I plan to become a cop, which you probably didn't know. In fact, I plan to become a SUPERCOP. Both of these things mean I need to get very good at shooting.
Luckily, when I went shooting for the first time recently, I've discovered that I've got a bit of THE NATURAL INKLING. My first live round fire was with a .40 caliber automatic handgun, and I managed to keep the entire clip within a head-sized grouping at a moderate distance. I want to say 30-50 yards, not sure.
I can also shoot bullseyes with .22s generally. Quickly and confidently.
But I was terrible with a shotgun (double barrel) and a revolver (.38 and .357). And a .50 cal for that matter, which was kind of embarassing because it had a tactical scope and everything.
So basically I think there's something I'm doing right overall that I haven't quite tapped into, and probably something wrong with my overall technique that's holdin' me back. Given my confidence with a low-caliber rifle I'm guessing it's got something to do with my breathing and gripping (recoil and stuff)? Or maybe something else, or that and more? if it makes any difference, the wind had actually picked up considerably by the time my shooting went to ****, and everyone I was with had their own accuracy take a bit of a nosedive. But y'know. No johns. Be prepared and such haha
Anyway I figured you'd have some insights and this is a rare opportunity for me to ask a gun nut for counsel without feeling like an idiot that's wasting their time.
