Yup, everyone panicked.... This is how it started:

Three days ago a student at my school got in a fight with a teacher and threatned to kill her. Today this student was not here for some reason... Everyone thought he was gonna shoot the school....

People were crying and more then 150 people went home (ditched) I knew nothing was going to happen I am not afriad like everyone else....

Then they said that the Spring Fling was going to be canceled tonight.... AWWWW

There were a lot of cops today at our school...

Random people got searched (including me)

Yea at the end it was False : No Shootout... yet it shows how rumors can be VERY bad

A kid with anger manegment issues doesn't show up to school one day, so your entire school assumes that he's going to shoot the place up?

That's bad news.

My college had a bomb threat this morning. Of course nothing happened. It was probably some frat guy who didn't study for a test and wanted to get out of it. But school resumed at 6 am and nothing changed. LOL

Bahamutess, that sounds like something that happened to me in middle school.

The school got a fax that there was an exlposive concealed in one of the lockers-- but since it used the word 'explosive,' they decided not to evacuate. Because an explosive could be as big as a firecracker.

Yeah. They really care about their students.

They probably thought it would be a repeat of VA tech.
Brilliant deduction.

Next time there's a bomb threat, point out that it could just be a cherry bomb.

I know school shootings occur fairly often, but how often do schools get bombed? None come to mind. I remember being in junior high and high school and getting like 10 bomb threats on the schools where everyone would stand outside SUPER SERIOUS and the police would come in. And we weren't allowed to go home because after five hours of standing outside we'd still have to go to an all-important gym class or some ****.

Yeah, people were this buggy after the Columbine incident as well. If you even joked about guns you'd get a detention. :(

Edit: I would have ditched and gone to the movies.

Yea if we joke about guns we get detentions

EDIT: Wait a minute... yesterday we had a fire drill and an intruder drill (half day)... People say that the intruder drill was for today (just in case) ... and Teachers said they knew about this threat since yesterday

LoL @ what taco head said. I feel bad for the shooters. Because I can only imagine how much pain there going through. I mean i'm a christian so I couldn't think of killing myself because in christianity if you kill yourself you will go to hell for sure. And I don't want to go there ^_^ So to go to school shoot up everbody cause so much pain physically and emotionally; turn peoples lives apart.... And than blow your brains out? I wish the people who do school shootings and kill themselves would have known that someone does truly care about them and wants to help them.

A school shooting threat would give waaaay more seriousness than a bomb threat.

our school had a scare like that the friday before spring break (March 23) we had a lockdown, and TEra's spanish class, which normall had about 18-21 kids, had 6. Tera's Algebra class, which, to her dismay, she ghot pulled out of (she would have gotten an eisier test) had 4. (that class, however, only has about 11 anyway.)
what's up with all these shootouts.

the verdic: our edgumacational (edge-oo-ma-kay-shin-ul) system is nothing but an evil conspiracy of the government.

Sometimes we only have six people in our Spanish class but not because of threats or anything. Just a lot of ditching or field trips I guess.

school shooting is a new fad
Very sadly that this is true. Posers are everywere, and sadly school shooting and murder is no exception. Ever since that VT massacre, basically eveeryone at my school has been a little quieter and have been acting strange (myself included). plus security has been way on the rise, and probably will be for the next several weeks.

I had a lockdown a few months ago from a bomb threat. I guess the amount of bomb threats and school shooting threats have been on the rise recently, sadly as well. So many copycats want to probably do crimes that put them in the history books, and murder is the only way to do it. It isn't just sad, it is awful.

Yes school shootouts are incrediably awful, wheater it will happen or not... Because if it isnt true, people get all worried for nothing, cry their eyes out - I hate rumors like this... if one person starts it it spreads throughout the school in the first 2 periods, like it did at my school yesterday. If it is true.... well i think you know... innocent people lose their lives, and as Kamikaze falco said, their is someone who truely cares about them, and when they are about to do they shooting, they know they shouldnt, some just thing their lives are incrediably horrible, like what happened at VT

When I was in second grade, our school district had so many bomb threats that they ended the school year three weeks earlier for protection.

To Redcell: The Columbine kids hid pipebombs and other homemade explosives all around the school. Their original plan was to blow up the support to the cafeteria during lunch, causing the roof to collapse. They would then be stationed at the two exits, and just mow down the ones who ran away. If they didn't suck so much at making bombs, they probably could have killed around 200-300 people.

Also, did anyone notice how terrible those kids where? I mean, I'm bloody glad the guys who decided to go on a school shooting where terrible, but they had automatic machine guns, and they killed 13 people? ****ing 13?

In junior high, my school got consecutive bomb threats practically every day. A student would write bomb threats in the bathroom and talk about how a bomb was planted in there and that if it was touched it would be triggered.

Nobody at my school got scared, we just stayed outside for hours on end and played around. Everyone knew the bomb was a fake. Had it been a gun threat, that would have been more believable.

Wow by reading all this thread it shows alot of schools that you go to have had some kind of bomb threat or a threat of shootings. Here in Australia on the west side, there has been VERY few of those. I havent heard one of the news for atleast a year now.

I had a bomb threat at my school last year... We were all herded onto the grass outside of the school ,and told to stand there until told something. Nobody was serious at all. My spanish teacher was even playing tag with a bunch of kids in my class. Half of the school ran for it (myself included, since I didn't study for the spanish test I was going to have in a few periods). lol. I got caught and dragged back into school, but, by some miracle, I didn't get punished. When I walked into spanish class, everyone was staring at me and everything, and I said "...soooo....do I still have to take the test?" lol That ended up being a good day, I actually got a 90-something on the test.

It's too bad these happen so often, though. At my old elementary school, we had one every few days. The middle school was just across the street, and people kept leaving notes in the bathroom. They ended up catching all the kids involved, but it was pretty scary, considering I was 9 at the time.

Threats of this nature are now classified as "Terroristic action" and (obviously) gets you tried as an adult.

Threatening to kill a teacher is really serious.
Well DUH

Thats how it is down here at Florida too, but at Alonso, we at least get the heck out of the building REAL quick

Well thats because you have the Roos and your side. No terrorist is dumb enough to attack something under the protection of Kangaroos, you just dont do it
