First off...when i saw this i would be thinking to myself

"Are you actually asking me that? why do i enjoy it?"

Is it for the simple fact thats its fun to play that we enjoy playing
it's something we can play with friends and it let's me meet new people, is it that simple?

its more deeper then that? Why?
Because i get to use my favorite nintendo characters and have them kill each other. Yet unlike other fighters such as Street Fighter and GG/BB the combos are really dynamic. The game itself may present itself as a simple no brainer, but it has so much depth when it comes to a competitive level that you'd wonder if it really IS stilll a party game The stages also arent as straight-forward as your typical traditional fighter either. Their layouts and hazards make them actually factor in how favorable a matchup can be...whether it helps the character or helps the actual player, mainly because i can play it with friends and i can play it with other people that are good not just playing it for casual reasons but just for the sake of getting better and challenging other people? but thats not the hold thing, im sure people has more stuff an feelings for the game, I wanna fine out how deep is smash, how do people really feel about the game, is it just plan "F.U.N" "F. is for friends who do stuff together, U is for U and Me, N, is for anywhere and anytime at all, down here in the smash community" or is there something more to it.

how would you feel if you were making a livein from playing melee? would it just be for the FUN then? or is it just the the community we love to much

Why are you obsessed with Spongebob? You keep using songs from it/referencing it.

ANYWAYS, I like the platforming feel of Smash. Traditional fighters are in a "box", and so character movement isn't very important. In Smash, you have great control of your character and movement is extremely important. Just look at how slow characters tend to do worse competitively.

I guess it all started back when smash 64 came out. My older brother and his friends were always playing that game and I would just watch or sometimes they would actually let me play. I loved that game, so I was obviously excited for melee coming out for gamecube. Once melee came out I was hooked and I played the hell out of it for about 1 or 2 years. Then in about 2004 I got back into it and saw that there was a community for it. Ever since I've been playing it on and off. But melee definitely has a place in my heart for one of my favorite games.
Happy new years guys!

I played the N64 version because it was kind of fun. and I liked Nintendo. It was fairly simple. it was kind of slow for my tastes, but I liked it anyways for its stage design mostly and the fresh new idea.

Melee, it was like sex, tea, crème brûlée and winning the lottery all mixed in a bag of happiness. It was everything I wanted the game to be like. Challenging, quick, responsive.

For Brawl, I don't play it. I tried it, kinda found the 1 player mode's Subspace emmisary okay, but the package as a whole was a game so bad it made me angry with myself for buying it.

Well, I play Melee because it's fun, has my favorite nintendo characters in it, it is different from other fighters, and it is challenging to become good at. I play brawl for all the same reasons except the last one.

In a regular fighting game, you're locked into a room with one other fighter. All of your talents, all of your vast knowledge of the underlying depth of the game is useless outside of that cell.

In Smash, you can take all of that power and then go platforming with it.

I have been playing Smash Bros. ever since the Nintendo 64 and I have enjoyed every second of it (MELEE FTW THO!!!). Melee specifically takes my interest because of the fast gameplay it can offer. Nintendo has done very well over the years and it was a VERY excellent idea to bring all those worlds together into one big fighting game! 1-Player mode, events, etc, doesn't interest me much, but what really wins me over is the multiplayer (especially when you meet awesome smashers who are great competition! ^_^) . If playing Melee more competitively, it requires an alert and trained mind, good reflexes, and having fun to see this game at its best. Lastly, I will add that it does indeed take SKILL to play Melee and I enjoy a challenge.

Keep smashing the world, one fight at a time! :)

The reason I love it is because of how complex reading can get.
