Game and Watch main here and I'd like to say he fits in VERY well with the cast. He is the father of all video games from Nintendo. Don Game and Watch.
I totally agree!!
i'll admit some of his moves are a little odd but that's what makes him so cool like flipping bacon??
that's so awesome
that's kinda how snake'l be but he wont be so random
like it'll be awesome the way he lays land mines and shoots rockets and stuff!!!

I think Snake is a great fighting character for this game because everyone is different and unique while still being popular or remarkable gaming history.

No it won't ruin it, it'll just make Brawl that much more great. SSB is a game that has a collaboration of many different characters brought together for epic fights. As long as they have some Nintendo background then I say let them "Brawl". ^_^

One character is not going to ruin an otherwise excellent game. No matter who this one character is, cannot ruin a game like Brawl... they could have Goomba as a character... and one hit squishes/defeats him. What happens? Most people avoid him and go on with the game. This is an extreme example, but I think you get the idea. Point is - those who think he doesn't fit in likely just won't play with him/ignore him.

Though my view on it is that with an outrageous roster of the SSB series tends to sport - Snake is right at home... the absolute diversity between each character is what makes Snake fit so well. Its not how similar he is - but how different he is that makes him work.

Whats more, those who are questioning his moveset, it sounds to me like you are questioning the developers and their decisions and hard work to keep this game AS BALANCED AS POSSIBLE. Do you think they will openly throw that out the window? Believe it or not but having a unique play style is a VERY GOOD thing. It, in all likelyhood, will add a very welcomed addition to the battle scene and create a whole new way to play and compete. Are you saying change and diversity is bad? Just for sake of saying - its those who venture out who enrich our games and give us variety and new experiences. If it wasn't for experimentation - we'd all be playing platformers because no other game variants would exist.

Its characters like Snake that will help keep a fresh flow in the roster and prevent it from seeming stale. Look at someone like Pichu... he really isn't a good character... people still play AND ENJOY using him but most people just avoid him. Did he ruin Melee? Pshhh... not even close.

Sorry for this rather wordy and redundant post - I'm done now >_>

It is true what you say about Snake, But I don't think he'll ruin SSB:B. To me he's just another character to play as. Personally the only characters that can ruin Brawl for me would be if characters that did not follow the 2 rules Sakurai posted. 1: must be a character that started in a video game. 2: Must have appeared on a Nintendo Console. To name a few of the top of my head would be Naruto, Ichigo, Sephiroth, and Master Chief. They maybe good characters, but I don't want them in Brawl.

The only way to ruin Brawl is to cancel it. That, or decide that your gonna have a bunch of crap characters from anime shows (Naruto, Inyasha, Card Captor Sakura???). There was a poll on my friends website, and these characters came up at least 4 times. Why doesnt anyone mention game characters anymore. Its good to see some variety in the SSB roster. Personally, I hope they put in some random, odd, character that no-ones ever heard of, like Mr. Game and Watch, but crazier. It was great to see Mr.G&W, because you sometimes see a move, and you realise you have that game and watch game. Its great to see Nintendo never forget.
