I've had this on my mind for quite some time.

Has there been any kids-teens participating in tourneys, or are considered to be "tourney-level"? If there are any vids of friendlies or tourney matches, I'd like to see them.

I mean, I'd like to participate in a Melee tourney sometime soon, but I'd like to see if there are already some who have around my age (14).

FOW is either 13 or 14 and he places high consistently with Ness.

I'm 16 and I attend tournies. :)

Ultimate Razer, Trela, and Rudy are Texas tots that're pretty **** good.

SOLID's 14, he started tournies back when he was 13.

There's a lot of kids out there.

Yeah, FOW's 13. He beat Tyrant in a set and took a game off M2K.

At my local tournaments, we have a couple kids that regularly show up. They're siblings, and the sister always places in the top five, and she can't be any older than 13 or 14. The brother is eight or nine, I believe, and his Yoshi is top-notch.

They beat me in doubles. :(

I'm 13 and i know kids my age are probably really underrated at tournies. They don't expect to advance.

I'm 11 and I've been to a few tourneys, though the highest I've ever gotten was Winner's Finals.

Arghh!!

I wish I had a Youtube account! Should I ask my Dad if he could open an account and upload my videos on his account?

Any ideas?

P.S. I use (in order) Falco, Captain Falcon, Fox, Luigi, Meta Knight, Snake and Ganondorf.

Any ideas on how to put up videos?

umm, i thought video games were for the younger crowd? i dont know why anyone would want to play smash when they're 18 and up, no offense to any of you who do that... usually, people that old attend college, and therefore, have no time for video games

They're underrated because they fight players like you and assume everyone's bad.

@Straked: The tourney I went to was at Anime Los Angeles and wasn't shown on Smashboards and the con's website didn't have any results so yeah...

And in case your wondering, the tournaments rules were 3 stock, FD, Lylat, Yoshis Island, and Battlefield set to random. And it was a single match, not best of three or anything.

I wouldn't consider that a real tournament, then.

Oh wow, crappy. He could be 12... but I remember him saying somewhere he was 15.

Well gang, looks like we have a mystery on our hands.

Blahblah's lying through his teeth.

♥ My post count is my age. Deal with it.
This makes me wonder who the oldest smasher is around here.
:/

All these young smashers remind me that graduation is around the corner. :D

Then I'll become oldddd.d.... :(

Laptop and Dazzle (plus some cords) = great video footage.
If you can't afford, use some camera or something.
(just put it on a stand so you're video doesn't look like you're in the middle of an earthquake :mad088:.)

oh yeah I'm 15 and I got third place at ann arbor top of the park a week ago idk if it was posted on smash boards tho I'll have to go to the site and see if i can find da results.

They wanted it done fast since they had to close and midnight so it was single elimination and it was 3 stock, 5 min, ffa with 4 people each round they made it 1 vs 1 after there was only like 10 people left I lost to a pro he was meta I was meta then lucario then I lost and got 57$

Why would you ask permission to open a youtube account? If your parents allow you to spend a day playing games with strangers from across the state, I'd assume they wouldn't mind you having a youtube account.

My parents are weird about giving permission to things.

One of the problems with being younger is that u have to have your parents to drive u, etc. Plus, they may not even let u go.

I've never been to a tourney before, it is it a lot of fun? What is the typical age? And TRDS i face 20 year olds and win and smetimes i lose to people who r younger than me. Age doesnt matter when it comes to video games.

Age like really has nothing to do with it, in all honesty.

Razer *****.

And iunno if anyone remembers Prodigy from Canada? I actually don't remember if he's from Canada or not. But he was like a 9 year old beast at Melee.

Exactly my problem. I was about to go to UCLA revival II, and I went there, and after being there for about 15 minutes, my dad made me leave.
