I found the perfect partner for Zelda. She can use Sonic's spring to cancel Din's Blaze herself instantly and without taking any damage. She can set up all 3 Blaze immediately.

It's not a snow day, it's a cold day (idk what to call it xD). It's gonna be cold, like, VERY COLD. And I'm glad because I don't have to wake up at 6:00 am tomorrow ^o^
Just make sure to keep warm ok? I know I get cold very easily, and we wouldn't want you to catch anything.

So about that quiz...

Why try to get the result you want from the quiz when you can just hijack the image url?

Unfortunately, :4charizard::4darkpit::4drmario::4duckhunt::4falco::4greninja::4lucario::4lucina::4megaman::4gaw::4pacman::4rob::4robinm::4shulk::4sonic::4wario2: all don't have results, at least that I can find by this method. If anyone's gotten them from the quiz, let me know and I'll add them here.

Remember the frame cancel thing?

I pulled off the FC Dair into Footstool. Tight timing, but possible.

Also, I came up with a Pseudo chaingrab I've been meaning to show off. Honestly its more of a reset, useful for opponents who dont tech. You can use it to set up guaranteed FC Dairs (or any other followup like a charged smash) at low percents.

Jeez was this really Nov 2, time flies

I could understand Buster being downplayed prepatch when the downside was bigger, but now the reward is so good compared to the risk.

Also the majority of his attacks become safe on shield in Buster, no?.
That reminds me... I should probably start grinding for Mario's customs

And yes, buster is safer on shields

I was testing out the frames on Naryu's rejection.
I think the intangibility starts on frame 8 (she glows white then so I assume she's invincible at that point)
Image28.jpg

The barrier itself forms on frame 13 so I'm assuming the intangibility lasts from 8-12.

I know they're safer, but a lot of his stuff becomes completely safe spaced aside from jab, no? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere.

Mario's customs are fun. Pretty much all of them. I think if I actually mained Mario I'd run 2(2/3)13, but all of his customs are cool and fun to mess around with, and probably viable.

Meanwhile, Palutena as a secondary might become a thing. Her jab isn't quite as ridiculous as it felt when I fought a good Palutena awhile ago, but it's still amazing; her aerials and throws are love too.

I'm less sure about Lucario but I think it'll just be a case of learning what moves to learn when and playing lamer at high percents, because I'm not doing either of those things right even against CPU opponents.

Correct again. Also, what buster does is it allows landing with the middle portion of Monado safe on shield (Something that vanilla can't do). This allow precise spacing/tipping to become less of an issue with the British kid. Buster also increases so much damage, it allows Shulk to eat up shields easily. Good stuff

Mario's Up B 3 seems unappealing though. Doesn't it reduce recovering ability?

It's probably less than preferable; it does 21% and has kill power though, and as shown can be combo'd into. You're right though, it hurts Mario's recovery. It also lacks the invincibility of the default, and comes out slower. I think the sheer power makes it worth considering, I would likely prefer the default upB personally though. To my knowledge it's actually the same recovery distance as Doc's upB, though Doc would lose B-reversed upB as an option and doesn't necessarily need the power as much.

I forgot to consider the bonus shield damage too, lol. Having shield safety, shield pressure, and REAL POWER in one package is pretty sick conceptually.

Thinkaman said this, and I agree: Palutena's UAir is complete cheese. It's a massive hitbox above her and to her sides that kills really early and combos out of Dthrow/Super Speed. It also has IASA frames before its autocancel frames.

Uair is pretty crazy, it does have a pretty late FAF though (even if it is before the autocancel [which is also late]) so Palutena commits hard to it; contrast with nair, which has almost zero ending lag allowing Palutena to quickly act afterward. Though nair doesn't kill, unless you count carrying to the blast zone with nair>nair or comboing nair>uair with lightweight.

I love all her aerials, they each have something great about them.

Except dair.

I think her DAir comes out fast for a meteor but yeah, it's meh. NAir has little lag but unless you hit with the finisher dragging someone into the ground with it is unsafe.

Frame 10's pretty fast yeah, I don't think it's unique in that regard though and it's only active for one frame. Not to mention its hitbox against airborne opponents is smaller than its hitbox against grounded opponents for silly reasons.

Nair only strikes me as air-to-air and combo filler. With the active frames and low end lag I don't see how anyone's airdodging through it safely, and Lightweight gives it lovely combo potential. Its landing lag is awful though, yeah; I'd only use fair and maybe bair for air-to-ground.

To be fair, you are getting rid of her absolute best move whenever you go Squall. He's totally missing out on the Din's Blaze though.
I'm not crazy about Squall for that very reason; FW is so good, and you give it up for a defensive move. It's a pretty severe offensive blow.

I'm less convinced that Blaze Cancelling is going to be anything noteworthy, but it looks hilarious at the least. A lot of dumb stuff exists in doubles though.

Whoa, I didn't know more than 1 Din's could be out at once! Does it have to be canceled specially to do this?
Yes. If you can cancel the frames before the move ends you are free to spawn more, you do lose control of it when you cancel them though. 3 seems to be the max that you can have out to explode but you can have more as long as the explode at different times.

So it's probably not going to work in 1 vs 1s except extremely rare situations where something else lets Zelda cancel it?

Gorls, we're almost at 500... D:

Sudden urges to plan another raid intensifies. Plus, the Palutena raid is loooooong overdue.

So I decided to play some Mario in For Glory.

My first opponent was a Greninja.

Next match I switch to Greninja

And he switched to Mario.

I think I just fought my mirror universe self or something.

Any action that deals damage to Zelda will cancel it for you. This is more of a doubles thing though since you can freely use Sonic's spring to not only cancel it instantly multiple times, you can also do it without taking any damage. It's also fast and easy to set up.

I've had this happen before with Rosalina/Greninja twice, Rosalina/Ike once, and Dedede/Rosalina once.

They're the best kind of sets imo, especially if you keep playing each other trying to get a mirror match and the two of you never land on the same character. V:
