The Nintendo NX is now titled the Nintendo Switch.
It's as the leaks said were true. It's a combination of a home console and a handheld, meaning you can play either on the big screen or on the go. With detachable controllers and the ability to have multiplayer by detaching the controllers.

So far it has revealed an Elder Scrolls game (Most likely Skyrim), NBA, Mairo Kart 8, Splatoon and a new Super Mario 3D game. I like the idea of it being able to take it on the go, though I am worried that taking it on the go will result in either damaging the screen or with it getting stolen. Which is probably why I'll stick with using my 3DS when on the go. But at least we got some confirmed titles now.

Dragon Quest, Breath of the Wild, Sonic 2017, Skyrim, NBA, Mario Kart 9, Splatoon and Super Mario 3D Switch. I'll definitely get this title. Hopefully it'll have backwards compatibility and have the older titles on the VC from the Gamecube era.

Definitely looks innovative without relying on stupid gimmicks like the wii u.

Only things I'm wondering about is how easy is it to lose those controllers, what is the battery life/specs, and how will backwards compatibility be handled since the nx uses cartridges and doesn't seem to have an optical drive.

Also, king boo in mk8 (9?) hype. Maybe we'll get more dlc for smash as well.

Edit: this is a pretty impressive third party list. Maybe we'll get more than 3 games a year this time.

I wouldn't count on it.

It looks like the docking component has some extra hardware / power in it judging from what looks like a frame decrease in the portable Breath of the Wild.

But still, the Switch effectively looks like what Sony marketed their Vita as; a device capable of playing AAA-console quality games on the go.

Sony got brought to court on a class action lawsuit for false advertising due to that claim and lost.

But the Switch looks like it delivers on exactly that.

Also, seeing NIS on the list of partners. I am hoping that we actually get another Disgaea game on a Nintendo system.

The only time we got one was on the DS called Disgaea DS. It was sluggish and slow and was butchered.
But at least it has Pleinair, Adell, Rozalin, Zetta, Priere and Majorly as playable secret characters~.

I might as well go and marathon the remaining episodes of Punch Line now. Getting pretty good so far.

Also forgot to mention that I saw Episode 2 of Flip Flappers earlier today.

Spoiler: Thoughts on the episode

It was a good episode. Did notice a bit of reused footage, but that's probably due to it being a sakuga anime.

Animation was again top notch during the Pure Illusion, the colours were great and how they contrasted and differentiate the characters (Such as Cocona's blue hair colour changing to a murky yellow and even pink when in the Pure Illusion), her pet rabbit was pretty funny to watch too.

Though I do think the plotline could've been a bit better in this episode, since it was mostly a quarrel between Cocona and Papika (Cocona not wanting to go to the Pure Illusion with Papika again after her almost dying), plus the second half them going into the Pure Illusion to rescue Cocona's pet rabbit Uexkull from being vacuumed into a machine that is usually deployed in the school grounds to clean up mess.

Still a good episode, hope to see it improve more.

Flip Flappers gets 3 s out of 5.

I knew about the paralysis/twave nerf, but the confusion one is news to me. That's pretty neat.

I also heard there was some sort of effect added that nullifies priority moves, so it sounds like they're putting more emphasis on mons with high speed stats rather than mons with access to priority moves now.

So that's the reason why I haven't been hitting myself in confusion lately throughout the Demo. That's pretty nifty, that they actually give you a better chance of not inflicting damage upon yourself.

And it seems like what you say could be right, this'll be a more fast paced generation. So we'll probably see the Tapu Koko + A.Raichu combo in VGC 17

I'd honestly like it if most of these changes didn't make it into the game at all, or at least tone some of them down.

Edit: Forgot that they didn't change Widow in any way which is just lol. She's probably the second worst character rn, behind Symmetra (and they said they weren't going to change her yet since they're going to basically overhaul her entire moveset) so I don't see why Torb should get changed but not Widow.

Honestly, Widow is pretty difficult to balance

By reversing her nerfs, Tracer basically gets invalidated for no reason because bodyshots would OHKO her once again

Making her reach 100% power faster would make it easier for players with good aim to annihilate the other team

I'm not sure exactly what they could do to make her better, but I'd definitely start with fixing her grappling hook (it's so broken) and making it so she can't be poisoned by her own venom mines. Maybe reduce the spread on her smg, too?

And the PTR changes are supposed to be crazy. They wanted to try a bunch of huge changes and see how it works out.

However, there are weekly usage rates/meta analyses that give a pretty good idea of who's the best

As of now, Lucio, Zarya and Ana are the big 3. Other good characters are Reinhardt, Genji, Reaper, McCree, Tracer, etc.
