Placement should be posted in the following format:

[Month] PlayerName: TournamentName: Placement/Entrants - $Entry, $Payout

So, for example, awzaD attends "Brawlapalooza" in October, pays $15 to enter singles places 4th out of the 75 entrants, and earns $50 dollars, his format will be

[October] awzaD: Brawlapalooza: 4/75 -$15, $50

FOLLOW THIS AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY

Points will be awarded to players based on an equation that weighs placement and money earned. The formula for ZSSpoints is as follows:

R = ((P^-1)xE/5)+(W/E), where R is ranking points, P is placement as a fraction, E is entry fee, and W is winnings. (W/E) is always greater than or equal to 0, E/5 will always be at least 1, and if there are ever winnings but no entry fee, entry fee will be treated as $5. So, for example:

R = ((3/100^-1)x(10/5))+(75/5)
R = (100/3 x 2) + 15
R = (33.333 x 2) + 15
R = 66.667 + 15

So, the person who placed 3rd in that tourney would earn 81.667 points.

very nice...it's all thiocynide...
As I discussed the ranking system with a few people, and he was one of them, he gave me his results already, so I went ahead and posted them. :psycho:

As more people post, it'll get alphabetized and all sorts of wonderful things. Expect to see a lot of Snakeee, Sparrow, etc as soon as they get around to getting me their stuff.

I want to put up my results...but iright now I'm feeling too tired/lazy to get a link to everything, and I don't have the amount of players in some of mine. Not to mention getting the entry fees, plus did you want the payouts for money placings?
Meh, I'll probably get them up tomorrow

Provided that you give me any two of these per tourney:
- Entry Fee
- Winnings by first, second, or third place
- Number of Players

It's possible to fgure out the rest of the data. However, not knowing or being able to figure out the number of players might mean I won't be able to give you ranking points for that tourney, though if it's something like one of the weeklies, those probably have average sizes and I might be able to use that.

Sent in my results.

Also, is this just placing based? At the larger tourneys, most of the players I lost to were top players from the west coast. (Some Exceptions, of course) Also some wins against some of the best but the tio thread will explain that. It's too bad 1-2 sets can't be used to determine but I guess that just means I should get better. ^_^

Edit: This post is really awkward to read. = /

Yeah, well the competiton is brutal over here as well :urg:
I'm sure TheZeroSuit isn't taking account Noobfests since he's asking for links for the tourneys...I'll have the links soon btw.

Noobfests are so few and far between now, and noobs generally don't frequent these boards, so I don't think it'll be an issue. No statistical model is perfect.

I'm editing and doing the calculations for you now, Truffle.

EDIT: Truffle, I need the entry fee, and in one case, the winnings, of the tourneys you went to. Without those, I can't rank you.

Also links please. =D

Noted. My post wasn't meant to be scathing in the least. (To the thread owner or any player for that manner.)

I'm just really set on improving, and for some reason these ranking type deals really inspire me to do better. >_<

It's amazing to see other zss mains though. Very few and far.

No problem, just get me the entry fees and winnings so I can rank ya.

There should be a new locator going up within a month or so. Trust me, there aren't many ZSS mains.

All rankings up-to-date, minus Dazwa who has told me I'll have to dig his up because he's too lazy and anybody else who may pop up and want results here.

Things to note:
[August] XIIESTICLE (not listed) - I attended but used Metaknight primarily
[July] TaRB - I split with Darc, but we played out the finals and I won (If you're not counting splits, I earned $84)
[August] NFB3 - I split with Darc, but we played out the finals and I lost (If you're not counting splits, I earned $32)

EDIT: anything regarding teams - I haven't used ZSS in teams since XESTICLE, where I got 3rd. Since then I just use MK in teams.

Updated minus some links, which I will grab later.

EDIT: I'm going to be changing the ranking equation and reranking accordingly. It's a minor change (Winnings is now Winnings / Entry Fee) that will help take out the inaccuracy represented by the cash prizes.

If such innaccuracy is still there, I may remove the cash bonus points altogether.

This tourney was unusual, only allowing the use of a character once per set except for finals. I still used ZSS as much as possible though, and it definitely wasn't a noobfest there were some good players there including Ninja Link and Atomsk.

Awesome Dazwa, did you go all ZSS?. I got SOO close to taking it at mine :(.
Atomsk kept making comebacks on me, and I think I could have taken Inui because of my match up knowledge against Metaknight but oh well.

There were a couple games where I switched over to Metaknight, but much less often than I used to. I think it might be because I'm starting to get the hang of ZSS vs Metaknight.

I beat Jman's Metaknight 2-1 (although game 3 I switched to Metaknight because I don't like Frigate), and KDJ's Snake 2-0, but for some reason I can't handle Nuro =(

I can't recall how I did at the last two Bills, but I can ask Echo. Something like 17th and 13th. At the recent one, though, I got fifth out of 15.

I probably could have gotten fourth, but I choked against Karn, and couldn't pick my momentum back up. Unfortunate, since I think I could also have given I'veJihadIt a run for his money.
