Well, there's also the issue of when the April update is live, merging units will pass on their inherited skills. So, for example, the Cherche I have has low attack, high resistance and while she's still strong and as much as I like her, I'd rather get an average Cherche or an average attack Cherche and merge the one with Arthur's skills to pass down. That said, her skills are good too like Pivot is useful for positioning and escapes which I used to beat Lunatic Michalis as it was the way to get Cherche away from him and behind Tiki who can defeat him. Pivot on knights is useful to help them move or you could use Reposition on another unit to move the knight.I went ahead and gave Arthur's skills to Cherche before you even asked, and those three skills too!
I still don't know how to effectively use the Inherit skill stuff. I'm used to just mindlessly fusing duplicates but I guess I gotta think more carefully now.
There's probably a guide out there on the basics of Inherit Skill, but I'd say stick with things you can easily see or notice like Subaki's defense is naturally high, Bonfire and Ignis makes use of defense to add additional damage, and Subaki naturally does not have a special. You could give him either of those skills to increase his damage output and to fill in an empty slot. Or skills that have no negatives like giving units any of the -breaker skills is useful. Have a spare 4* Laslow and you have a Chrom who naturally doesn't have B-slot skills? Give him Axebreaker 3 and he'll be even more effective against axe units. Doing other things like this one person basically redid almost all of Selena's skills or what Cress! did to make Anna into a killing machine? Yeah, that's something else for later when you have a clearer idea of what to do.
