No, but I will apply early decision to the College of William and Mary and that application is due November 1st. I've worked on my application but it's not yet finished and I haven't sent it out yet.

We've been #1 for 3 years running. Not that it particularly matters to me; it kind of just makes us seem pretentious.

No particular connection other than the fact that we're about a 30 minute drive from the white house and are generally considered the best public high school in the country.

Yeah, same, pretty light on work but of course I also have to figure out all this college stuff.

BUT, the most awesome thing ever happened last week: President Obama came to speak at my high school on Friday, and being a senior, I was selected to go see him live! He gave a short speech and signed the America Invents Act, a patent reform law. I got within about 12 feet of the president at one point and shook hands with Francis Collins, director of the NIH (National Health Institute). So awesome!

Agreed. My grade suffered greatly for years because I had math 1st period. I can't function at 7:30am. It causes great pain and I can't brain at that moment.

Having a coach that gets involved in amazing. Coach Martin would play ultimate frisbee with us and she was a great teammate. A shame that you guys have to run.

Sounds like a fun high school experience. For me it was, crazy bad awful exciting freshman year. Sophomore wasn't much better but it could've been worse. Junior year is incredible so far.

I've never had a normal named math teacher. Poppert, Kneapler, Wehust, Nin, Appleton.

And I've never had a bad English teacher. I love them all and still visit them to this day!

It's a typical day in his class. We're reading The Crucible now so we learn some fun Puritan facts every day!

For me, it's more that I'd hate to sacrifice some amazing opportunity classes for something with a lot of work and little benefits. A lot of people like math because it stays the same, I hate it because of that. It's too tedious for me, too boring!

Gym all 4 years? That's awful. As much as I love Team Sports, I wouldn't want it as a regular class. I'm more of a German kind of guy myself.

You've got P.E which I love, but not enough to sacrifice a precious elective. Calculose or any math in general is bad. Spanish is awful and Chemistry isn't required because I have my science credits!

That's a pretty stupid reason. You shouldn't be punished for their incompetence. I guess I just have connections. If you're interested, here's my schedule story.

I should have 3 electives this year because I took a second science class freshman year. Instead, they gave me Intensive Reading (****** class that replaces an elective. It sucks and I don't belong), ALGEBRA 1 LOL, and Digital Design with the wrong teacher. I wanted Mrs. Anderson because she's too cool. Instead, they gave me the same teacher that taught a typing class at my middle school 5 years earlier.

So I get switched all over the place because Mrs. Harlan gets stuff done the same day, it's amazing. Even 3 weeks into the year, she managed to get me out of Intensive Reading and into English Honors which is pretty funny. I also got put into Liberal Arts and they moved my entire schedule around for the Honors. So lunch got switched to 4th period, Eng Honors 5th period, and ESchool 7th. It's somewhat complicated, but a cool story nonetheless.

I can't imagine having your schedule though. Illinois and their weird public school systems!

My guidance counselor is an absolute monster and got me like 12 schedule changes. My current and most up to date classes,

American History - Schmitz. Great teacher.
Intro to Info Tech - Anderson. Computer class that I play Pokemon in.
Credit Recovery - Howard. Awesome class where I make up failed classes online.
Lunch
English Honors 3 - Price. One of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life.
Liberal Arts - Appleton. Math class, it's cool.
Pasco Eschool - Drivers Ed online, I just do easy stuff and learn important road facts.
