OH YAY!! COMPLICATED STORY TIME!!!
Well let's just say that either I'm psychologically challenged, (How ideal for a psychology major like me) or Karma seriously has it out for me .
Every character I seem to put in my main slots on this site I usually always end up starting to slowly do worse and worse with.
In actuality I'm a
/ <----(Yeah go ahead and hate on me) Main with some thrown into the mix.I put MM and WFT as my mains on the site just to test this theory and just as I thought I started to lose all interest (And prowess) in MM and WFT over time, while my performance with the blue rodent remained largely unchanged.
So now as a second test I'm going to set my mains to normal on here to see it's effect.

I don't think I've ever teched a stage spike lol. I have **** reaction speed when it comes to that. Edit: why is this in spoiler? I hate mobile.

Lots of hitboxes can do this. I think it has to do with the hitbox landing when the opponent is behind the center of it or something.
Real talk though, shouldn't most competent opponent tech most stage spikes? I think that face is more appropriate when they DI an actual spike, tech, and survive.tfw you opponent techs all your stage spikes

I really want to find one character but none of them are clicking with me. Time after time, I find myself in same position I was before and it just fustrates me. I constantly think that I should quit Smash 4 and sometimes I've been on the very brink of dropping this game. I keep telling myself "Stay with Zelda, just stay with Zelda" but as much as I try I can't. I just find a character I gain interest in and after a while I realize that they aren't my character. I lose interest so fast and it gets to the point where I lose hope that anyone in Smash 4. I really want to go back to Brawl but then what tournament would I go to. Scene is basically nonexistant. I reqlly don't know.

While I'm not exactly always the person to ask about mains and technical things, I can assure you that giving up isn't the answer.
I'm sure you've used a lot of characters already trying to find the one that "clicks" with you and while I'd like to suggest some characters, I don't want to make matters worse, So I'll leave it up to your intuition.
You should remember that there's also a competitive scene out there for custom characters so maybe you could try toying around with some custom move sets?
I will say this, my little brother became part of the competitive scene recently (Proud older sister here) thanks to me finally pulling him away from Ike and settling him on Link. (Not too proud to say I've lost a few times to him)
So after that elongated post, Just remember to keep your hopes up.
I feel you. I've actually kind of quit this game I just didn't announce it.
I only play it with two friends now. I mean, I want to do casuals with all of you but the game itself really has me turned off for similar reasons to yours Macchi.
I guess it doesn't help that we make fun that you can't find a main. I apologize if what I said ever hurt you but just know I kinda relate ^.^

I have no connection to ganondorf. Nothing about his gameplay interests me either. I don't even like how hes designed.

Some advice is that if you do feel like you're playing worse with a character, stop playing for a while, or at least don't play the character for the rest of the day. If you're not feeling it, it's best to try and maintain composure. Think about what you've done wrong, and most importantly FORGIVE YOUR MISTAKES. You're human, so you're bound to have off days and play worse sometimes. Relax for a bit, and some other time, try picking up the character again and see if things get better.
Us gorls here can also be sparring partners if you get sick of FG too. Case in point, don't fret if you are doing bad with a character, just try your best to move on and get better from then. I've literally had first hand experience of this just yesterday, and now I'm feeling myself a lot better, so yeah. :^)

I honestly think I'm just going to stick to the Blue Blur for now seeing as he's the only one I'm consistently alright to good with.
MM will have to take a back seat I guess for now. XD
I've also noticed I'm the only Sonic main here. Joyful.

I won another match by only using Nayru's, Din's, and using ftilt once LOL. I recorded the replay :^) It's really boring cuz it went to Sudden Death but I could upload it later if you guys want. I can't rn tho cuz I have to go play at a concert so yeah in like 4 hours I can tho

Though, I would of course like the option to get old amiibos. Though, I'm more focused on Jigglypuff, Bowser Jr, Olimar, and Doctor Mario at the moment, so I wouldn't spend money on reprints anyway.
