Know we generally voted against 4th party fighters but thought id open that discussion up for a final time. Know another thread (Battle of Ages) did something similar & thought it could be a fun way to have a refreshing conclusion of this thread. Have even seen in Smash speculation people more generally ok with the idea of simultaneously opening & closing the door on 4th party stuff so thought it could be a very different conversation than it was when we were discussing it during the 1st game.

Not sure where Activision falls now but I figured I'd go for this. Diablo 3 is huge in 2023 so I figure this would be a good tie in character. She would have a moveset making use of blood magic.

Never played series. Looked up locations from the latest game & this was the 1st result & seemed fitting considering our fighter choice.

Was probably my favorite location from the game, not much else to say.

A character with a connection to Lilith who i thought had a cool design.

Was unsure if this would count since its kind of based on DND. I considered Shadowheart or Astarion but this felt like one of the most fun options. We don't have a true axe user yet. She would have a berserker playstyle. She's one of the most popular companions in the game.

Epic and MS have a long standing relationship going back years. They devolved the original Gears of War. Fortnite is the biggest game in the world and getting a character from it would be a big coup for our roster. He would have a mix of shooting and building, and would have of her Fortnite skins as alts.

Borderlands is a game series I associate with Xbox weirdly, it did have DLC that was timed Xbox live exclusive. We already have 2K in the game with Bioshock too. Lilith is a really popular character from the popular Siren class and would have the moves of that class.

Ezio Auditore
Ubisoft have been in our roster since the first game. I am surprised it's taken us this long to get an Assassins Creed character. I considered one of the leads from the newera games but I still think Ubisoft would choose Ezio. He would have a stealth based moveset.

We are also 3 to 1 in favor of going on hiatus however if you discount my vote (for hiatus but kind of changing mind) & assume users who submitted recently for current job are likely in favor of continuing then we can technically be considered 2 to 2.

Sorry about going back & forth about this but difficult to find out what to do when jobs arent getting that much activity. Think ive got a compromise to get us to the end.

That all being said here is my thinking, feel like we have a good set of newcomers for our current job & i will be more patient with final character nominees until we have a solid number of choices & have an idea on getting us through other jobs

Kind of an inbetween situation with our 4th party deal with the character debuting in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Original was Xbox console exclusive & left a big legacy even seeing many re-releases & a possible remake. Havent played the game yet but know this is a very popular character from it. Thought about Indiana Jones too with that upcoming game being developed by a Microsoft Studio but Star Wars is bigger & has a much stronger legacy in gaming.

Platforms would randomly appear & disappear as rips in background show iconic locations from series.

Takes place on the rooftops of the city of Venice. You fight on the rooftops with the canal below. There's a wooden bridge between rooftops which can be broken to send fighters below. There's a boat you can stand on and a haystack you can jump into.

Seems like a popular character from a more recent game. She'll use her twin blades to deliver multiple strikes.

Moxxi's
A bar that appears across the Borderlands series, owned by fan favourite character Made Moxxi. You fight inside club, in front of the bar. There are a few tables that act as platforms and some cages that can be knocked down and will drop items. Characters from across the series cameo.

Tiny Tina
A character who was popular enough to get her own spin off game. She'll pull out a cartoon stick of Dynamite and throw it across the stage.

Meowscles
He will pose and then do a piledriver, slamming the opponent down.

Character Name: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Character... origin?: CES 2001 Event but then also WWE

This final fighter is in a particularly interesting state. Xbox Legends ClimaX would have been released in the 20th year of the Xbox brand, and I think choosing a character to truly celebrate that would be an interesting choice - one that works well for historical importance, modern relevance, and as a "literally WHAT" pick that I think would get people talking, all while having an interesting history of their own in the video game space both directly and indirectly.

I'd imagine he's also in a good spot when it comes to a moveset. While a lot of his cultural exposure nowadays comes from his various action films (and you could totally take a Johnny Cage approach of dialing the showbiz element up to eleven), his history in the WWE would also lend to a pretty neat moveset based on wrestling and the like. Taking a slightly dialed-up, silly approach - like giving his CES 2001 outfit a huge WWE belt over the jacket and just having him fight in that - would probably help him keep up with some of the more eclectic picks in the roster.

So... yeah. While I wouldn't say The Rock's in the same state as characters like Spider-Man when it comes to being "unmistakably associated with video games" as a whole, his connection to the Xbox brand specifically perhaps lends some creedence to his inclusion. (And that's not even getting into WWE's history in the video game space as a whole.)

...I totally understand if you wouldn't want a real celebrity in the roster, though - I've got a few issues with the concept too. At the very least; this could be a fun thought exercise.
