Disjointed hitbox maybe? DK's B sends the foe backwards if he hits them with his pit.
I think it only happens when you're hit by them when your right inside of them. I don't know, it's just a weird quirk that males me question the laws of physics in gaming.

Up to you really. Was a good game. I did get greedy on that Spike though. And I felt like we were rolling an awful lot. o.o (We bringing FG into our matches. :yeahboi:)
The walljump-footstool was completely unintentional LOL. I'm still down to play though

I feel so discouraged about Smash 4. I love the game and I think it's really fun, but there's no character that I'm truly passionate about. I like Zelda as a character, but I don't think I'll ever get over her nerfs. She just feels incomplete to me. Sure, the elevator is stupid as ****, but that doesn't make up for the fact that most of her moveset was nerfed to hell. I've been experiencing Macchiato syndrome for a while now, but I just haven't been as public about it as he is. I've been bouncing from character to character, hoping that one of them would have what I want. Brawl Zelda and Sheik were perfect for me and getting better with them made me really feel like I was accomplishing something. Even in Melee, they were satisfying to use, despite Zelda being trash. Sm4sh Sheik isn't fun for me, and I already stated why Zelda isn't cutting it. There are other characters I like, but I'd have to learn them from scratch, and even then, I don't think they'd fill the void. I'd learn Peach, but I like Melee and Brawl Peach (especially Brawl) waaayyy better than Sm4sh Peach. Jigglypuff is fun, but she's not really what I want in a character. I like Rosalina as a character, but she's kinda meh to me in Smash. It's extremely frustrating to put literally hundreds of hours into Smash and still not find the character for me. I've never had this happen to me and I don't like it at all. I just want Brawl Zelda, Sheik, and Peach back. :/ Here's to hoping that Lucas is the one for me.

Not being able to find that one character that clicks seems to be a trend in this game.

I'm glad I figured out what I was doing wrong with Rosalina, because if I dropped her based off my initial impressions where I didn't jab or grab with her I probably would've just dropped this game over frustration of not being able to find a main.

Oh my god. I saved a replay of a Lucina vs Ganon MU. And Lucina just zero-to-deathed the Ganon via 2-stock. o_o
This Lucina is amazing. o.o
I doubt I can find any amazing ones of Shulk or Bowser. Since I did find that awesome one of that Zelda vs Peach MU a while ago.

Also, these replays I find are of Japanese players.

The people you find in replays tend to be pretty good I find. Sometimes I'll spend an hour watching them, and it's pretty fun.

There are plenty of characters I like and are fun to play, but I get bored of them pretty quickly. There's no one that makes me think,"Wow, I want to devote a lot of time to this character!" Maybe it's because I'm not good with any character and because I don't know how to get good with any character. Everyone makes it look like it's so easy to pick up a character and learn to use them, but I've just been sitting here clueless. I've asked how to improve and people always say,"practice." And then I ask what to practice and they say, "everything." And then I'm even more lost than before because that doesn't tell me anything. I just don't know what to do.

I feel like there are few "savants" in this game and more people who just spend a lot of time playing a lot of other people. While WiFi isn't bad, I think these same people tend to play offline a lot as well, something I suspect a fair bit of us don't do. I play offline once a week Wednesdays - and often not Smash 4 - and I feel I get a lot better in those games than the hours I've spent playing WiFi.

So I guess it isn't so much wanting to practice a lot... it's whether you get to actually practice a lot.

EDIT: Macchiato mains Robin now?

Why? Or I guess I should be asking, how long?

I have (mostly) the same opinion.

Just substitute "Brawl Zelda, Sheik & Peach" with "Wolf" and add "no one is fun to play as" and you have my exact opinion.

True. I really want to improve my Lucina now from seeing this one guy. I can't pronounce his/her name. But I can tell his/her Mii is a female with rose-tinted cheeks and colour is pink. And their Miiverse name is yatiyo_doyadoya. So maybe his/her name is Yatiyo?

Well, one thing I can make you ask yourself is if you're interested in the competitive environment. If you're not, I'd say **** it and just play all of those characters that are fun even for a little while. Play them all during the same friendlies session, rotate them each match and just slowly grow into being better with them with practice, or by watching videos. My little sister does that and she's still one of the best and most-fun-to-play-against players I know.

She actually had that same problem, because she used to main Lucas in Brawl. When Sm4sh came out, she tried Rosalina, Palutena, Dr Mario, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Robin, Megaman, Zelda, Peach, Jigglypuff and I don't remember who else, but she never felt fully comfortable with any of them. She got lucky and will get Lucas back, though.

I dunno, maybe if you keep playing random characters you will find someone that is at least funner to use than the others. I didn't settle down for Villager until like after three months of playing the game. When it came out I was trying to main Shulk, but then I just gave up on him and tried to use Zelda. THAT DIDN'T REALLY WORK OUT, THO. Tbh I dunno how I ended up with Villager, but I was just testing things around and foolin'. Eventually you'll find something cool in someone :(

I swear to God MKs F-Smash is anti Fox/Falco. Both are light as hell and they side-b right into the sweetspot of F-smash that kills 10% sooner.
Pretty much any Side Smash or move with a lingering hitbox is anti-Fox and Falco, especially Falco because Phantasm is stupid. Their recoveries are good, but they're so linear and predictable. I think their Fire Fox and Bird have ledge sweet-spot issues if you try to recover high to low which makes it even more exploitable.

Speaking of bad ledge sweet-spotting, does Little Mac even sweet-spot the ledge at all? I decided to play with Little Mac today and he would not grab the ledge even when he was right next to it. I wasn't holding down or anything, but it's stupid to not be able to grab the ledge. Yes, he's wearing boxing gloves, but explain to me how Villager, Pikachu, Lucario, Jigglypuff, Kirby, Meta Knight, Triple D, and Charizard grab the ledge fine, but a man with regular not stubby or T-rex arms can't grab the damn ledge. It's like he has to be at the exact height to sweet-spot while some characters can be a foot away and magically snap onto the ledge.

The competitive side isn't something I really care about, but maybe I will in the future. As for now, I'd just like to be decent with whatever character it is that I choose to main. I'd just like to be able to do well against others and see myself improving. That's what really matters to me.

Every character that I find fun has aspects that I really enjoy, but others that I really can't stand. Like with Jigglypuff, I love her aerial game and Rest, but her weight really puts me off from playing her. Or with ZSS, I like her nair, bair, and Boost Kick, but her grab is godawful and her recovery irks me for whatever reason. Peach is looking to be the most likely character that I'll main, but even she has things that I dislike.

I've played every single character in the game many times (except for Little Mac, whom I've never touched and don't plan on it), but none seem to really click with me. I probably will heed your advice and continue playing the random characters I find fun, but it really does irritate me that I can't find a main. Thanks a ton for the advice.

To expand on this, instead of Sakurai outright saying we're adding a princess:

*Screen does that "New character!" cut viusal with the fire*

The screen pans over Sarasaland, or Daisy's circut or something, and it does a few glossy shots of things on the track, (Including a lovely full shot of a Daisy statue, maybe. :secretkpop:) then it shows some karts drive by.

It starts to focus on the edges of an orange kart, but we can't see hew's in it. At this point everyone be like 'DAISYDAISYDAISY!!!!"

then it pans up on the car

*WHAAPPOOOM*

"PINK GOLD PEACH ****S UP EVERY DAISY FANS' HOPES AND DREAMS!!"

Ya she be in that orange car

Then her trailer continues, and you find out she's no Peach clone, but she fights by using a kart as a weapon!!1!!! :troll:

AND NOT JUST ANY CAR! DAISY'S CAR!!!! :secretkpop::secretkpop::secretkpop::secretkpop::secretkpop::secretkpop::secretkpop:

Was coming up with it as I was posting it ...LOL. As soon as I read the initial one (And laughed really hard.) the idea for a trailer like that dawned on me.

Then I just did a quick google search a fell across that banner of PGP in a SSB4 reveal.

@ Lorde Lorde , what are you looking for in a character? Maybe @ Macchiato Macchiato should go over this too, but someone else tried and Macchi returned to his old ways... >_>

We can break it down to gameplay, character design, and personal reasons.

So for gameplay, it's kind of self-explanatory. I like fast, strong attackers even if they're a bit slow. Fast can be like Ganondorf who isn't really fast, but having an average speed move be able to boot people off like that is where the "fast", hard hit comes from. Falco already has fast, strong attacks, but he's not that fast as I've ranted about. So, when I play as Sheik or Bowser, it feels like there's a desync where yes, Sheik's fast, but she doesn't have the impact Falco, Pit, and Greninja have while Bowser is strong, but he isn't strong and fast like Wolf, Ike, Snake, and Dr. Mario can be.

I also like having freedom to do whatever I want and have it be effective. So, Captain Falcon is fun, but it feels like you only really use jab, Dash Attack, Nair, Uair, and Bair along with dash grab because they're so good compared to the rest of his tools. Sort of the same goes with Meta Knight, Luigi, and Shulk. It's from a limited and biased view, but I like that every move on Falco aside from Fire Bird can be used freely and flow well together or that Ganondorf kills with everything thing so it just becomes a, "Do I want to stomp this fool or do I want to put a fist metal cracker through his jaw?"

I also prefer fighting up close which is probably why I like fast, hard hitter since I can fight well up close and not have to deal with longer startups. So, Mega Man is awesome as a character, but I don't like the whole lemon game deal and zoning with Duck Hunt, the Links, and Villager aren't my thing.

Character design is self-explantory as well. For one, I don't like Wario because he's a grubby, nasty, greedy fellow. If he just had bad breath and didn't use farts to kill people, so basically more like Wario Land Wario, then I'd be more inclined to use him. Greninja looks dorky, so Greninja's just fun to play as, Sheik, well, I guess I always had a thing for tomboys, and Pit being so upbeat and dorky is fun since he brighten things up whereas mister doom and gloom, edge master Dark Pit makes me not want to play as him and feel more cynical. There's also Yoshi who's an adorable green dino. For Falco, I guess it's because I like birds, I like his cocky attitude, and his combat-ready "old-school" pilot outfit he and Fox share is just cool to me. If he had an actual bomber's jacket with the fuzzy collar and all, Falco would be on the top of my list as the coolest character in the game.

Character design isn't just limited to how the character looks or acts, but how they fight as well. So, Little Mac boxing is just cool since I'm a martial arts enthusiast, but how Villager, Duck Hunt, Jigglypuff, and Charizard fight are just weird to me. It just doesn't flow with me and I just have no idea how they fight. Robin's magic doesn't really appeal to me and Lucina being a straight up clone to Marth without tippers just kills it for me. So, this part would be more of animation and how they move and fight.

Personal reasons would be like someone mains Robin because they loved Fire Emblem: Awakening or someone mains Zelda because she reminds them of their older sister. For me, I main Falco out of rage against people who trashed on him and I just want to make a point that he is capable. Fun factor is also another reason like Ganondorf's just freaking hilarious with how strong he is. Challenge can be one which is why I don't want to use Fox much because he's so easy to use it's not even funny. And then there's the borderline creepy part like, someone has a fetish for red hair, so they main Bowser...
