I have a fear of heights so if it depends on me I probably won't be flying anywhere anytime soon especially on an animal.

Arcanine is a big, fluffy and very huggable dog, which you can also ride on, can breath fire and it can run really fast.

Basically Dog + Flamethrower + Motorcycle = Arcanine

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. And hey Arcanine is probably big and fluffy enough to be nice to use as bed, and warm too so it would be good for cold days =V

Jigglypuff would work. Cute, cuddleable, helps you to sleep, and Green flies around on her Jigglypuff in the manga. Plus it could go with you and no one would know because it's small.

Any of the Eeveelutions and Eevee would work as a pet. Fennekin would work too if you kept it as a Fennekin since evolutions could lead to "implications". Skiddo would be a cute farm animal!

Lilligant would be one weird Pokémon to call a pet... Groudon would be like Clifford the Big Red Dog, but more destructive, a lizard thing, and possibly a danger to society.
