really airgemini? i found what little action sequences and animation they had in the trailer to look pretty good, maybe fan hype is keeping me from looking at it objectively.

but considering the people involved in making the show, and the rhetoric of less episodes for a "more streamlined show", with each episode written by the creators, it couldnt possibly turn out that bad, and hopefully not mediocre. i think a series involving the original crew with less fillers makes for a good show.

then again it wouldnt be the first time i was all hyped, defended my hype, and then was disappointing (BWARL)

and about them finding skybison, i didnt find it that ridiculous, though it was surprising.
its like finding lost pokemon thought to be extinct, hiding out in some oasis.

on a srs note, i think the duke hooked up with toph.

And yes, I find it ridiculous that after 100 years and throughout the span of the show that we've already seen that they just magically found a group of skybison. It seems too random and forced to me.

I don't think them randomly finding a group of sky bison is that big of a stretch.
After how long humans have been living on this planet we're still just discovering new species and environments for already existing species. It completely plausible imo.

I'm excited to see how the whole one location thing plays out. I feel avatar did the journey around the world thing flawlessly, i'll kind of miss it.

Yeah, her design seems a little "boyish" to me, but I think that's just the horrible attire she has on. In the trailer it kind of threw me off. She seems like she'll have one of those "Buttercup" voices.

I've been hearing things about this. At first, I was kind of excited. Haven't seen the trailer yet, but I looked at the drawings of Korra, and I think she's cute, in a particular way.

I was a humongous fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, so I will watch this expecting nothing less than greatness (that might be a little unreasonable). If the creators are behind this, then it's probably going to be entertaining, to say the least.

Lesean, an english speaking animator thats working on the show's animation in korea, had some nice things to say about it. he was a fan of the original series and said:

"its an amazing storyarc. I promise you it will be worth the wait. Fans are gonna lose their minds ".

lol... in retrospect maybe that not a good reason to expect greatness, but the fact that the original creators are involved, and are who they are, leave me quite optimistic. i expect greatness.

Um...

As a fan, I love hyping up the original, but I see where Choknater is coming from, a little bit. Like, a tiny little bit (though I personally thought it was really deep). I thought that, near the end, the story got a little rushed, as if they had to meet a deadline, almost. I wouldn't have minded 6 more episodes at an even pace, as opposed to 2 or 3 much quicker.

I hope Korra takes it nice and comfortably slow.

I don't think it was rushed...

It was just the ending, where everything start's going really fast and a lot of action takes place, and then they have to do the obligatory epilogue, which takes time too, and it's not like they're gonna devote a whole episode to the epilogue or something.

I'm just not sure how many seasons this show could last.
With the original, Aang had to master 3 other elements which were perfect to set up 2 extra seasons.

With this one, I'm not sure how they could continue it after one season. Maybe two.

It's only planned to be 2 seasons.
Originally it was only supposed to be a mini-series with 12 episodes, but then nickelodeon ordered 14 more, so it's kinda like a complete show now.

And an episode of epilogue would be something I'd like, but it isn't for everyone.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too long, and they can pack a LOT of stuff into a season. But I wouldn't mind 3 seasons, necessarily...

I think there's a lot of stuff together actually, idk how they're gonna fit it all into 26 episodes.
I feel like there's gonna be a whole arc based on the whole, morality issue of benders vs non-benders.
