A friend asked me about his pool the other day and he has PC | DOOM (#7 in Puerto Rico I think?) r2 or r3 iirc

the rest of his pool is nonames but he doesn't play this game anymore so he's probably just going to spam fsmash with lucina a lot or something
So he's gonna win his pool.

BAN•LUCINA

I could see Trela losing to Fuzzio (the Yoshi). He's really smart and his edgeguarding is gross good as Yoshi. I didn't realize Yoshi could turn around in the air with his double jump until recently. What a cool character.

My local gym (according to my brother, not me because I don't have it yet) is only a hop skip and jump from my home. :^)

There is a gym at work, not sure where the closest to my home is yet. Wish the servers would stop crashing...

I've caught a Bulbasaur, Pidgeotto, Rattata, and Pinsir so far. Gotta keep it up.

My parents are all happy I've taken my dog for walks. They don't know my true intent yet. :chuckle:

If I remember right Pokémon Go isn't coming out in Brazil or at least I heard such news a while ago.

So yeah I'll be locked out of the game.

Oh, cool, Fox and Lucario's hitbox visualizations are out... *sees Fire Fox* Screw you, developers. SCREW. YOU.

Thanks, same launch frame, less distance -- same distance as an average vertical recovery like Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, and Mario's --, travels slower, no KO potential, charge hit angles that send people away, no set knockback on the travel to try and let it connect well, AND it's got smaller, worst hitboxes while raising Falco's hurtbox because of that new pose. Hey, at least the last hitbox is giant... 2% piece of crap hit that can't KO... Thanks, I love having a worse version of another character's move. No, wait, I love having worst versions of another character's moves. The fact Falco's Fire Bird and Distant Fire Bird manages to both be inferior to Fire Fox and Twisting Fox is just hilarious. HILARIOUS. Can Falco have Rising Uppercut with Climhazzard's inability to sweet-spot the ledge? That would be way better as an Up Special and recovery than the piece of crap that is Fire Bird.

But I've caught enough :016: and :019: to get a :018:and a :020:, so I think that's good progress :3
Thank Sheba they let you trade extras for PokéCandy

Fox spins during it too which probably makes hitting him more difficult compared to Falco's static body. It's a bit weird that the single hit has Fox drilling into people while the multi-hit doesn't... Also, I hope more Special hitboxes are figured out since I'm starting to wonder about the hitbox differences between Falco Phantasm and Fox Illusion. Don't know about Brawl, but Melee had them hitting behind which isn't uncommon; moves like that, for example, Vergil's Rapid Slash hit behind instead of in front or on the character.

The big thing is the change in poses now. Fox's is the same, but Falco's was changed and it raises his hurtbox not to mention Falco Phantasm doesn't have a hitbox for the last half. Anyway, I see more people clank Fox Illusion than Falco Phantasm.

The other curious thing is Fox's Up Smash... I wonder if it really only has invincibility on his head which to me is kind of pointless compared to head and upper body or legs for a backflip attack. I see Fox manage to anti-air or beat out a lot of moves and I'm not sure if it's because it's frame 7 or if it's frame 7 and because of its invincibility that might be on his legs instead of his head. Weird Melee (and maybe Brawl) callback with head invincibility. Another thing on invincibility is why moves with leg invincibility don't also have feet or foot invincibility. Kind of makes sense to also make that invincible.

Also, meanwhile, Mario's Super Jump Punch disjoint... Can't wait to see that... Well, whatever, time to go back to Gransys and be consumed by Dragon's Dogma again.

It really does. Pretty bizarre design choice, but I guess Fox usmash is intended to be more of a punish/combo ender than an anti-air like Falco/Yoshi/most other usmashes. Though head intan still helps him trade by allowing him to low profile during startup at least.

Yeah, a character like Yoshi sure is cool! He has so many tools that take a ************TON**** of practice and skill, such as using dair!
If you look at comparable dairs from the rest of the cast:
Fox: 12 damage
Jigglypuff: 14 damage
Kirby: 7 damage
Mario: 10 damage
Yoshi's does over double the damage (triple in some cases) while being almost functionally identical.
And he has completely fair matchups!
Yoshi vs Jigglypuff man.
You're supposed to be the ruler of the air.
And then this dinosaur has way more airspeed, super armor at times, higher priority, and moves that are bigger, faster, and stronger too.
Don't forget all of the ~`~~~CO0L~~~~~ and ^^BALaNCED^6^^^^^^ tricks he could do originally!
And you have to remember the (◠‿◠✿)SUPER CH1LL(✿◠‿◠) Yoshi players!
I heard someone complaining that Yoshi's Nair is too slow.

Yoshi's frame 3 Nair is too slow.
I made jokes about not liking Yoshi.

She sent me death threats.
I love Yoshi s/he's just sooooooOOooO kawaii desuuuu!!! ✿‿✿ wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Gorl stop. JusT sTop.

Low profile could be done by having him crouch then backflipping like Guile during Flash Kick. Interesting, that actually happens when you charge Fox's Up Smash starting in Brawl. In Melee, Fox sort of stands during the start of his Up Smash. The low profile happens with Ryu's Up Smash which also has invincibility, so you're talking about low profile and I-frames. Granted, Ryu's Up Smash has less range and is much slower than Shoryuken which also has I-frames... For Guile, I guess it's sort of part of the charge, but it also looks like it's a part of the startup. Kind of hard to tell...

Guile's Flash Kick.

Charlie just turns around and frontflips. He only crouches when you charge and during his Super Combo? unlike Guile who looks like he starts from a crouch.

Crouch charge introduced in Brawl.

Melee Fox's Up Smash; starts standing up unlike in future games and Guile's Flash Kick.

Brawl and Smash 4 Fox's Up Smash without charging. He drops a little, but not like during his charge or Guile's Flash Kick.

Falco's Up Smash started without invincibility and was much weaker KO'ing about ~140% compared to the others KO'ing about 120% or Fox's 100% to 110%. So, it was weaker, less unreliable, and it was less safe while not having any real setups unlike Fox, maybe Mii Brawler?, Pikachu, or Yoshi. This assumes Pikachu's tail is considered a disjoint, but even then, Pikachu would have power and setups while having lowish startup, highish actives, and low recovery like Falco's and then there's Yoshi's... Kirby's would be the punish where it's about as or stronger than Fox's, but is slower which itself is countered by having I-frames throughout its hitbox, higher active frames, and lower recovery. Falco's lost invincibility in Brawl unlike Fox who kept the head invincibility. Invincibility with its active frames would have made Falco's Up Smash the anti-air and land trap Up Smash. Being weaker would be fine considering it would be the only one where its strong hit lingers and for 8 frames at that... Oh well. Now it's KO'ing sometimes under 130% while having I-frames and stupid actives.

Falco being given an identity during a game's lifetime isn't pretty weird... Other characters had their identity, their niche emphasized like Ike, Marth, Meta Knight, Mewtwo, etc., but not a niche being made. Problem is that at times, it kind of works like his Up Smash, but other times, it doesn't like his Uair. Already had an thing where it was a "strong hit" juggle like Corrin, Fox, Marth, Roy, or Yoshi's Uair, but instead, they make it a "multi-" juggle like Captain Falcon, Mario, Pikachu, and ZSS on the character who moves much slower in general and a character whose move hits differently, a frontflip to their backflips except Pikachu's who works it because Pikachu's startup is much lower making its front hitbox frame 6 to 7 about the same frame as Captain Falcon and ZSS's front hit. Falco's is like frame 11 and it barely hits horizontally compared to Pikachu's. The only really bad thing about it was the explicable sour-spot on his body which existed in Melee. Already significantly weaker than Fox's in Melee, so why did it need a sour-spot that was Zelda Bair and Fair weak in knockback? Carried over in Brawl... Without it and at frame 7, it would be a better move than it is today. The +8 to its base, but -10 to its growth killed its KO potential. Used to KO at like 160% on the ground, but now KOs at 190% which is funny because ZSS's Uair is stronger despite doing 6.5%... I would rather have its old frame 10 startup for its old knockback minus the sour-spot with the damage 1% nerf than keep his 1.0.8 Uair. Best of both worlds would be to have 1.0.8's startup reduction and sour-spot "fix" with Brawl / launch Smash 4's damage and knockback while a more "reasonable" one is 1.0.8 frame 7 startup, 10%, and no sour-spot with Brawl / launch Smash 4's knockback.

Also, speaking of charging animations or startup animations, I miss Brawl Fox's Down Smash startup and charge animation. He does this thing where he crosses one of his legs over before doing the splits. Smash 4 changed it so he lifts his right leg up before dropping it down for the splits.

I don't know, Smash has always had weird decisions when it comes to moves.

Morning girls. How's everyone doing? :4zelda:

Found out that Meet Your Match is now live in TF2. And there's been a lot of changes so far from what I've seen... and people are still complaining, but it's only been the first couple of hours since it came out. They'll fix the issues later today.

Gonna be cracking on with Uni stuff, more specifically on what I have to do next.

Limb stretch.

Those hitboxes standalone aren't actually very big either. Sure the range is useable (and you can choose the angle direction) but it can pretty much only hit where you have chosen to angle it.

I mean pls don't misunderstand I agree Yoshi has got the goods in this game, but Ftilt isn't actually one of them. I mean, it hits fast but its endlag is utter garbage and it isn't even remotely close to a kill move.

I've beaten the Illusory Shibuya dungeon, and gotten a plethora of side quests! :V

Quick question though, I keep on finding the Masked Salesclerk in 106, Shibuya and Daitama. Do her quests build up to anything? Or are they just repeatable side quests to get easy Melmarks, Consumables and Cash?

Didn't they actually nerf Yoshi's Ftilt from Brawl to Smash 4? I feel like Sinister Slush said something about that once...
