I've now finished New Game! and seen Episode 11 of Mob Psycho 100.

Spoiler: Overall thoughts on New Game!

It was a very fun and great experience, really enjoyable too.

Usually when people talk about or think Moe or CGDCT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) anime; the most common ones that pop up are Lucky Star and K-On!. However, I feel like New Game! might potentially sit along side them as another great anime that fits in their genre.

The story is a rather simple one but is VERY original and it is kind of relatable for me. Aoba Suzukaze having just graduated from High School decides to look for work at a video game company called "Eagle Jump", there she becomes a character designer for one of the games in development called "Fairies Story 3" and works along with the other members of the team Hifumi Takimoto, Kou Yagami and so on. Each episode focuses on what kind of situation turns up; be it working late hours, debugging or even about payment as well. While it is seen as light-hearted; it is very down to earth as well with some of the topics that do spur from it, plus the idea for it is very original too. Since this is also based off a 4koma Manga as well, the plots of each 4koma is mixed with others to work into the episode.

I also mentioned how this is kind of relatable to me, since back in College; I was originally going to become a games designer myself; probably a character designer myself, however the course I was on was definitely not for me during the 2nd Year of the course. Since it was just mostly written work and 3D Modelling which I was ABSOLUTELY terrible at. If it was sprite work or concept art, I'd be down for. I didn't drop out at all, I just continued on with my course and eventually took an Art & Design Course for final year instead.

Anyway! The animation and art in this is... surprisingly well animated for a show like this. I mean it, the show is oozing with some fantastic animation every so often. Just like every Moe anime, it is bright and colourful. Just take a look:

This isn't the only time as well, there is some really good animation throughout the show as well which I am all for and it looks really well done as well! I should warn you that the show does contain some fanservice as well; so if fanservice is not your cup of tea or you completely hate it, then that might take away the enjoyment of the show.

All of the characters in this show are brimming with charm and unique personalities to boot. There are no similarities between another for a majority of the cast. Aoba (Voiced by Yūki Takada) is a hard worker and is always aiming to improve on her work, Hifumi (Voiced by Megumi Yamaguchi) is a very shy employee who is into cosplaying and has a pet hedgehog as well and Kou (Voiced by Youko Hikasa) is a laid back worker but very stern, though she is often sleeping in the office in just her underwear.
Each character is really unique, mix that with the well done voice acting and the smooth animation and you got some really fun characters. Also, I dunno whether to thank the anime or not for raising flags for Kou x Rin and Aoba x Hifumi. :V

No link to an OP sadly, but the sound design for the show is great. The OP Sakura Skip and ED Now Loading!!! are both by Fourfolium which is a group consisting of the Actresses who acted their roles in the anime. Which is not a rare thing to happen, it is commonly seen in shows like Assassination Classroom, Lucky Star and so on. But anyway, both tracks are really catchy and upbeat which goes really well for an anime that is all moe. The other tracks are really nice and fun to hear too; sadly they are often forgotten imo compared to the Opening and Ending tracks in anime. Once the OST for the anime comes out, that's when I'll give them a listen.

If you are after a good Moe anime, I cannot recommend this enough. If you can cope with the fanservice in a few of the episodes, then I think you'll have a great time with this anime. It's down to earth, colourful and has likable characters. I think some of you might enjoy it.

I really liked New Game!, it was a great moe anime and had a very original concept. I liked a lot of the characters, such as Umiko, Hazuki, Hifumi, Hajime and so on. I hope to see a Second Season of this anime with them possibly working on DLC for the game or another title.

New Game! gets 4.5 s out of 5. It was a really good show that I truly enjoyed, but sadly it is not Anime of the Summer Season for me, that goes to ReLIFE.

Spoiler: Thoughts on Mob Psycho 100: Episode 11

It was a very awesome episode! I'm so happy that I saw Arataka again; the stuff he does is just hilarious and the fact he stopped Mob from exploding from Murderous Intent was really hype and shocking as well. I'm curious if this will be when he reaches his ??? Form again from what happened. Hoping to see how it'll progress further!

Speaking of Mob Psycho 100. One Punch Man's second season got announced. 'Cleverly' titled "One Punch Man 2", so that means we might see them go up to the Tournament Arc.

It took Zelda only one game to become bottom tier. It took Ganon two, and took Jigglypuff three.
It's funny how the balloon has had a better tier list life than the King Of Darkness and Princess Of Hyrule lol.

I'm not entirely confident Ganon is worse than Zelda.
He has very exploitable traits and an abysmal disadvantage state, but his neutral is to be respected and any hit from him can get things going downhill for you.

The reason I'd put Ganon below Zelda is if the opponent plays passively he is put in a hopeless situation based on the MU/stage. If every game was on BF/SV/Lylat he'd be better but stages like DH/TnC and even FD/Dreamland make his chasing extremely hard. Ganon vs Samus for example goes from bad but manageable to hopeless on different stages.

Zelda's bad but she doesn't get counterpicked as hard. Ganon does better if the opponent has to play footsies with him.

So Saturday I have another tournament and this one has doubles, today someone approached me asking if I'd like to partner up with them. This player plays Pac-Man and joked that we'll be keeping the opponents healthy with fruits and water so they won't be salty.

How have you all been? I haven't been going to tournaments lately at all because I stopped enjoying them once I realized why I could never perform well. I've had social anxiety since I was born and despite taking meds for it, being in a tournament setting still makes me extremely uncomfortable. I've played with some known names and done well against them/beaten them, but when it comes down to it at local tournaments I just can't succeed.

I'm on part 10 so no spoilers please. It's really drawing me in. It could be super creepy but they intentionally make it cheesy and bizarre. It seems like a B-movie at times but it's really good too. The whole thing messes with you like a twilight zone and makes you eager to see what happens next.

They were also responsible for this glorious animation of eating a giant loaf of cubic bread. Edit 2: Edit Harder: It's from Sansha Sanyou.

Music does rock... They are on YouTube if you want to be a bum like me and listen to them. "Now Loading!!!!"'s my favorite even before figuring out what the lyrics were saying.

For me, it's a slice of life that's moe. It's something to relax, laugh, and wish everything was adorably cute. At the same time, about game development, it does show daily life of a game developer. Well, as far as what people have said and what the author experienced -- have no idea what game development in the US, France, or Canada would be like for example. So, that's cool since I don't really know what I want to do with my life except wanting to do something in game development which has lead to a series of stupid events. "I want to be a game developer." *learns there's several, several roles in game development that for some reason, never registered despite knowing what game credits list* Whoops.

Apparently, and this is spoilers, Nenechi is dealing with this in one of the later novels and Yun dealt with it according to TVTropes. Weird how Nenechi who I have nothing in common with and I at first didn't care for her -- she's hilarious to me now -- ends up having a relatable situation. Yun I kind of wished had more screen time or something. I like her, but she's kind of just there at times unlike Hajime and Hifumi or even Hazuki whose mysterious ways is a defining trait of hers. The feeling of creating something which Aoba felt when she submitted the first villager, Aoba, Hajime, and Yun when they saw Fairies Story 3 at TGS, and a bunch more. I don't know, but I kind of want that. To be able to create something, a game, that people can enjoy and experience.

All I can say is that I want a season 2 and I'm probably going to read the manga, but I need to figure out a way that's legal... and possibly support the author since it's a great series. Also, that ending scene of episode 12. Chipmunks!

And then there's this.

Other stuff: Finding out that Yoko Hikasa voices Laura Matsuda surprised me. It was like, "Wait, that's her?" Well, they do have fun personalities; bumbling dad figure and fun, "I can and will kick your ass" sister. Also, Rin is Moka. I'm wondering if Ai Kayano gets type-casted as the older sister and mom figure a lot.

Edit: Supposed to read about shoujo manga for manga class. Put on Gekkan Shoujo's OP on loop... replied to this. "Now Loading!!!!" is now on loop...

On the plus side, we got an OVA coming soon. So that's a plus. I'll probably continue watching Golden Time and Is The Order A Rabbit?? since most of the shows I've watched are finished.

Also just a thought but maybe list Skull Kid's as Ocarina? I know that he and many others only have the one weapon but it'd make it seem consistent with the rest. It's just a nitpick though, either way works
