  • where the hell are you??? haha I haven't figured that out yet...

    wait, Richmond, right?

Yeah you're a couple hours from Raleigh which isn't bad at all. There's a decent enough scene that with the proper push and charm you could get them to attend! =D
Scattered throughout Virginia Beach, mostly. A couple in Norfolk. A handful or two in Newport News. A small amount in Chesapeake, though they're relatively inactive :(
    LOLLL

I'm originally from SoVa and I was the only one who ever really got **** DONE there...well, I'm one of the very few who tries that people actually RESPECT and listen to.

I moved to Georgia at the end of May but I'm still close with my SoVa peoples. When I see questions going unasked or unanswered and I feel it could help the community for that question to be addressed, I step in and address it.

People in SoVa are mad lazy and unambitious, unfortunately.

You will NOT find 35 people to attend monthlies. I guarantee that. Especially if it's 2 hours away from the majority of SoVa, as Richmond is.

    Sorry :(

Actually: You COULD find 35 people, but only if you include other games like you mentioned.
hmmm not sure... uh, I use WS_FTP 12 (free home edition) but they're all alike I thought, dunno tho...
Sup, yo. Any luck w/the FTP? Imma try the rapidshare again while i'm here

    sweeeet I got in.

I love this! You always find such great samples :D I'd turn the beat down a bit, don't wanna squash that beautiful piano, but actually, keep it like that, then on the next take, keep the beat, but un-EQ the piano, and centered so you get a nice full sound, and you've got it. there's a ton of dnb potential here, I'd love to hear some nifty bass work on it too.
Hey dude, that avi is awesome. I also like her out of the three sisters, dunno why.
I'm using that first groove you sent me http://rapidshare.com/files/303947537/Untitled_2.wav.html
It's not even glitchy, it's a great groove, and why I'm using it cause it really hits home a lot a great things, and I like the guitar sounding sample, and I have a pop/click remover for that pftpftpft in there :D I also just got a copy of cubase studio 4 so i'm back in business!

Wow that's an endeavor. Don't sweat the length I've got one that's 24 minutes and counting, lol it'll prolly never end it's one of the works that I just keep on keepin on, but eventually i'll get around album length and call it done. maybe, haha.

**** this rapid share thing, lol i've been trying for 45 minutes now >< You want in on my FTP server? At least then we could swap files directly w/o issue.

Still waitin' ... heh yeah, this'll have to wait until later, but soon as I can get in I'll let ya know what I think. Meanwhile PM if you want FTP access, it takes me like 5 seconds to setup, and there's no security risk so long as you don't give out your un/pw.
niiiiice. is that you freestyling? that track was so awesome, very nice work, I enjoyed the tchad blake feel, good use of horn samples. at first I wasn't too keen on the beats being panned out L/R but it fits ok, may just experiment w/a center pan to see if it also works. this track could even go further and have a nice chorus and a bridge... make those horn samples work for you even more, give it a structure all to itself, though this contradicts the feelstyle approach you've used so effectively, so be very careful if you do that. overall impression though is make more of these :D fo sho.

and... cool! haha thanks, yo I will do so presently. I dunno what will come of it, but I like the groove so much i've just gotta use it somehow. i'll let ya know soon as i have something!
Will check in to that the thread. I've been feeling pretty bad lately, so I may not get to it until tomorrow.

Realistically, it's not THAT surprising considering most are also atheist, and atheists tend to be liberal slanted. Since they are atheists, they tend to be more about dissecting things/questioning things. Regardless, I'd love to make it as unbiased as possible, but they won't happen easily.
Hell yeah! That's the stuff... very nice groove, got a good feel to it, like the sample work in the middle too. I would love to hear a good strong down beat and snare now, a second layer over this one that's bright to offset the thicker sounds you have in this, and it'll help keep it rooted I think. Excellent work!

Haha well writing during an argument -can- have its advantages, as you can record it and play w/the sounds. I had a great sample of a chick screaming "I hate you!" who was living next door to me -_- but alas its gone. That first groove you wrote was awesome, and now that i've listened to it some more I actually don't mind the pftpftpft as much, plus with more layers it'd prolly be unnoticeable.

Hey if you don't mind I'd like to actually use your first loop ??? pwease??? :D I be sure to give full credit if if I produce it.
Aha. I get it now. :p

Um, it's been... how shall I say... uneventful, really. I just go to work, come home, play video games, read, eat, sleep. Haha, not really different, except for the lack of school. I admit it.

    What's new with you?
YOU REMINDED ME! I just finished typing up a complaint post in that thread. Looks like I need to adjust it to exclude you.

I don't think I'm in the Fallout mood anymore, but the fact that someone pulled through is all that matters.

Good job, here's a scooby snack.
just got it. first off NICE GROOVE! love it. the pft pft pft gotta go tho, however you can, I know it's gonna be tough because i think its part of the higher pitched sample, and its recursive to fit the groove but for some reason its got a cut-off blip in there on the fast repeat
    _ - - - - _ - - - - _ - - - - _ - - - -
    B B A aaaa etc

That A sample is right from the get go, but for some reason the aaaa part has a pftpftpft goin' on during it...

Where go from here? Hmmmmmm, heh that's SO dependent on your style. -I- would introduce some kick *** rappin cause this groove almost screams for good rap. But if you're looking for melody, I'd go for something that's earthy... gritty, and tuned up in the upper bandwidth to offset your established pattern, introduce some deeper syncopations to really make that BOOM BOOM groove hit home. Like... a nice lilting hi-hat type deal, but not hi hats, better would be sts's like uh, F what are they called... no tambourine, not hi hats, the things you shake... uh mirakas? (sp) yah. so much for being a music major :p

    happy tracking!

looool just noticed I went ot in the middle of a sentence, introduce the hats as I said BUT for melody, stretch a decent earth sound across the grove, and then ramp it in time, syncopated to the kick beat.
heh i'll let you know as soon as it lets me download it, i'm not a premium member so i have to wait for open slots to avail themselves apparently
Nope thanks for sending em the link the songs are pretty good :) so far hope they keep them up, odd but good
Hey, for the Mono-Color tournament, we can use our original teams. If you still wanna do our match, message me. :D
Well, at least the day wasn't a bust. :)

I can't really offer much advice on the job front though. I've been looking for a second one for quite some time now.
Haha, I'll try to think of some actors to revive it.

I don't know about Burning Man, though it seems like you might enjoy it. I'm sure it would be interesting, to say the least.
I don't even know. I just really liked the picture. It pretty much sums me up.

Haha, thanks! If there's anything you want to add, let me know.
Haha, no shoes!? I hate looking for a job. I hate it so much. Possibly more than anything else in the world.
I thought about posting that one, but I wasn't sure if it would get my point across.

By the way, I updated the Guilty Gear thread, and I was wondering if you had any Johnny gifs?
Ah, thank you! That's it, but I could never put my finger on it. You are correct!

On a completely random note, I had a dream last night, and for some reason, it was the Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack. Set to my dream. It was very odd.
