It would give the strong characters such an advantage over the lighter ones.

At the preset 1.0 Ratio I have been killed by snakes side smash at 40%.

If you up the ratio to speed up the 3-7 minute smash game then you have snake with the ability to kill at like 20-40%.

Not a good idea in my opinion.
You probably made a horrible mistake to let that happen. 40% is an overstatement alone, but 20-40% is entirely exaggerated. Besides, if you know someone can kill you at 20% with a specific move on the edges of certain stages, you should be avoiding the situation where he can do that to you.

Increasing the damage ratio would erase Lucario, which is currently one of the few truly tournament-viable characters, from the competitive scene forever. Stick with the defaults, guys.

changing it to 1.1 would not erase Lucario. In fact its plausible that it would hurt some above him on the tier list more than him and so in comparison he would be better.

Yeah, if he can survive. Lucario's abilities depend on Aura damage increases. Although this would mean that we'd kill faster due to losing stocks... on top of that, we'd kill earlier period, with less damage. Then again...

Toon Link, Zero Suit Samus, and Peach receive a big buff from this because this opens up a few more kill options at decent percentages, which would help them greatly, as they desperately need those. Does anybody else have an idea on how the top tiers will be affected though?
