Oh darn. I'm very late to the party here, but this sounds really interesting. I'm not sure if I can make something in only a week, but I'll try to come up with something... with Tingle in an extremely prominent role! :bee:
Haha, mine doesn't include Tingle at all...

I will have mine completed shortly. I'm currently typing a really long notepad file with the storyline and dungeon descriptions.

Well we'll only continue the contests if we get entries, so no entries = no future. Take that into consideration. Every entry counts, no matter if it's somewhat rushed. If it turns out to be the best, then it wins anyways.

Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect. Just original ;)

The Legend of Zelda : Goddess Medallion

Intro - So this is my entry. An idea I've had for a while (at least the beginning and end) and so I'm excited about what you guys think. Enjoy!!

The Legend of Zelda : Goddess Medallion

Backstory – Link is a young boy in the town of Tesselet, located in south-eastern Hyrule. He is around the age of 11-13. He lives with his aunt and uncle (unnamed, as the story will progress faster than that). His town has the honor of having the Royal Family during their annual event honoring the goddesses.

It is here where you take control of Link. Similar to Ocarina of Time where you take control of a younger Link, but more in sync with Twilight Princess where it’s a short time before the main game starts, you learn the basics of movement, rolling, dodging, etc. He is also given a slingshot by his uncle. As he sets out, he finds a young girl, around 10-12, surrounded by Skulltulas. Using his trusty slingshot, you blast all the baddies to wherever they go. The young girl, happy that you rescued her, introduces herself as the Princess, Zelda. She ran away from her family during the festival, hoping to get away from the boredom of being in public and seeing what it is like in the real world (as every Princess tends to do). She takes Link and ventures around before returning to her family, telling the brave thing Link did for her. Although disappointed in his daughter, the king sees great favor in Link for rescuing her. Because of this deed, Zelda would like Link to stay with her as her “bodyguard.” The king laughs at this, and thinks it would be a grand idea (to play along with, although this has significance in a little bit). Link’s aunt and uncle find he would be better off in the castle grounds than here in a small town. They also feel a great thing will happen to him one day, and he would return one day, maybe even as a great hero!

Fast forward a couple of years. Link and Zelda are best friends. They are always around each other. In fact, Link has become somewhat of her bodyguard. He trains daily with a sword while she trains in the art of magic. Here you take control of Link again. You learn the basics of sword play, as well as some cool finishing moves. Zelda wants to practice her magic, so she magic against Link (a la Din’s Fire) so he can also practice with a shield. Around this time, Link is 15-16, Zelda is likewise 14-15.

Another couple of years pass. Link is now an official Knight of Hyrule, with the highest order to guard the Royal Family. However, the king becomes ill, and now Zelda has the highest authority in the land. As such, Link is mostly her private bodyguard. Since they are teenagers (so around 18 for Link, 17 for Zelda), and with their constant being around each other as little kids, one can assume feelings develop. And you’d be right. Zelda begins flirting more with Link. She beckons him to come to the gardens for a walk. They are ambushed by a group of Moblins, hoping to take the Princess and overthrow power since the king is ill. Something happens though. On their left hands, a triangle, separated by three pieces, appear, each with one section of the triangle lit up. They feel powerful, and as Link uses his sword play, Zelda uses her magic, and they vanquish their foes until all are gone. They do not yet realize the power within them. Only that they lock eyes and feel a greater connection than any person could have.

You’ve taken control of Link for only a few bits, but a huge section is dedicated to battles. Although they are together more often than not, fierce enemies are always tracking them. Although they are successful in bringing to justice their foes, they are unsure why they are in constant attack. It is then they realize something really was different. They noticed more and more the triangle imprint on their hands whenever they were close to another. Finally, after many hard fought battles, they decide to learn the secrets behind their imprint. And what they learn changes everything.
The Triforce, a sacred symbol left behind when the goddesses left Hyrule. Every few generations, when the previous incarnations have gone away or was no longer present in the world, the Triforce would find a new bearer. Three there are, one for power, one for wisdom, and one for courage. Each representing the one trait most present in them. With this title came great power, but at a cost. The Triforce always seek to become one again, and there are those who would wish that never to come to past.

Looking for more information, they find who previous bearers were. They found what shocked them the most. One was held in a great warrior, one in a divine princess, and the last in an evil thief, who held great power within him. Wherever he was, there was destruction. No one knew in what form he would return, but sages kept a vigilant watch. The other two always prevailed over this great evil, but at the cost of death and destruction to their land. They decided then something they did not want to ever do, but they had to. To keep from more evil returning, they separated. Although they knew each held a great love for the other, it kept the land safe.
Zelda returned to her magics and studies. She read up frequently on the Triforce, keeping hers in balance, staying ever watchful for the “Evil Thief”. But her thoughts always went to Link. Link returned to Tesselet. Being the Knight he became, he was the protector of the village. As Zelda did, his thoughts always returned to her.

Eight years pass. The king grew very ill, and unfortunately passed away, leaving the kingdom of Hyrule to be ruled by Zelda. She never took the title of Queen, opting to stay a Princess instead. She begat a daughter, named Zelda (age 9), although the father is unknown. Some believe it to be one of the Princes from another kingdom, or one of the nights. She does not say. Link met a farm girl by the name of Malen and ended up marrying her. They have a child, named after his father, Link (age 8), who grew up knowing the way of farming and swordsmanship at a young age. Link is dressed in his green apparel, although he does not don the hat just yet.

Here the tutorial stuff ends, and the real game begins.

Taking control of the Adult Link (now 27), hears of a disturbance up in the mountains above Tesselet and the temple, the Temple of Ages. The village cannot worship the goddesses as a huge monster has taken refuge. He travels up, obtaining a boomerang, and defeats the creature known as Gohman, a beetle-like insect with ten legs huge pincers. Using the boomerang, he stuns the legs as he walks, then uses his sword on the pincers to take them off. Once off, he can now target the head inside the casing. After the defeat, he finds a strange artifact, a scroll with text written in a strange language. The sage in the town says only one such person can decipher the text. However, he has grown very feral lately. “Seek out the man in the Temple of Seasons, but beware his nature. He does not take kindly to strangers lately”. He gives his goodbyes to Malen and young Link, and sets out to the west, into the desert.

The second temple houses the same types of enemies found in the first. Link battles through, getting his trusty bow and arrow along the way, and defeats the boss, Yansera, the sage, who utilizes fire and ice from his trusty orb and staff. The sword can reflect the magic he sends, but it is the bow that stuns the orb on his staff, giving him time to use his sword against the powers of the staff. Link finds the sage was possessed by a creature in his orb, who is vanquished when the orb shatters. Link shows the parchment to the old sage. He notices the text is “ancient Hylian”, one not spoken over countless generations. The deciphered text reads as such –

“Those who seek out the two halves of the great Medallion, is granted power beyond belief. The Pendent of Light, located in the heavens themselves, shines to those who seek the true path. The Pendent of Darkness, located deep underground, keeps you unseen to those who seek you. With these pieces come great deeds, or grave misfortune.”

Yansera realizes what has happened. The scroll was almost stolen, and his possession was meant to decipher the scroll to the enemies. He knew not the group looking for the medallion, nor the deeds of which the medallion would be used, but of the man who took control of him. Agahnim, once a powerful sage like Yansera, now apparently going rouge for his own deeds. He tells Link to hurry and find more information on the locations of the Medallion pieces. Link knew if anyone would know, it would be Zelda.
Link quickly makes a quick stop back home. It is here where Malen gives him a hat. She knew the power he held, and thought a hero should be dressed like one. They embrace before he leaves, but not without a small stowaway with him.

After which, he travels to Hyrule Castle to greet the Princess. Although time had passed, there was still a strong connection between the two. She introduces her daughter, when suddenly Link’s son jumps out. Link seems angry at first, but Zelda keeps his peace, and asks the young man for his name. “Link, why, that’s your father’s name too! Meet my daughter, Zelda. I think you two will get along fine.” They play while Link and Zelda discuss the medallion. In her studies, Zelda came across a legend of this Medallion. This great medallion granted those who brought it together peace, harmony, and even life. But in the wrong hands, it could bring war, destruction, and death. The Medallion became known as the Goddess Medallion, to signify the power it held. The Pendent of Light, located in the heavens, could only be accessed by the Sheikah, to signify their divine trust with both the goddesses and the Royal Family. The Pendent of Darkness was held by those close to the earth, groups known as the Goranos, a creature described as having a rugged, big, round look, but also that of an aquatic like creature, with fins and gills. They hold power over the water and the earth, and guard the pendent in the ground itself.

A message is relayed, saying a small village is under attack. A small group came in and started attacking, and need and man that could be sent. The town… Tesselet. Link, with a worried look on his face, tells his son to stay in the Castle, and sets for home. Zelda keeps the children at bay while he leaves. He finds a lone weapon, Bombs. He arrives to see only death and destruction. He picks off the enemies who stayed behind, including a boss named Unbran. A competent warrior, Link utilizes bombs to break off his armor, revealing the man inside. After his defeat, he could find no survivors. His aunt and uncle were nowhere, his friends gone, his wife…Malen…the house they had was burnt to the ground, no signs of life anywhere. Falling to the ground, he lets out a scream of anger. His passion for revenge now fills him, and only one thing he can remember. “This great medallion granted those who brought it together peace, harmony….and even life.” He returned to the castle to tell what happened. He told his son of his mother’s fate. Without warning, he left his son in the care of the Princess and set off to find the Medallion pieces and find those responsible. At the gate, Zelda confronts him. She is worried. She knows the pain he feels, but is shouldn’t cloud his judgment. He takes it in with little remorse, and sets off. Zelda becomes very worried for him, but knows in the end, he will do the right thing, and goes back to take care of her daughter and his son.

He arrives in a long lost city in the North-Eastern part of Hyrule, a town left deserted a long time ago, known in the ancient tongue as Kakariko. It is here the Sheikah seek those out who are worthy. Beasts circle Link, and he easily defeats them. The Sheikah see this deed, and confront him from the shadows. Thinking them his enemy, he draws his sword. They hold him back, saying they are not their enemies. “You are a brave one. You, clad in the green gear of the hero, seek something only we can access, do you not?” It is here Link begins training in the art of the Sheikah, as only they can enter the Temple of the Heavens, where the Pendent of Light is held. Link learns the art of the Hookshot and Chain, a weapon that can bring enemies down with deadly accuracy, and from a distance which the enemy may never know your presence. He successfully completes the training, and uses his new weapon to gain access to the entrance. The door to the heaves is accessed in a high place, and once the door is open, it takes you to a new realm very few have seen (a la the Temple of Time in Twilight Princess). He solves the puzzles within, finds a new weapon in the Goddess Orb (works in the same manner as the Dominion Rod, where he takes control of specific things to reach places high up he couldn’t land with just the Hookshot and Chain), and defeats the Guardian within, Malchent, the spirit of the swordsman who guards the temple. The Hookshot and Chain is used to gain high places where stone guardians lie. When the spirit is stunned, Link uses these and drops them on the spirit using the Goddess Orb. He gains the Pendent of Light and sets of to his next destination.

He sets off to the land of the Goranos. However, the mountain lake of Goranos City is vacant, save for one lone warrior. He says an evil wizard came in and demanded the Pendent of Darkness. We told them no such thing existed, but he knew it did. He captured and killed most of his brethren, leaving many starving in the Temple of Earth. He begs Link to save his friends, and gives him the Goranos Tunic, which helps him withstand the pressures of both extreme heat and being underwater. “The Temple is located deep in the mountain, in the depths of a hot spring. Only with this tunic can a human survive like we can. Swim until you see it. And make sure you stay near air bubbles to give you a burst of air.” Swimming deep beneath the mountain, he finds the Temple of Earth. There are many spell-casters keeping watch over the Goranos. Defeating each one releases the Goranos to fight at your side later. Link comes across the Megaton Hammer, an ancient weapon used by an ancient race, and uses it to get to the boss. Inside is Gelenaton, the top general of Agahnim’s army. His spells are powerful, but with a mighty quake from the Hammer, he is rendered helpless, and is defeated.

Finally the Medallion pieces are now Link’s. His only concern is revenge for his village. He sets off to the burnt ruins. However, an unexpected visitor arrives. It is Zelda. She knows the anger in his heart, and knows what power can be wrought with this device. “Link, I know what brews within you. You only know hate, only anger. You want to use the Medallion for good purposes, but at what cost? Those who took your loved ones away may die, but countless others could be destroyed. You don’t know what this power could do to you. What it could do to Hyrule. What it may do…to your son…” Link hesitates for a while, as Younk Link and Young Zelda appear from behind. It is then that Link realizes he is doing this for the wrong purpose. His wish would save few, and destroy many, even if they deserved it. He kneels to the ground, and the mistakes he had in his mind vanish. He goes to embrace his son and Zelda.

But a powerful wizard intervenes. Agahnim throws a powerful spell on Adult Link, and takes the Medallion for himself. Link is encased in ice, and cannot move. Zelda tries to break the spell, but his magic is more powerful than hers. She asks him why he would do such a thing? “Do you wish Hyrule to become a desolate place, with no life, but you as a ruling power over countless millennia?” “No...” he replies…”I plan to GIVE it life, by giving life back to the one man who can bring a new age for Hyrule…Ganondorf”. Ganondorf, who had been killed generations ago, the “Evil Thief” who held the Triforce of Power, had an ideal world planned, but had been stopped abruptly by the goddesses, by the sages, by the other two sides of the Triforce. Agahnim wanted that world, and only Ganondorf could provide. He causes a powerful spell to get rid of Link, the Princess, and the children. But Zelda manages to warp out before damage could be done. It is here Hyrule goes under a dark age. Agahnim takes over as ruler after killing all other sages and Royal Family. He orders the search for the grave of Ganondorf, hidden from those evil enough to seek it. Zelda and the children hide in refuge for very long, taking in those still loyal to her, and finding a way to free the frozen Link.

Seven years pass. Zelda is under the guise as a Sheikah known as Shoka. Young Link matures into a young adult and, like his father, is one of the best swordsman around. The Young Zelda studies magic like her mother, but also becomes an extraordinary instrumentalist with here flute. Zelda finally finds the old sage Yansera, someone powerful enough to break the spell on Link. Link becomes incapacitated after his release, and cannot hold his own, although Zelda could not be happier.

You now control Young Link, now 15. He has dabbled in the art his father before him did, and is capable of utilizing all the weapons his father had. Zelda tells him only one thing can give his father the strength he requires is locked away in the Temple of Time. Her daughter will be joining him, as it requires a strong spell-caster to pass the dungeons trials, and she is the only one powerful enough to help him without needing to help the older Link. “The dungeon is located within the forest. When you find the relic, you will warn me through this pendent. I will use what energy to warp your father and myself to your location. Here we will use the relic to bring him back to strength.”

Using the techniques taught to them by the Sheikah, Young Zelda and Link travel to the Sacred Grove, the holding grounds of the Temple of Time. Inside they solve the puzzles (in a similar manner to WindWaker but using the Goddess Orb instead to control Zelda), Link finds a weapon, the Rod of Elements, and fights the boss, a dragon guardian names Onetexa. Using the rod to fire Ice, Fire, or Water at the dragon (dependent on what traits is most apparent, like Twinrova and the Mirror Shield in Ocarina of Time), the dragon is vanquished and the relic is made clear. It is none other than the Master Sword. Zelda uses the Pendent to communicate with her mother, and Link, Zelda, and Yansera transport over.

The Triforce is glowing within the adult Zelda and Link as they take him over. Link sees the sword and struggles to get up. He reaches towards it, but has a difficult time unsheathing it from the stone. His son comes over, and both pull the sword from the pedestal. Link gains the strength he once had, and has become the warrior he once was. Zelda exclaims, “Now the sword of evil’s bane is in our hand. If they find Ganondorf, we will be waiting for him. Now then, let’s leave, and take care of Agahnim, so we can live the life we should have lived.”

A strange rumble takes place once they return to their refugee camp. It seems a powerful force has risen! It is has they feared. Agahnim has found the grave of Ganondorf, and was now attempting to resurrect him! The power of the Triforce now swelled in the two. The connection they felt now felt the anger and power of the “Evil Thief”. They knew where it was taking place. In an underground cavern, underneath the burnt town of Tesselet. Link had a destiny. He was meant to be the guardian of that town. He was meant to meet Zelda that day and become a Knight, cause only he could protect the village where Ganondorf slept. Although he could not save the village from the enemy, he was meant to stop this plight when it started. He grabbed his old gear, and then looked upon the man his son became. He gave him his old sword, and asked if he would battle with him. As his son nodded his head, they set off for their old home, while both Zelda’s stayed behind, to amass an army to fight those who would hold against them.
In the underground cavern, Link and Young Link set off to see the evil. They bested all the enemies within, and found a new weapon in the Light Arrow. Once they set foot in the gravesite, Agahnim awaited their arrival. “It is too late hero. He is risen. Not you, your son, the triforce, or that little sword of yours can stop him. I’ll make sure you never get the chance!” With a swift hit, Young Link is knocked out, leaving Link to fight the battle. He fights and wins, killing the wizard who caused all the destruction. He picks up his son, and heads back to the surface. A mass army is waiting for the warrior to lead them on. Ganondorf, now with the powers present in him, has taken seat in Hyrule Castle where Agahnim set his army up. Ganondorf now is aiming for those who dare oppose him, and seeks the other two parts of the Triforce. Link steps up and becomes leader of the army.

Zelda sets him aside with her daughter and his son, now being tended for his wounds. Knowing what may happen after this charge, she tells him one secret she never told before. The Young Zelda before him…was his daughter. She never loved one such as Link. Even though they were told to move on, she never did. Young Link and Young Zelda look at each other, always knowing their connection was different from their parents, that they were as tight as blood. Young Link is set aside to have his wounds tended while the Young Zelda helps him along, wanting to know more of her little brother. Zelda then takes Link and spends the first night with him in the longest time she’s ever known.

The battle for Hyrule Castle takes place. Link, with his Master Sword at his side, commands the army to fight the initial wave while Zelda and he take the battle to Ganondorf. He leaves his son in charge while he sets off. Inside the castle, Link utilizes all the gear he’s obtained to reach the lower levels of Hyrule Castle. It is there Ganondorf reveals himself. “I know you. You two have caused me nothing but pain. Yes, you may not know it, but you two have been the cause of my misery for countless generations. Because as it seems, Power cannot live alone. It must be in balance. It must be complete. Therefore, I will show you something…more powerful than you could ever know. The Triforce will be mine. And I won’t let you stop me this time!!” Showing his part of the Triforce on his hand, he sends a wave of magic toward them both. Trapping Zelda within, the Master Sword keeps it off of Link. He charges in, fighting the battle of his life against his eternal enemy. He deflects the magic he sends him, as he did as a child growing up in the castle. He fires the Light Arrows to stun him so he could send a strike. He parried attacks with his sword so Ganondorf could not strike him.
In the end, it was Ganondorf who could handle the attack. “Not again…I will not LET YOU RUIN THIS!!” He warps out of the castle, and attempts to bring Hyrule asunder. He breaks apart the earth. Soldiers from both sides watch in horror as Hyrule rises and falls beneath them. Link and Zelda appear outside to witness the horror. Yansera comes with one last vision. “The sages of old tell me…the way to defeat him. We must send him where no one can reach him. We must send him into the Sacred Realm so he may be guarded for all time! We must send him where his minions cannot reach him again! Link, you must stun him with your sword! The Master Sword is the only thing that can down him. Only then can someone of noble birth and powerful magic can send him away!”

Link approaches Ganondorf one last time, with the intention of sending him to a place no one can find him. Ganondorf sees his enemy, and stops his casting. He takes the power within him and transforms into the beast he’ll always be, Ganon. Link utilizes the same tactics as before, using his sword and Light Arrows to stun his enemy long enough to deal the blow. Dodging his magic attacks, his sword attacks, and his gigantic size, all goes well. He is about to deal the final blow…

And something happens he did not predict. He feels this sharp pain. He looks below. Ganon’s sword was through his stomach. Ganon looks down and cackles manically. Off in the distance, Zelda screams in shock. Link tries to push himself off, but the blow is mortal. Ganon tosses the sword aside. “I’ll finish you once I get the Princess. Then power will be MINE!” He takes out his trident and heads for the Princess. Soldiers try to defend the Princess, but each to no avail, as Ganon swats them like gnats. Link can only look on as he pulls the sword from his body. Yansera quickly pulls a protective shield to protect those still left alive. Young Link thrusts his sword towards Ganon, but he bats him towards Link. He looks down to see the Master Sword. Here, you take control again of Young Link. He charges forward with weapons in hand, and another small battle ensues. Ganon uses his powers to strike, but Young Link finds the teachings of his father in him, and is able to strike down Ganon again. “I WILL NOT BE STOPPED!!” He bats away the Master Sword. It lands in none other than the hands of Adult Link, who removed the sword from his body. He charges Ganon and lands the finishing blow. Yansera cries out for Zelda and Young Zelda to send him to the Sacred Realm for all eternity! As they strike, Ganon writhes in pain. But fortune is not with Link, as Ganon grabs him before being sucked into the Sacred Realm. Link finds himself looking at Zelda, and Zelda at Link. A tear goes down her cheek as he is being sucked in. Link can only smile, knowing he now saved countless lives from oblivion, including those of Zelda, his son…and his daughter, and he knew Zelda would know his happiness. In a blink…both Link and Ganon were gone.

The group stood in horror with what happened. Drawn a mortal blow, Link managed to defeat Ganon, but was thrust into the Sacred Realm for all eternity. Zelda was worried, hoping there would be a way to bring him back. Yansera replied with this –

“The sages of old speak to me. He is within the Sacred Realm as we speak. His wounds having been healed…he will serve as the guardian of Ganon. He is to battle Ganon until the need arises for him to return…or if Ganon is released. Until then, he is trapped forever.”

Zelda became distraught, but realized with Link in there, Ganon could never escape, even if that meant she would probably never see him again. She took it upon herself to rebuild the kingdom, and honor Link as the “Hero of Realms”. She took her daughter and her soon to be adoptive son within the castle to rebuild.

And it was then that Hyrule was rebuilt to be the city it once was. People began to work to bring back their kingdom. The Sheikah and Goranos came out of hiding to help the battered civilization. When all was done, peace began again in Hyrule.

Zelda became Queen of the land. She kept the Legend of Link alive in the hearts of people, telling of the brave deeds he did, and of the courageous man he was. The Triforce now was gone from her hand. It seemed a new bearer was needed, as her prime had past. However, she always looked towards the monument of Link, hoping one day for his return back into Hyrule.

Young Zelda became as her mother, a Princess wise in the way of books and magic. She studied every day, and always honored the father she never knew. Knowing his destiny, Young Link set off on his own to wander the wilds, to protect those who needed saving. He was now the diplomat for many races, and kept peace in the land. He became renowned for his traits and skills. Both Young Zelda and Young Link became what their parents were. Great leaders and powerful in the art of combat and intelligence. However, they kept a secret from others. A powerful marking on their left hands…were beginning to show.

The Legend of Zelda: The Hero's Crest

The story opens with the image of a young horseman named Link (perhaps 17 years of age) training in the peaceful Hylia Village, home of Lon Lon Ranch overlooking Lake Hylia. It is near dusk, so Link must return home to rest. The village elder and mayor, Rauru (who was rumored to have descended from the Sacred Realm, or the Land Beyond the Heavens, as referred to by the Hylia people), spots Link walking his horse home and asks him to stop and speak with him in Rauru's home. Rauru tells Link of ancient Hero who slayed a massive beast with a sacred sword, later given the title "Master Sword". The beast tried to conquer the power of the goddesses and all of Hyrule, so the goddesses constructed a gate to the Sacred Realm, known as the Gate of Light. Only one who owned the Stone of Heroes could enter it. The ancient Hero obtained the legendary Stone and killed the beast with the blade that descended from the spirit of the goddesses. However, all of this was merely legend, but it was said that the Hero built the Hylia Village and was an ancestor of Link. After Rauru had explained all of these things, it had turned dark, and Link started back home. But suddenly, a dark figure appeared and knocked him out. When he awoke at dawn, Rauru had taken him into Link's house and informed him that his parents were taken by a dark ninja of unknown origin. Link was given a dagger and left the village on his horse in search of his kidnapped parents.

On his journey, he was suddenly attacked by a moblin while passing the forest entrance. He fainted again after taking a harsh blow from the moblin's club. He was taken into the forest and left to die, but was eventually discovered by a young Ikori (a forest tribe of tiny human-like creatures) girl, who summoned a group of Ikori to carry him into the village. He was revived and fully healed by a fairy, given the Ikori Sword (an average sword handed down by the Ikori for ages) and was asked to visit the Great Deku Tree, the guardian spirit of the Ikori Village. The Great Deku Tree asked him to retrieve a Sacred Shard in the depths of the woods. So Link ventured deep into the forest and discovered an ancient temple, The Forest Ruins, the first dungeon of the game. When he returned, he brought the shard to the Great Deku Tree, who explained to Link that it is one of three shards of the Hero's Crest. And because Link was able to survive the forbidden Lost Woods, he is destined to save Hyrule from darkness. Only the Hero chosen by the Gods could survive the Lost Woods.

When Link returned to Hyrule, after finding his horse dead, he ran into Rauru, who had been searching for Link in Hyrule Field. Link explained his story to Rauru and informed him of the Hero's Crest shard. Rauru was stunned at the image of the shard and knew at once Link was destined to save Hyrule from evil. However, there was no evidence of any evil in Hyrule at the time, which made Rauru more alert, so he instructed Link to quickly find the remaining shards. Legends told that the goddesses broke the stone into three shards to protect the Sacred Realm, allowing only he who had the strength to collect all three shards to enter the Sacred Realm, and hid the other two shards in the Fiery Mountain Peak and the Vast Desert.

At this point, Link has the option to travel to either area. However, one of these areas does not include a dungeon. This will be explained shortly.

Link continued through Hyrule Field and arrived at Death Moutain, which in this game is less of a mountain than in other Zelda titles and more of a mountainous Goron territory, and the famous cloud is not yet present. The Gorons are building an army base to protect themselves from other races that may intrude. To enter the Goron territory and search for information on the Crest Shard, Link must prove his strength to the Gorons. At this point, he is armed with the Spirit Bow, so he must prove his archery skills to show that he can protect the territory. Once his challenge is completed, the Gorons reward him with the Goron Armor, which is evidence that Link is a member of the Goron tribe, even though he is human. So Link must search a deep cavern under the Goron base filled with ancient treasures and documents passed down over thousands of years. This is the second dungeon, the Gorons' Cavern Depths.

After completing the Cavern Depths, Link can now travel to the "Vast Desert", which is the territory of the Gerudo. The Gerudos' City is a relatively small, dry, well-protected desert town, surrounded by Gerudo guards. When Link announces that he will join them, he asks for information on the Crest Shard, which the Gerudo know nothing about, so they capture him and take him to their leader, Ganondorf, who they believe to be the Sage of Spirit, to be tried and possibly executed. When Ganondorf noticed the Forest Shard drop from Link's belt while attempting to choke him, he said he would let Link free if he made a deal with him: 300 rupees in exchange for the Shard. But Link refuses and decides he will fight Ganondorf for it. But suddenly, Ganondorf calls him a "bold and courageous kid" and vanishes. When Link escapes Ganondorf's tower, he meets a kind, starving Gerudo woman who was left for dead by Ganondorf because she refused to kill an intruder. She notices the shard in Link's hand and informs him that the missing shard is not, in fact, in the desert, but in the depths of Lake Hylia, in a sunken ship used during a great war between the Gerudo and the Sheikah hundreds of years ago and that the legends passed down were false.Trusting the Gerudo woman, Link travels to Lake Hylia.

The only problem, though, is that Link cannot breathe underwater. So he speaks to an inventor at the shore of Lake Hylia, who can sell Link an Underwater Respiration Device for 1000 rupees. But of course, Link does not have, nor can fit in his wallet, 1000 rupees. After explaining that he is in search of the Hero's Crest Shard, the inventor agrees to sell it for a cheap 150 rupees if he destroys the phantom living in the sunken ship. After receiving the Respiration Device, Link can swim underwater until he discovers the ship. This is the third dungeon, Battleship Hylia. And yes, after defeating the phantom, Link finds the third and final shard.

After connecting the three shards, Link receiveed a telepathic message from Rauru to meet him in front of the Castle Town gate. Once Link arrived, Rauru informed Link of the power of the Hero's Crest -- that one who owns it may climb the Starlight Tower, east of Castle Town, and enter the Gate of Light. However, suddenly, a Sheikah claimed to be the Shadow Sage, Impa, hurried to them riding a black horse. She told them that the Goddesses spoke to her, saying that the Sage of Spirit's soul has been possessed by a great evil and that Link must come with her. So Link and Impa rode to Shadefall Village, where Link discovered his parents' corpses buried under the floorboard of a Sheikah house. Next to their bodies is a sealed stairway leading to a basement. Link broke the seal (with some type of item he collects in a previous dungeon) and advanced into the fourth dungeon, Shadefall Cellars. At the end, he discovered the mysterious ninja who murdered his parents torturing Ganondorf, the Sage of Spirit. So Link must fight and destroy the dark ninja and rescue Ganondorf. In return, Ganondorf restored his health with a strange dark magic and added an extra heart container. However, Link began to feel a mysterious weakness that he could not explain. Ganondorf explained to him that it is a common side-effect of Gerudo black magic...

Once Link and Ganondorf escape the cellars, Link is given a black Sheikah horse (in which the player is allowed to name) and continues to Castle Town and the Starlight Tower, the fifth dungeon. After climbing the Starlight Tower, he finds himself in a strange world above the clouds, where he first sees the magnificent golden doors of the Gate of Light. So as Link touches the golden door handle, a powerful sensation of darkness overcomes him, and he falls to the floor in great pain...

When he awakens, all is dark around him, and three golden figures are floating before his eyes -- the Goddesses -- Nayru, Din, and Farore. They tell him that only one who owns the Stone of Heroes could enter the Gate of Light. Confused, Link reaches into his belt, only to discover that the Hero's Crest is missing! The Goddesses proceed by telling him that since he is their Chosen Hero, they revived him after the Gate of Light brought his fatal death upon him. They mentioned that the Gate of Light will destroy all who touch it if they do not possess the Hero's Crest. They tell Link that he must meet Princess Zelda and receive a Blade that belongs to the Chosen Heroes. At this point, Link stands up and realizes that the Starlight Tower and Castle Town are destroyed and the Gate of Light is in Hyrule, so Link must quickly find the Hero's Crest. Link now travels to Hyrule Castle and speaks to Zelda, who claims to have spoken with the goddesses of Link, and receives the legendary Master Sword from her. Now he must exit into Hyrule Field...

Just outside of the Castle Town gate, he spots Ganondorf slaying Rauru. Link attempts to stop him but cannot make it in time. Ganondorf explains to him that he has betrayed the other Sages, stolen the Hero's Crest (this explains Link's feeling of weakness), and destroyed Castle Town and the Starlight Tower, and now Hyrule has broken into civil war against four tribes -- the Gorons, Zoras, Gerudos, and Sheikah, that each strive to obtain the Hero's Crest and enter the Sacred Realm now that it is accessible. Ganondorf then escapes on his horse west toward the desert. Suddenly, Impa appears and explains to Link that he must follow Ganondorf into the desert and enter the Sand God's Fortress at the end of the desert to reclaim the Hero's Crest.

When Link reenters the Gerudos' City, it has grown by twice its size and is protected by Gerudo warriors, whom Link must destroy. After advancing through the city, Link must cross the Forbidden Desert until he reaches the far west, where the sixth dungeon, the Sand God's Fortress is located. After infiltrating the fortress and climbing to the western balcony, he is reunited with Ganondorf, who suddenly disappears and creates a phantom clone in order to protect the Hero's Crest from Link. Once Link defeats the Phantom Ganon, he is warped back to Hyrule, and learns from Rauru's spirit that Ganondorf has imprisoned the Forest, Shadow, Water, and Fire Sages, but Rauru has managed to rescue the Forest Sage. The remaining Sages are sealed in war bases in each of the tribal territories -- the Stone Peak Base (The Goron base located on top of Death Mountain), the Icefall Base (The Zora base located at Snow Wasteland beyond Zora's Domain), and the Shadow Crypt Base (The Sheikah base located in Dusk Valley beyond the Sheikah Graveyard), in which Link must destroy in order to rescue the confined Sages. The player may travel to these three dungeons in any desired order.

Once Link has successfully destroyed each base and rescued each Sage, Link travels to Hyrule Castle and speaks once again to Rauru's ghost, who tells Link that Hyrule Castle and the Hylia Village are utterly destroyed, resulting in Zelda's death, and Ganondorf has built a massive tower, in which he has named Spirit Palace, over Hyrule Castle's remains. This is the final dungeon where Link and Ganondorf reunite for the final showdown. Link discovers from Ganondorf that he is not the Sage of Spirit, but the mysterious Gerudo woman who knew the truth of the location of the final Hero's Crest shard was (This explains why Impa received the vision of the imprisoned Spirit Sage). Ganondorf swore he would destroy Link, access the Sacred Realm, and conquer the entire world. But Link would not allow it, so he defeated Ganondorf and set the Spirit Sage free.

Link had now finally reclaimed the Hero's Crest and was granted access to the Sacred Realm. In the end, Link obtains the full Triforce. The Sages construct the Temple of Time to forever protect the Sacred Realm, where they also kept the Master Sword, guarded by the Door of Time. Zelda became the seventh Sage, the Sage of Time, and was rewarded with the Instrument that could control the flow of Time. The Hero's Crest was destroyed and forgotten, and the Sages ascended into the heavens to dwell in the Temple of Light.

The Legend of Zelda: Shattered Force

Prologue: Hyrule is a thriving and prosperous landscape, with an increase in modern technology with a now budding Industrial Revolution sweeping the nation. Weapons and armor have received a huge upgrade with new refining techniques to make them stronger and more durable. But no mortal blade could ever match the power of the Legendary Blades. Blades forged from the tender hands of the Seven Sages; the Master Sword, Magic Sword, and Altus (Sage’s Sword).

A samurai named Yonko, leader of the Black Shadow ninja, wanted the most powerful blades ever forged, even though his own blade, Muramasa, was seething with black magic. A young man named Link tried to stop Yonko from plunging his evil into Hyrule, but he was no match for Yonko’s quick attacks. Suddenly, the Triforce of Courage marked on his left hand glowed brightly; giving Link extra strength, but Yonko was not phased, with all his might, he swung his blade. The dark power of Muramasa affected the Triforce of Courage so much so that it split into three parts, with Link only keeping 1/3 of the Triforce of Courage.
While the remaining pieces of the Triforce of Courage were scattered about, they awakened new heroes to stop the new evil that has arisen. Two noble men, Robert and Marlow, were chosen to fight by the Triforce of Courage alongside Link to crush the opposing force of black magic from Yonko.

So far, I'd have to call Phantom's my favorite, but the page-stretching logo upsets me.

Getting close!

Hey guys, Skyler and I were planning on having the results up this past weekend but real life has intervened like a fleet of TIE Interceptors.

But alas, we're getting there. I'm about 5/6 done judging (do the math) and Skyler is about 1/3, if memory serves me correctly. We'll get the results to you guys soon enough, so stay tuned!

Originality: The story was definitely original. Even though you included only four dungeons (five including Hyrule Castle in the end), which is considerably less than usual, it played into the story well. Including any more dungeons would have required an extension of the story to encompass more plot twists and significances, which could have either added or detracted from what you have presented us with. However, there were definitely some instances where I felt “originality” was a bit forced. Bringing Agahnim back with a similar role as he played in ALttP, I felt hurt the story a bit. Characters like Zant, Veran, and Onox, all servants of Ganon would not prove to work if brought back again with similar roles. They are incredibly exclusive to their respective games and I would not want to see them return ever again. I feel no different for Agahnim, so his inclusion was definitely odd. The Goranos were also an iffy nod to the Goron and Zora tribes, and while this hybrid form was a helpful way to keep your story in the lesser-dungeon-based spectrum (because adding both separately would probably constitute two separate dungeons, rather than the one Earth Temple that they shared), it too, felt forced. Though in my mind’s eye, their appearance and habitat proved original in that you eliminated Death Mountain and Lake Hylia, rather merging the two realms without explanation, and that definitely helped.

But back to the story. You brought in elements of Ganon’s resurrection and sealing in the Sacred Realm which have been seen many times before in the series, but these are important elements to the continuous story, and so it works. It sets up enough room for at least one other legend to precede it, explaining many things such as, “why was Ganondorf dead and buried beneath Tesselet; who was the tribe that had the Megaton Hammer before the Goranos (yes, first thing that came to mind was the Gorons and somehow, they and the Zora fused over time); what background do the Sheikah have storywise?” and other such questions. There are elements that tie this to the canon games, but the way it is arranged helps to push it just over the line so that it can be considered part of its own Zelda universe. I would love to commend you on the concept of locking both Link and Ganon in the Sacred Realm, and as touchy a subject as that may be comparatively to other fictional fantasy universes, it draws on real-world Mythologies and is the ultimate reproduction of the simple concept that Midna said in the epilogue of Twilight Princess, “Light and Darkness are like two sides of a coin; they cannot exist without one another,” and when sealed in the Sacred Realm, that ultimately immortalizes this idea.
7/10

Adherence to Guidelines: I’m going to keep this section a bit smaller and more direct in my response:
- Basic plot outline: you wrote a whole story. Awesome.
- Link, Zelda, and Ganon played major roles. You got it.
- Name of world: Hyrule. Done.
- You had four (five) dungeons and a basic overview of the boss fights.
You had an intense description of the final conflict and truly conveyed the epicness of it (I use that term not loosely, but honestly, because it was undeniably an epic).
9/10

Cohesiveness of Ideas: I suppose this was addressed quite a bit throughout my judgement of your originality, but if it wasn’t clear enough, I’ll pinpoint more exacts. The dungeons, particularly the first two, seemed tacked on simply for the sake of meeting the guideline. They did serve as a means of introducing Yansera, but that alone did not save them from feeling extraneous. Also, the fact that they drew on Oracle of Ages and Seasons for their namesake alienates them even more from the rest of the story - which is well woven - because their elements are not mirrored or expanded upon at all, sans a possible abstraction of “ages” relative to the differently aged incarnations of Link and Zelda. Aside from this, I feel that the world, although not widely fleshed out (the story feels like it takes place in only a part of Hyrule, which isn’t bad at all), is cohesive under the limits that you set up with your story. It’s not too much, it’s not too little, and the world is certainly designed to appease your plot’s needs.

Phantom7’s entry

Originality: I had a hard time finding a sense of originality in this story, which I think is mainly attributed to the lack of explanation, but I’ll get to that later. The story unfolded too familiarly, with Link coming from some distant village, heading to the Great Deku Tree, and into the first forest dungeon. Following that, he ventured to the Goron lands - which certainly drew a smirk out of me (I’ve longed to see a vast Goron expanse with scattered tribes) - and into the expected fire dungeon. I know he could have chosen to go to the Gerudo desert, but storywise, it makes more sense for Link to venture to the Death Mountain area first. So he then ventures to the water dungeon, then a shadow dungeon, then what felt like a super-climactic dungeon, which ends up with Link basically in the Sacred Realm with the Goddesses, yet he’s cast back to Hyrule only to see more death? If there was an overwhelming “original element” to the story, it’s that everyone close to Link dies, and it didn’t even convey sorrow or much more than a spark of hatred for Ganondorf’s deceiving of the heroes. The story depicts heavy elements, but they aren’t given the proper weight.
7/10

Adherence to Guidelines: Basic plot outline: It felt very rushed and was blatantly created as a prequel to OoT. Implications = direct wording in this case. You never mentioned OoT, but it is heavily implied that this story is related directly to it. The guidelines urge to keep it separate from the canon legends.
Link, Zelda, Ganon, check. But, Zelda seems like she was thrown in hastily.
Name of world: Hyrule. Okay.
Dungeons: only really explained 6 of the 10 listed dungeons. You met the requirements, but you left a lot of desired room to be filled by introducing these other interesting dungeons without explaining them.
3/10

Cohesiveness of Ideas: There’s definitely a sense of cohesiveness, but the lack of background information tying these places together forces the worldy structure of your legend onto the story, which feels like something unrelated. You hint at the look of Hyrule with the “thousands of years ago bit,” suggesting that this is perhaps a more technologically advanced land, but you don’t specify it as such. The Death Mountain area was most easily conveyed and I enjoyed reading it, but the rest felt incongruent. Comparing this to the actual games feels like it overdoes it, as if Tetsuya Nomura was in charge of rebooting Ray Harryhausen’s Sinbad films. It seems overworked, incomplete, and rushed.

Blaziking17’s entry

Originality: I dig the RPG-styled approach you’ve set up, but I’m having difficulty understanding exactly how it works. We did not mention anything in the rules and regulations about the ‘numerics’ of the legend; about how it would play as a game and the system driving that, so you’ve introduced something to the contest that needs addressing. Anyways.. it has a strange flavor to it, though I can’t help but recall an “anime” feel. It certainly feels unlike Zelda, and it may be in part to the generic names such as “samurai” and “hydra” that it detracts from the original flavor that Zelda usually delivers.

I want to know much more background information such as the origin of the Black Shadow ninja, Zelda, and especially Ganon. You wrote this out as if we should know the origin of Ganon, but the entries for this contest should be disconnected from the official series, so where does Ganon come from? How do we know that he is evil, what has he done in the past to prove this? You set him up like The Emperor from Star Wars -- he pulls Vader’s strings the whole time and we don’t really see him (save a hologram) until the end of the original trilogy, but unlike Star Wars, we know who Ganon is.

You stated that it’s based in an industrial era (which off the bat is great) early on in your entry, which I read as a promise you’re making to the reader that you will fulfill and convey this steampunk look and feel that Hyrule has taken on, but you don’t live up to that promise. It’s definitely a stab at originality because Zelda hasn’t really seen that yet, but I would have liked for you to elaborate much more on this. The setting is definitely important so rather than writing just a header, write the full report. How long has Hyrule been developing and progressing itself? What kind of technologies have the inhabitants discovered and implemented into society? I read your story expecting an overload of industrialization, but the dungeons are described in an old-world fashion and the ninja aspect really takes me away from the feel. However, I can’t say that it’s unoriginal in the Zeldaverse, just odd.
4/10

Adherence to Guidelines: Basic plot outline: You only detailed the beginning and end of the story. The majority isn’t properly written to bridge these two sections. The story is cut short due to the lack of narration in the dungeoning, which makes up the bulk of this legend.
Link, Zelda, and Ganon are included, but Zelda and Ganon seem to play minor roles.
Name of world: Hyrule. Good.
Dungeons: You listed all of the dungeons, slightly explained what they were like (only by their titles), and properly orchestrated the boss fights. I was definitely able to picture myself fighting them but only with Link, not Robert and Marlow.
6/10

Coherence of Ideas: Robert and Marlow felt very out-of-place. For the first time, our iconic hero is equal to these two whoevers. In order for me to follow the three as a trio, I need to know more about these two new characters, otherwise I feel that Link is automatically subjective to their strange importance. The trio is usually Link, Zelda, and Ganon, but now Zelda and Ganon seem to play minor roles with the focus on these three heroes. A conflict arises from this: you’ve put too much focus on the statistical information as if this were a game, so I can’t see a reason why Robert and Marlow would be heroes at all other than being accomplices to Link. Do you choose which character to play? Do you play as all three? I just can’t picture it well.

Again, I’m going to pinpoint the three clashing elements: industrial era, old-world dungeons, and ninjas. These three could be woven together with proper writing, but it’s like trying to fit a circular, triangular, and square block through a triangular hole. Only one of them is going to fit. Cut the blocks into proper shapes and you have a coherent story.

However for what you’ve provided, it all fits together in a strange miasma. It’s unorthodox, but it works for the most part, despite the inadequacies that I targeted. Overall, it feels thrown together and very un-Zelda. The games are known best for being so well characterized in every aspect of their design, and this is not.

lanky_gunner’s entry

Originality: This is, needless to say, quite the original piece. The story was clever, though a bit predictable (seriously, who DIDN’T think the new Zelda was Link’s daughter?), and I liked Agahnim coming back. Going back to Link and Zelda though, I wonder why Link would leave Zelda when she was quite clearly the bearer of his son? Why’d he ditch her for Malen? That made me question the motivation behind his leaving, something that you didn’t explain.
8/10

Adherence to Guidelines: Not much to say here, really. You obeyed them for the most part, but didn’t quite give enough description on the dungeons. You gave almost too basic overviews on them, which felt a lot like “yeah he walks in, solves some puzzles n' ****, and kicks this dudes ass”. So, you didn’t actually disobey the guidelines – you just didn’t expose enough upon them. But I did enjoy your boss battle descriptions. I felt that those were very well done. Sadly, I did find it incredibly strange that Link was bent on revenge, something that I feel is incredibly uncharacteristic, so you will get a point docked because of that too.
7/10

Cohesiveness of Idea: It was extremely well put together and nothing felt out of place. It is clear that you put thought behind this, so…

Originality: This piece is somewhat original, but your breaching of the rules is blatantly clear. Dude, we said don’t tie this into any official series entry – this is a pretty blatant telling of the Unification War. While your telling of said War is original… the fact that you’re using it isn’t. You will have points docked for that.
7/10

Adherence to Guidelines: And here comes the whammy – you disobeyed the rules. You are NOT supposed to tie this into any of the official games. I don’t care if you didn’t mention OoT or a Unification War anywhere in your entry. It is so heavily implied that your Legend is the Unification War that it just cannot be ignored. On top of that you didn’t include a description of any of the dungeons or boss fights. You pretty much just said “Link goes to [insert place] and fights [insert boss] and leaves with [insert object]”.
2/10

Cohesiveness of Idea: And here is where you preformed well. Everything came together, and while Link getting together with Ganon was a bit… strange, it all turned out okay in the end (sans your rule breaking). Good job here.

Originality: This is certainly original, but perhaps not in the best way… Link gets partners? The primary antagonist is a leader of a group called the “Black Shadow ninja”? It’s just… not Zelda. It feels a lot like you wrote up something for a game that played like Zelda, and just replaced a few names with Link, Ganon, and Zelda.

Adherence to Guidelines: Where were your dungeon descriptions, man! Outside of that, perfect.
8/10

Cohesiveness of Idea: It feels like a lot of dungeon names and boss fights were slapped together with a very weak story. This isn’t particularly cohesive at all, though as a comment that doesn’t fit elsewhere, I loved you putting in stats for each individual playable character and the amount of pieces of heart. Though, I still can’t give you full credit here.
3/10

Overall: 15/30

And the winner is..
lanky_gunner

Congratulations!
Meh... I had a feeling he would win. His post included more details dungeon wise and story wise. The thing is, though, I intentionally drew some blanks in the storyline for the reader to figure out on their own. But after all, it seems like most of my points were deducted because of the ties to OoT, which isn't a good, solid reason in my opinion. It's not Zelda if it doesn't tie into the original story somehow. It's just Link, Zelda, Ganon, and the Triforce in another world. But lanker_gunner's story was great and very original, and I must say, Blazking17 put a lot of hard work into the dungeons.

Above our reviews, we were and still are thrilled that the three of you spent the time to enter the contest. That matters more than winning because trust me, it was fun reading all three stories. They were different in their own right from one another (really) and stood alone individually. For this contest though, we aimed to create a platform where the basic elements in Zelda can be transcribed into a completely individual spectrum apart from the canonical games. None of the entries were bad at all, it was simply a matter of which met, fell below, and went beyond the criteria. With time, we will refine and adjust the rules and guidelines, so to lanky_gunner, Phantom7, and Blaziking17, think of yourselves as the first three (kind of interesting how that played out, heh) to help shape the ground for future contests. Without your entries, we could not continue this contest. Thank you all for entering; I am truly obliged.

To be honest, I did kinda throw this together with little time I had.

Anyway, I deserve the score, and congrats to Lanky for his win....

Hopefully there will be more opportunities for these kind of contests!! This was cool!! I enjoyed this very much!!

TBH, mine was a bit rushed. I kept forgetting about it and typed about half of it the day I posted it. I had all of the ideas, though, I just had to get them together. I just might make this into an actual game because I still have a Zelda engine I started (this is why I left Project Zelda), and since I'll have plenty of time to do so, the story will progress more smoothly.

Oh man, huge sigh of relief right now! The competition was rough, but I can't believe I came out on top! Before I go into thanks, as I was reading the comments, I wanted to give a quick answer to some of your concerns as to why I did what I did, to clear up, cause it looked like there is a little confusion in my story, but I'm very glad to go into more detail on the subject.

To Spire, I know some of my originality in picking enemies and temples was a little off, but I did that on purpose. I wanted a connection to other Zelda games in the series in a different way. We know Vatti has become a secondary boss in the series, so I wanted to have Agahnim appear again as the secondary boss, even if it is a similar role to LttP. But again, I was merely trying to bring back a huge part of an older game while still maintaining a connection to the Zelda series as a whole. And I do realize I tacked on the names of Ages and Seasons to the Temples, but it was merely to keep the connection to the series and make an original Temple I could see the denizens of Hyrule could worship within (we have enough Forest Temples, something new had to happen!). Otherwise, I like the comments you gave me man.

To Skyler, yeah, it was hard to keep the whole secret of the daughter actually being Link's, but I tried to keep it a surprise. However, to explain, the son is in reality NOT Zelda's son, but the son of who Link married when he left the knighthood. Zelda bore the daughter, but Link never knew it was his. But the reason he never went back in the first place was to keep Zelda out of harm's way, as being in close proximity to another bearer of the Triforce causes danger in the land of Hyrule. I wanted to have this play a huge role, as Zelda and Link held a greater connection in this game than in any other. Lastly, I'm sorry I didn't go into great detail when it came to dungeons. I felt it would of taken away from the story if I described the dungeons in greater detail, as this story was meant to be more about the story than the dungeons. I just wanted to convey the weapon you got, and how to destroy the boss with the weapon, while in the meantime adding other perks to it, such as the connections between other games. But overall, thank you for your kind words.

Again, sorry to have to explain some things, but I thought any confusion after the matter should be explained so a greater sense of the story is told, cause I really wanted to tell this story. It's something I prided myself in, but I hope I cleared any gaps in the story.

So thank you for giving me this honor. I got your PM Spire, and as soon as I think of something, I will let you know. Thanks for giving me a good fight and giving me the congrats Phantom and Blaziking, and hopefully I'll see more stories from you guys! All you guys rock!

Hm, just as a note for future competitions, it may be a good idea to give the story overview and then have an entirely different section dedicated to dungeons. Such as:

"Once upon a time Link met Zelda. First he went to the obligatory Forest Dungeon and killed King Crackalacka with the Hookshot. Then..."

And then in an entirely different section go in depth with the dungeons.

I am currently working on the winning prize for lanky_gunner and it's tough work (but it's-a coming along a-great!). Once it is completed, we will begin YLoZ #2 shortly after. Stay tuned guys!

Hope it isn't too soon. Despite all the time I've had, I've barely done any work on my entry. :urg: Maybe I can slam some of it out today.

Don't worry, it's definitely not too soon. I'm working on it, but it'll take quite a while to complete.
