Infinity ward patched the 1887 range to be decreased when you used akimbo because they thought it was too rigged. However, they were stupid as hell and somehow using bling with akimbo and FMJ registers as not needing to reduce the range, so they are the same as the original range.

Well, honestly, if it's working, there is no need to change it... if it works, it's not bad. If you are looking to extend your combos utilt. Utilt in shine combos is pretty hawt, also shine -> bair is a good way to end shine combos.
