Why does everyone believe there MUST be a playable Animal Crossing character?

Seriously, guys. There's literally nothing that says there must be an AC character except for the posts by all you people that claim it.

I know I'm going to get a "There's an Animal Crossing stage!" response, so I'll say right now: So what?
There are stages based on the Smash Bros. universe. Why aren't some of the Smash Bros. exclusive characters playable?

And someone's going to say "Why would they put the world icon if there wouldn't be a character?"
Maybe because there's a stage.

An icon belongs to a character...ever character that has an icon appeared in fighting form, PC or not...

And today Resetti was revealed.

Perhaps I should have put playable in the title.
I mean playable, and hell if I care about Rosetti...

I never wanted Rosetti in the first place.

It's innevitable. The icon has to represent someone in fighting form...like every other icon does

Because this site is made for speculation so people are speculating?

I'd guess that an AC character stands a better chance than a lot of characters like Ridley, Dixie Kong or more Poekmans because there are already characters representing those franchises whereas AC doesn't have one yet.

And where's the proof for that?

It's in the pudding, and we all know Sakurai loves his pudding, so there must be a playable AC character.

It all makes sense, if you think about it.

(try not to think about it)

All over the place...It should be obvious...

BTW, I was refering to the past smashes...All icons were used by at least a fighting enemy...

Smash icon = Master Hand, Fighting Polygon Team...etc. They USE the icon...

So, most likely...Unless the Animal Crossing universe is some kind of new threat (As fighting NPC's)...Then they will be repped

Simple proof. Series with playable characters have icons. I you don't believe me, think about this. Mr. Wright does not have his own icon, while Knuckle Joe does. Devil doesn't have an icon, but Petey Pirahhna does. Just speculation, but it is a big clue, too.

In past smashes, there were no third-party characters, Assist Trophies, or Final Smashes.
Things can change.

@ChaosSmash: Petey has the Smash Bros. Icon.

That's irrelivent...

You know what...I don't think you can bring any point up except that you don't want or believe there will be a character using ONLY the evidence one hasn't been revealed...

I of course believe there will be because the evidence in being an icon, stage, music, and AT is overwhelming convinced me one is inevitable...and the fact every character that has an icon has at least been fighting in before

You're basing all your evidence on past games. Brawl is a new game. Besides, if all fighters, be they playable or nonplayable, have icons, why doesn't Petey?

Well your not basing your evidence off anything other than I can't prove there is going to be an AC character...No one can but Sakurai

Petey has an icon...the Smash icon...which apparently goes to anyone not playable, further prooving my point BTW..>AC stuff would most likely use the Smash icon if there wasn't a character

Ummm of course they're basing it on past games... That's the only way to speculate about the game. With your logic people can't say that Luigi and Captain Falcon are shoe-ins for brawl because they can't base their statements on past games.

...Which is STILL a safer bet than basing it on something OTHER than past games.

He's a boss, not a fighter. That doesn't prove anything either way.

You want an argument that there won't be an AC character? I'd look to the fact that they revealed the AC level BEFORE they revealed a character.

Remember they revealed Ike's level only after revealing Ike, but then again, they revealed Yoshi's level before Yoshi, but they also revealed both Ike's level and Yoshi's in the first trailer so it's hard to say what that means, if anything.

I think it's still up in the air.

I thought about it, I used to think an AC character would be a terrible idea. But honestly, after looking upon the potential, I think the AC Human has the most potential to be a playable character in Brawl. He's the main character in the game, actually does stuff like use an axe, dig, fish, etc., all that. Basically perfect for a fighter in Brawl. Whether you dislike him or not, he would be the best choice fighter-wise for Brawl.

Well, they don't now do they...All except Animal Crossing apparently...

Now THAT is absurd

Why should Animal Crossing be the only world worthy of an icon?
'cause it has a stage. Would it make any sense at all to make an Animal Crossing stage and put the Smash Bros. World Symbol on it?

...and there aren't stages with the Smash icon? Of course they could. Why not make icons for everyone that has an AT? Because their franchises aren't repped by a PC

But ye seem to be forgettin' somethin' laddie. All the stages with the Smash Bros. Icon are Smash Bros Stages.

The fact of the matter is there is far more evidence to support the inclusion of an Animal Crossing character than there is to debunk it. People are taking cues and hints from the amount of Animal Crossing stuff featured in Brawl( The leaf symbol, The stage, music, assist trophy, and even an item). It's really not that farfetched to believe that there will be an Animal Crossing character. Those people may be wrong in the end, who knows, but the claims of an AC character aren't outlandish by any means.

Well, they ALL are Smash Bros stages, now aren't they? I suppose everything that has the Smash icon only exist in the Smash universe and aren't in any other game...

...Wait, what about Devil or Dr. Wright?

If there was only a stage it would still most likely get the Smash icon only

people....this is ********. You people need to use common sence sometimes

Devil and Dr.Wright do not have a symbol because there is no stage or charater representing that game/franchise, but Knuckle Joe has an icon because, HELLO, Kirby is in the game + there is a stage!

Animal Crossing symbol is there because all stages require a symbol and of course they HAVE to use the AC symbol because it is from Animal Crossing, not smash bros. What, do you expect them to slap the Mario icon on it:laugh:????

MOST LIKELY, there will be an animal crossing charater representing the game, whether you like it or not, whether it is Animal Crosser, Tom Nook, or anybody! (And don't start a Nook War with me, I am not pro-nook or anti-nook)

Use your common sense...Stages alone don't get icons...if anything it would most likely do the same thing as the AT's and use the Smash icon. Who the hell said all stages need an icon representing their franchise if the AT's don't, or the items?

I think the TC should read this over and over again. Then try to deny what I have bolded in the above paragraph.

in Melee, when you choose a stage, you can see the icon of the stage begind the name or something (ie choose hyrule, you see the Triforce; shoose Fd, you see the smash icon). they probably put the leaf there to show when you see the word "Smashville" come up on your screen after choosing it.

Besides, all urz stagzorz r belong 2 Roy.

If there was no PC Animal Crossing character, the stage would most likely use the SMASH icon like the other unrepped series

Translated:

FAMITSU: Have you been approached to contribute Animal Forest elements for the new Smash Bros. game?

KATSUYA EGUCHI: Yes, and there is quite a funny story to it. A few months after E3 2006, (Masahiro Sakurai) contacted me and asked if I'd like to develop possible Animal Forest ideas for Smash Bros. Originally, we settled on just a quick, simple Animal Forest item, but with the success of Wild World and the Animal Forest film, he asked if I'd be up for designing additional elements. [Laughs] Fast forward a few months and I had stage and character concepts created. Sakurai chose his favorite of the stage concepts, slightly tweaked it to his liking, and we together decided on the final Animal Forest character, which is a very fun character to play. With both the stage and character I utilized ideas from the games. For example, if you play the stage at night, the sky will be dark. If you play in the winter, expect to see snow, and leaves in the autumn time. And yes, trees will be decorated on Christmas! It's really something else. I worked very hard on this one little stage! [Laughs] The Animal Crossing character is very much like the one in the games. You know, he will use his axe, fishing rod, bug catching net, and everything else from the games.

............they already do. Smashville already HAS the icon. Battlefield from Melee had it's own icon. EVERY STAGE REVEALED SO FAR + EVERY MELEE STAGE THAT CAME FROM A GAME has they're own icon.

Geez...... never the less there are WAYYYYYY more facts pointing to an Animal Crossing Charater than pointing aganist it.
