  • Yea its hard for me to use Pit right but I`m sure that its because hes such an underused character. I'm figuring out uses that could prove effective againsf some situations. So far I've found:

☆First Pit can actually DACUS
☆Any aerial to utilt is good for baiting somewhat.
☆An aerial to nair works for the same thing above.
☆Since its expected for people to PS arrows I think it be best to use them in midair and for edgeguarding maybe?
☆I think that Down-B is useful onstage as well as for gimps.

I want to know what do you think about those options. Would they work? Utilt should definately be used more imo.
lol I don't know too much about MUs either. Most of what I would explain about any MU would be common sense.

Btw, I didn't make up "db1" myself, I just put it as my gamer tag since "db" also happens to be my nickname. xD

*yawn* I'm gonna go to sleep now. Past 2 o'clock where I am; dunno about you. Fun talkin' to ya!
    Balanced Brawl doesn't have wave-dashing.

What he was doing was something called platform canceling, which is where you can cancel directly to any moving platform. I forget how to do it though; I haven't incorporated it into my game yet.
Haha right, watching now. Yeah, I've always had the impression that Wolf was a bit underplayed.

    Aw, that's dumb.
No problem, and thanks much for the Wolf stuff. I feel alot more confident now. You and I should talk about this stuff more often.
Bit of an old combo vid. =)

Here's a really good video of Mr. R. He's amazing, best European Marth (except I don't watch Leon much, so I can't be positive).

Sorry, I don't have my wii fixed. The wii#'s are unique to the Wii console itself, not the games it plays (and mine still can't read any games, so I wonder if I'd be able to even watch the vid if you send it). :(
I would've thought that jab would outprioritize the blaster because of all its disjoint.
I definitely know what you mean when you explain how to gimp Wolf. Back a few weeks ago we were playing some matches (we also were trying to get people to play us for moeny, but that's another story lawl), and this one match I was at high percentages, last life, and he was at 0% last life. I ended up getting a really neat gimp on him and killing him at 28%.

But yeah, I use db1 quite frequently, mostly since I saw Mr. R perform it on Kaos back in October or around that time. I imitate alot of the creative things he does it with it.

My wii # should be on my profile. =)
You're probably right about playing more defensively; his blasters really shouldn't be forcing me to approach like I am. I do use my jab quite a bit these days (mostly if I hit a shield with a FF aerial), but I just had a thought - I wonder if it's efficient to block the blast shots with it. I think jab's decently fast, and Wolf's blaster certainly isn't, so..... ;)
If I can force him to approach like you say, I think that'll make my job easier; perhaps the reason I've been doing better with other characters is that I can play more defensively.

    More to come....
Thanks alot, dude! This helps alot; I'll respond (multiple times probably lol stupid VMs) in a minute.
But yeah, I actually already incorporate db1 into my gameplay quite a bit (it's actually my gamer tag), though I seem to have missed it in my matches against this guy. I'd still love to see yours and Sky's fight(s) though. :)
I'll wait for you to finish lol, before responding. xD

Thanks for the advice so far; you've reminded me of alot of stuff I should've done.
The one problem I kept running into is how to approach him. What frustrated me a great deal was that he did the same thign over and over, but I couldn't respond to it. He would spam blaster until I was in grab/fsmash range and repeat. Simple enough, you'd think. Blaster's easily powershieldable, and I didn't have any trouble until I'd get closer and I'd choke, get hit, and eat an fsmash. If I jumped over the blaster shots and did a falling aerial, he shieldgrabbed/shield > fsmashed. I thought about trying dancing blade, but I couldn't even complete one, I was so frustrated. I started dropping behind him, but he picked up on it fast.

There should be some easy solution I'm just too stupid to figure out, but bleh.....

lol Sorry about that. How've you been? xD
We were having a fun time; I wasn't playing with my Marth at all - I was using alot more Snake, GW, Ness, DK, MK, etc.
When I finally went Marth, I remembered why I never go Marth against his Wolf. I have some kind of block aaginst him and I can't explain it. The matches were close at first (with me losing on the last stocks), but the more frustrated I got, the worse I did.
I was frustrated because I strive for my Marth to be the very best of my characters, but the fact is, I beat him with everyone except for Marth.
More like getting frustrated with my Marth lol. Maybe you can help me out here:

Played some offline games with a few friends of mine a few days ago. I think I might've mentioned this before in that Marth group, but I have one friend who uses Wolf, and he's got alot of natural talent.
About a month ago, I began teaching this guy how to improve his game; the thing was that he had a real knack for the game even with a scrub's knowledge and mentality. I was showing him all kinds of things to do when I was at a distance or when I was near the ledge or in my shield, etc. and he really learns fast.
A few days ago, we were messing around at first. I was tryign to see how he would react if I did the same things multiple times (such as what I would do to approach or what I'd do from the ledge), and he was doing pretty decently. We started getting more serious because he was starting to throw more punches, but I'm the better player.
I've decided to help out the Pit boards by having Pit as my secondary once more. The Pit boards are........ :(
You should check my recent conversation with twiz to learn about my internet.

It's been WiiConnect that hasn't been working apparently. I did get your vids last night. Your Pit lv 5 is better than any of mine. My records per lv are
    1: 11.38 (ZSS)
    2: 11.61 (Pit)*
3: 16.38 (Sonic)* (this used to be mid 20s)
    4: 24.08 (Pika)
    5: 21.01 (Pika)*
    * means since I got your vids
Unless the fastest Pit lv 1 & 2 you sent aren't your best, mine are faster than yours  and (mostly) without all the fancy arrow controlling

And, yeah the DSi's internet is very similar to the Wii's.
dude, i need to do the gym leader thing this is the 2nd or third time ive challenged you, get active cause im way behind now...
By improving my time, I generally mean I've shaved a few hundredths to half a second off what they were (except my 2 most recent Pit lv 1 records which ended up having over a second difference).

Hopefully we can play this weekend, but I'm lucky to be online right now through my DSi. My connection has been HORRIBLE since Thursday or Friday. It's been so bad that if you've already sent the Sonic vids, I haven't gotten them yet :(
Oh that MU is tough for me too. I lost to a gw with Pit on RC, so with my experience that MU is tough to master with Pit. And lol I should watch some more vids so i can learn a thing or two.
Thanks and GW's and Snakes are really just common online. You are too, nice Kirby combos, I've like never seen those before.
Mhm and she can land Usmashes easlier should land on top of the platforms. I'm going to need alot of luck to do that lol.
GGs That was a fun match for me I'm sorry xD

You say that my Peach would beat you but it was all that stage. I remember that Peach has a sort of a advantage there.
You also have no clue what I am saying still for Marth. I know his up b stage spikes. Ever heard of hugging? It is when a person runs off the ledge and the hits the control stick in the opposite direction and grabs the ledge. It is a quick edgeguard technique that was added to brawl/replaced wavehogging generally. It is by far the easiest way for anyone to edgeguard Olimar and timed right it is a very easy way to edgeguard the star fox patrol and force Marth to up b onto the stage.

It is Snake's fastest way to edgehog due to his mediocre up b/slow jump. I missed the ledge due to a lag spike. Here is a video from 2008 demonstrating hugging. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE1xY9ZjRTs

this conversation is dumb since the games finished. I am rechallenging tonight and if you cannot play tonight, some other day.
This conversation is over and done.
