Why would you ask permission to open a youtube account? If your parents allow you to spend a day playing games with strangers from across the state, I'd assume they wouldn't mind you having a youtube account.
My parents are weird about giving permission to things.
Yeah, mine are too, well my mom, and I'm 14...

Overt-protective parents suuuuuck...

Age like really has nothing to do with it, in all honesty.

Razer *****.

And iunno if anyone remembers Prodigy from Canada? I actually don't remember if he's from Canada or not. But he was like a 9 year old beast at Melee.
Age has nothing to do with skill, but it does have something to do with being able to go to tourneys.

my parents dont want me going to tourneys- they think it's a waste of time and money
same here even after the tournament I placed third and got 57$ they still think it's pointless and dumb ( I had to do a ton of yard work to go to that one )

In my opinion if u go to tournies that r in your area occasionally its fine. Nerds r people who travel around the world to play brawl instead of hanging out with people.

umm, i thought video games were for the younger crowd? i dont know why anyone would want to play smash when they're 18 and up, no offense to any of you who do that... usually, people that old attend college, and therefore, have no time for video games
I'm sorry, but I heavily disagree with that post for these reasons alone.

1. 80%+ of tourney go-ers (in any game/genre) are over 18.
2. Those people have probably been gaming even before their adolescence.
3. Why does gaming have to be limited to just younger audiences? If a 19 year old or even 32 year old were to play a video game, would you pout upon that thinking their actions to be taboo?

I'm not attacking you per se, but the nature of your post seems too closed-minded for me to just let be.

Oh and those vids are pro.

I went to a tourney last month. The TO was the youngest person there, at 17. Most people were over 20.

@bob: i agree 100%, but my friends are very closed minded.
@mario:1. why when they could be, i dunno, makin out?(haha, i dont rly know wht else they could do besides study or hang out) if they aren't regulars, that's perfectly fine. if they only play smash all day, i have a problem with that... idk why
2. ok. why can they just give it up?
3. ok, 19 year old is fine, but a 32 year old should go get a job, a wife, start a family, own a house before even THINKING about smash bros.
im not attacking you either, just voicing my opininons

I don't want this to become an un-necessarily long argument so I'll just say this.

1. It's quite possible that:

a)At the age of 18 or so, they're not wanting/going to college at the moment.
b)If the guy was a gamer, that could be a way for them to hang out.

And well, the last part I didn't think was valid: Who'd be making out daily? º_º;

2. As gamers, they enjoy playing video games regularly.
3. More multiple choices:

a)The 32 year old may already have those and still be a gamer.
b)His/Her partner may also be a gamer (by chance).
c)Example: Sakurai and Miyamoto are over 30. They make games (Miyamoto used to, at lease). So there's the possibility that they're gamers themselves.

And that's all I have to say. :D

Why do you assume that someone who has time to play a video game competitively is a nerd?

Its called get a job.

With who? Friends they dont have.

2. As gamers, they enjoy playing video games regularly.
Most people have more responsiblities, when they're older. Even if they enjoy video games they still have to balance work and play.

3. More multiple choices:

a)The 32 year old may already have those and still be a gamer.
Grow up.

Thats a real job, they make good money.

no sir, i dont think that. i said my friends would think im a nerd if they saw me going to a tourney. some people just need to lrn2growup. wow, i just realized i started a war that i will most likely lose to around a 1000 people... way to go... and besides, these people could be doing other things besides smash. and bob saget, u have good points, but i think u are just being plain mean. i agree with mario :D

So, if it's true that you are "sexy", and other people view you as "sexy", then how could your friends even begin to fit into their heads that you are a nerd?

Ok, so friends would think you're a nerd for going to tourneys. You have two choices:
1) Flash the money you've made in their faces and tell them to shut up.
2) Do nothing if you don't have any prize money and all you can do is argue the fact that it really isn't nerdy at all.

I recommend number 1.

Better yet, flash money you took from your mom's purse and lie. They can't prove that you didn't win it.

Boy, will they feel like ****.

No, really. You won't win a tournament. I won't, Mr. GwJumpman won't.
Just steal your mother's cash and make them jealous.

Say your screen name is Ally and tell them to look you up. (I'd say M2K, but Ally looks cooler when he plays as opposed to M2K)
