"The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang - a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra."

"Korra’s quest eventually leads her to Republic City - the epicenter of the world of “Avatar.” A metropolis powered by steampunk-type technology, the city is inhabited by people from all nations. Korra finds that Republic City suffers from rampant crime and is also dealing with an anti-bender revolt. Korra is tutored by Aang’s son, Tenzin, in the ways of airbending."

Let me guess, they're gonna air this on Nicktoons, since Nick's decided to join the Disney bandwagon and create half-***** sitcoms and boy-bands.

**** you Nickelodeon. **** you for taking away the things I loved and held dear to me.

Seems interesting. Korra sounds kind of like Toph.

I agree with anti-Nick sentiments. Having to dumb down the show really sucks.

Loved the Avatar show. The movie sucked. Toph was beast. This doesn't look that good. It doesn't look like there is much plot to it. So she is just in this city, learning bending, and... doing what?

Aces, they are done Storyboarding it, so now they just need to record the audio and have the South Korean animation studio animate it.

CA5H, obviously there will be a lot more to the story. She's the avatar. She goes to the city to learn bending.

Steampunk actually sounds pretty interesting.

Not exactly the future, but nearly there.

Probably, but I don't think I will watch it.

I just think I'll be disappointed with the show. :p

At first I liked the idea just because they were continuing the Avatar series but some of the plot seems kind of meh to me. Will see how it turns out, though.

Aang must've had a LEGENDARY funeral...

Anyway, anti-bender sentiment? It sounds like the world is changing--technology is starting to replace bending it seems. I wonder if Bumi is still alive. Earthbenders live the longest, and Kyoshi lived up until she was 200. Since Bumi is 113 at the end of ATLA, then he could still be alive. But right now this is wishful thinking.

I like how the guy ignored all questions about the movie.

Also, very excited. I'd be very surprised if the new series disappoints me.

Yo, check the statue of Aang in the background, bald hair and all.

As for wheather or not the series will do well, that all depends on the small things. Think back to the original Avatar. The story was dull at its very core, but the tiny things like the relationship with Zukko and his grandfather, things like this make or break a series, very few are carried on concept alone.

I like how the series will be rooted in one location, allowing for deeper character development on a large scale.

Iroh is his uncle. A good amount of people mistake him for Zuko's grandfather, who was a cruel person. That's funny for some reason.

Hmmmm... I just realized something

It looks that as more as we move into the future, the more we are starting to overthrow benders, explaining why in this day and age, we don't bend nor do we believe in all that martial arts karma mumbo jumbo anymore.

I like how this story is going atm. And steampunk? So now we have machines? So let's see. In what year range would this be taking age?

The producers said they were designing the city with 20s Shanghai and Manhattan in mind. But it's probably not that advanced yet. I'd say mid-late 1800s, with some other periods thrown in there.

This is amazing. I've always wanted a sequel to Avatar, and this is probably the best way that they could have made one.

It'll probably start out mediocre like the first one, but it will probably get a lot better as it goes on.

Here.
Why am I moderately excited about this? At least it'll be a very long time before they make a movie version of this story.

Aang having a son is silly. That's like, not right.

Also, nooo, steampunk :/ fan appeal, I liked the old avatar style just fine. I hope they don't drift away from it too much

Simply because she's a rebellious girl. People are trying to determine as much as they can about the new show from what little we know, so attaching such characteristics with previous characters is their best bet. Honestly, the description could apply to the majority of the females on Avatar.

Yeah, she doesn't remind me of Toph. She's gonna be the hyper, "I can do anything" type that never takes no for an answer.

Watch.

I'm excited. As much as I wanna hate on it just because it's a sequel (and I reaaaaaally don't want them to ruin it after how good the original series was), the story definitely has potential, and I think the writers can pull it off.

Pleaaaaaaaase let them pull it off. ><

I've been rewatching the original series (they've been showing three episodes everynight in order, with "extras" on Nicktoons for a few weeks), and am just constantly reminded on how **** good the series was. I think they'll pull off another great series with this one.

But Toph is more laid back until someone disrespects her, she usually making fun of them to try to get them to disrespect. I'm thinking this girl will be in your face. Like I'm talking like the chipper "Naruto" in your face, not the toph "I'm gonna beat your ***" in your face.

They are pretty similar tho.

It's just a shame that Aang dies. Unless the writers pull of that this water bender is a special avatar that doesn't need the last avatar to die.

But by then we have a problem.
