I think I'm starting to develop the "autopilot" habit when I play. Idk why I keep playing like that, but lately every single match I do I just autopilot my way through and usually end up losing or struggling against a tactic (like roll spam).

Consciously note when you do it and try to change the patter next time you're in that situation. I had a habit of pressing grab or shield from a tether and in SSB4 that buffers a get up attack or roll respectively (unlike in brawl where we were trained to quickly tap Z twice and the tether would snap to the ledge). I have to consciously think to tap toward the stage for a normal get up.

Yeah, don't you know? I mean, you would have to because you're also in the room. It says you're ready, so let me choose my character and stage real quick.
