Ah, man. You're not caught up? I am really jealous of you. I wish I could forget all of One Piece so I could read it again for the first time. You're lucky, too. I almost wound up spoiling you in my last VM.
I personally prefer the manga to the anime, because I think the animation for the anime is pretty bad. It throws everything off for me. Still, if you like the One Piece anime enough to make Nico Robin your avatar, then it must be doing something right.
I actually have a Nico avatar too. Different Nico, though.
Yeah, I generally wind up reading it the day the scanlation comes out. Probably my favorite manga. I can't honestly say it's the best manga I've ever read, but it's pretty high up there, and it's probably the one I like the most. If not for the fact that for the first 100+ chapters I don't think Oda had really found his groove yet, I might rank it as the best manga I've ever read too.
Luffy.
I guess that's not very interesting of me, but I can't help but love Luffy. Seems like he should be a typical shounen protagonist, but he's just so much better than any of the other ones. If anyone had described Luffy to me before I read One Piece, there's no way I would think I could like him as much as I do. But he's great.
I guess I'll ask you the same question. Who's your other favorite?
Nico Robin is one of my two favorite One Piece characters.
