Competitive Mii Fighter: How this character should be allowed(Custom: Off)

So here my take on why miis legal on 1111 is the most popular, but maybe not the most correct choice today. First, we have to assess why we ban or regulate content in games in the first place. There are three reasons. Something is gamebreaking, degenerate, or a logistical issue. For...

    Character Competitive Impressions

I like these tier list because they give more insight into characters. Our tiers lists don't really tell what the different tiers mean, how close characters are, and why they're placed there. The list above is more flexible and provides more info. I've seen other tier lists of the kind replace...

Sure they were. Pika and Diddy had infinites based around them that players actually performed in tournaments.

Is the skill gap in Smash 4 too small?

I don't know why Smash players think each game is so distinct when there are so many basic mechanics people forget are the same. Every game in the series features percent based damage that correlates to the knockback of moves. The goal of the game is to knock your opponent off the stage and if...

Is the skill gap in Smash 4 too small?

I agree. But that's not the question the OP asked. He asked if the skill gap is too small, not is the depth is lacking.

Is the skill gap in Smash 4 too small?

But it does increase the skill gap. It may not test skills we want to test, but nevertheless, it tests skills that have to be learned to play the game. Just to everyone, depth=/=skill, but they can share things between them.

Q&A Game Play Advice and General Discussion

General rule, bad enough so that you at least somewhat understand why you lost, but good enough so they understand why they lost. But you can learn from anyone. I like playing people way past my skill level sometimes because I know I'm going to lose, so there's no pressure to win. With no...

Sakurai on DLC: “It’s All About Making Players Happy”

Sakurai focuses on making the player happy while also announcing they want lots of DLC for Smash? Get ready ready for 8 player Smash featuring Lucas, Wolf, Snake, Ryu, Cloud, Goku, Naruto/Sakura team (because who wanted Naruto and Hinata together anyway?), and Vladimir Putin.

I go to GSU right now and live on campus. But yeah, I want to go to Gwinnett Brawl and more tournaments in gerenal. However, I don't have the transportation. Even if I did, I don't have the money. Also, I don't have the game, but I'd still go to tournaments just to play.

Was the change in the ledge mechanics better or worse for this game competitively?

Honestly, I just want a mix of old and new. Keep the ability to ledgehog while still taking away invincibility on consecutive grabs and the ledge game would have been perfect. Maybe even keep the ability to trump as long as the character on the ledge's invincibility is out.

How does one break bad habits?

If you know your problem, then you have to play whole matches dedicated to not doing it. Instead of focusing on winning, focus only on never doing your habit. Don't even do it when it's the right time to do it. You have to break your muscle memory first before you can adjust and properly...

Is the skill gap in Smash 4 too small?

It is weird though that top level Smash 4 players aren't receiving player sponsors like Melee. Out of all the games in the FGC, Melee's the one of the first to get backing from major e-sports organizations like Cloud 9, Curse, and Mortality. Even if you'd like to say that the most top players...

    Character Competitive Impressions

I understand sweet/sourspot hitboxs. They give characters more more options and rewards on the same move and reward controlling which part of the hitbox a player hits with. My arguement was that Marth rarely gains anything from his sourspot, so it doesn't add much meaningful depth. You addressed...

    Character Competitive Impressions

But compared to Marth, what's the difference? Even though Marth has 2 hitboxs, the weak one rarely adds anything and is usually discouraged. It may be useful for comboing off of nair/bair, but mostly it's just a worse hitbox for Marth in every way. So essencially, Marth really only has 1 hitbox...
