rotate it though. It always ends up coming out all messed up. If you do rotate, try to do it like 90 degrees, 180 degrees, etc.
When you add parts, you put them in different layers, which you can find in teh top of the window
    You can't.

They mean make the dimensions 80x80.

For example, when you open up your paint program (GIMP, Photoshop, etc.) They want you to make the dimensions 80x80 before you start. Then you start making the sprite in those proportions.

Unfortunately if you can't shrink the dimsensions you will have to start all over. Its your scratch sprite right? Because if so, let me see what I can do about those dimensions ok?
I like the second one better

But I could be biased on my prefferance for the color black
Yes and it is the best... game... ever (sorry for any hyping I may be causing you)

Man, I'm so happy with my game. I got a magmortar and even though it looks stupid, it DOES kick ***
    ...eh.

I would prefer to stick to revamps, trophies, splices, pixel-overs, chaos (starting to learn how), etc.
And I tell you I'm not

*Puts more Pokechips on the table*

Come on, if you liked me you would let this slide. I am completely uncapable of scratch spriting (and don't say I'm not, you probably got "The Gift"). I am completely able of doing any other kind of spriting, but scratching is just TOO hard for me. And don't say this is just like my splice trouble days, where I got over it. I will NOT get over scratch spriting...

Again hope you have the best of luck
*Puts all teh poker chips on the table*

I swear mine is coming out terrible. I'll give it a try again and I'll show you
Wow... that's actually good. Is that your first one? I could never nail scratching. I also couldn't do splicing, but I ended up getting over that. Man I'll probably end up not entering mine up in this. I'd love to see my sprite for SmashCAP2's pokemon, but I am just not cut out for scratching XD.

I'll root for you though :)
Man I had to start all over again. They changed the picture halfway through my sprite...

Well yours was coming out better than mine anyway ^^. I've never had much of an aptitude for scratch spriting
    Thanks for the encouragement.

**** I'm so freaking tired. I just got home from a friends that has SS (and the event jirachi and pichu, so I was also allowed to get notched ear and the new PW course XD)
Technically you don't. What scratch spriting really is is to literally start from scratch. No pokemon parts and so on.

Thats what it is, you just have to copy it down into a pose
Well not really. You already have the basis for your drawing, all you need to do now is to copy it. What you need ceativity on is the coloring though. But since it is part grass type (and I think ghost) You could just use a green/purple color scheme. for the shinies... well you would have to think on that, but its not THAT hard
Its just something that smashboards does to make up pokemon like smogon. You don't necessarily win anything except the respect of your fellow peers... I need this
Hohoho... a challenge. If you saw my previous sprite, I might not win this, so don't expect anything from me XD
Ok first go to layers and select Add Alpha Channel (its under the transparency sub... whatever), then go to the fuzzy select tool and click the area you want gone, then you just press delete on your keyboard and WHAMMO! You got yourself a transparent image
You know what I just noticed? Your avatar is transparent in the profile but mine isnt... hmmmm.... I wonder why that is
That explains a lot. I don't think Photobucket can make transparencies. If you want to start making sprites, you are going to need a more serious program, such as GIMP which I use.

You could use paint, but its a pain in the *** to use, mostly because it can't make transparencies and it can't do layers like GIMP and Photoshop do.

If you really want to get serious in spriting, I recommend downloading GIMP. Its just as good as Photoshop and it's free. If you want me to help you start out on spriting though, just ask me
Hmmmm I read that it was supposed to be a fusion of Sandslash and Lucario right? Well technically its a recolor. But other than that it looks great. I would suggest you make it transparent though. You see the white box around it? Well in your posts, it would make it nicer if you could make it transparent.

For example, I this would look much more nicer in as your avi

But over there its not ALL about competitive battling. It also has casual pokemon as well. For example, if you don't want to talk about competitive battle, you could specialize in sprites like I do (as I've seen you see all my sprites XD) or you could just talk casually. Its not obligatory to be a competitive battler to post there, that will most probably be for just the title...
Well its a bit hard considering that some pokemon have better roles than others. For example there are Walls which have high defense and there are Trappers which screw you over by putting you to sleep while they do stuff to you or there are Healers which specialize in healing your team (which btw Celebi is the best for XD).

And you have to know how to manage EVs, IVs, Natures and even items... so taking all that into consideration is a pain in the *** to do. Thank god Smogon exists to guide me in the making of my team and Shoddy for making it so easy to choose IVs, EVs, Nautres, etc.
Well considering that I haven't done anything worthwhile with it, I can't say anything.

But, since a reform is about to happen, keeping the title will be a pain in the ***... why do you ask?

To have it, people want you to have "in depth knowledge about pokemon". In other words this means know competitive battling, which I explicitly suck at XD
