there are multiple issues with that idea

watcher is a role that could be verified, so having to keep up the pretense of watcher all game wouldn't be easy
if the watcher never gets nkilled that'll already look bad for them
using dgames' mafia setups' meta is dumb
what if there actually was a watcher, that **** would blow up in their face... why would anyone risk that
it's too risky and not even necessary

The point remains: Ryu flipping scum in no way confirms you as the watcher. That's the only thing one needs to know.

Possible options in a hypothetical world in which Ryu is town:

(a) Ryu is Watcher and claimed out of the blue. WATT, madly, decided to cc the claim in order to try to guarantee a mislynch toDay (hardly necessary, and it torpedoes his own slot D2).
(b) Ryu's Watcher claim is a gambit (incomprehensible) which he has not dropped despite the CC, which, from his perspective, could very well lead to town mislynching twice (once on Ryu, and then again on a potential truth-telling WATT).

I can't come to a town Ryu read with any form of logic given the information present. Talk to me, Moira.

Basically, WATT had no other options besides CC'ing Ryu. It's his hail mary and it seems to be working.

why couldn't WATT have claimed literally any other powerrole? how would that not have been a saving grace as well? esp since it avoids issue of forcing ppl to choose between him and red ryu, at a point where he was likely to have gotten lynched.

also if scumWATT claimed another role, atleast he could have outed another PR, TownRR was already outed

WATT was in trouble, but the slot had options, and the cc only buys him one Day. There's just no a lot of value in that kind of a hail mary being thrown this early. Plus, I'm with Mac that the way they've both gone about the claim paints Ryu in much less favorable light. WATT's claim of waiting to talk to his hydra partner before cc-ing is fakable, but believable. And it seems apparent that one head did indeed light up when Ryu claimed. Conversely, Ryu reacted to WATT's cc quite passively.

If anything, I think it was Ryu who threw the hail mary here, the same scum might typically fish for a cop claim on D1. That Ryu went for Watcher instead suggests to me that scum may have a role that inherently implies the existence of a town Watcher.

You say you've been suspecting WATT for a while now, which I get. But I don't see why Ryu would be in much better standing.

I'm not budging. I'm going to be stubborn and if I am wrong I will apologize that I didn't decipher scum>PR this time, but I feel I am right in this 50/50 flip. If you want this slot's vote, you will have to convince Sang. (though you will have enough votes with Circus'/Gorf's to end the day *which should be ended sooner rather than later)

I'll try re-reading the situation again, but my opinion is very biased in this situation since it's my biggest scum-read of toDay CC'ing a total null read as Sang said.
