I managed to grab all the customs I wanted with Falco (Fast fire bird and void reflector). Anything noteworthy about customs Falco that I need to know (I know of that fast firebird tech but how do you execute it)?

Falcon remains the worse thing on Fg aside from Good R.O.B's. I beat one a whioe ago as lucina.

Man after playing with Greninja's shiny alt palette, I find myself looking at his actual shiny coloration and being bothered by just how much better the Smash version of it is.

He'll probably suffer more hitsun but the difference is probably really negligible

Hm, okay then. The frogs are going to discuss Shulk again so I was wondering if a histun increase in those modes could lead to something like Up-Throw > Up-Air working for longer or D-Tilt -> Up-Smash becoming easier to time.

@ FullMoon are you talking about the navy or the black one? I thought the navy palette was supposed to be Greninja's Smash shiny palette. It looks a hell of a lot closer than the black one, imo at least. (only wondering because that pic you posted of all those Greninja poses had a couple of the black palette)

I'm pretty sure Greninja's shiny coloration is black so yeah I was talking about the black palette.

's FSmash vs. 's FSmash.

Let's take a look at 's FSmash first, since he's who I use. It hits on frame 17, has a sourspot near his body that does 14% and kills roughly at 130% against a middleweight. The sweetspot hits at a distance for 18% and kills at about 105%. Both hits last for 2 frames. Meanwhile, 's FSmash hits on frame 15. The initial hit deals 15% and has the weakest knockback, KOing around 150%. It lasts through frame 17. Then comes the strong hit, dealing 18% and KOing at approximately the same percent as 's. It lasts for 3 frames. The final his only does 12% but it scales quickly and KOs a little earlier than the initial hit. It lasts for two frames, bringing the total duration of the attack to 8 frames. Both moves have fairly low cooldown though I think 's is longer.

Basically, I'm peeved that Pikachu's FSmash gets to linger but mine doesn't even though it's a dang torch. An additional musing: the charge window for Pikachu's FSmash is apparently on frame 14. The move hits on frame 15. Does that mean that, after charging the move, it releases in 1 frame?

Just played one of the names on the Irish power rankings, and... well, I thought I did fairly well - almost beat him with Marth, switched to ZSS and two-stocked him, and then almost went to time in the third match, until he got a lucky b-air with about 5 seconds left. What did I get for my efforts? "ZEROSKILL" Normally I'd just laugh it off as FG being FG, but it's the fact I recognised the name (even seen him around SmashBoards a few times), and that he's supposedly one of the top players in the country, that's really gotten to me.

The sweetspot/sourspot mechanic is lame but I'd be more or less okay with it if the move still had a lingering hitbox. The post I made was really just me being frustrated that Pikachu gets what we had but we don't.

It was actually inspired by a good Pikachu player on FG. Good use of Quick Attack and Thunder Jolts as well as FAir and BAir. Pikachu seems to be able to play an effective offensive game tbh.

3DS FG's players has toughened up since the last I saw them. No longer falls for the obvious Fireball -> Dash grab, and actually DO use tilts against Luigi, and they punish rolls. That's a thing to happen.

Still don't DI much though.

I'm aware of that; I was actually playing decent players on 3DS FG a while ago. I've honestly seen them get better for months as I kept playing.

With Friends still master race though.
