Sorry if this doesn't belong here. I'm still in High School (Senior), and they call my house... and my parents are conservative. But I think I will pretend to be sick maybe. Just for one day though. For sure I will be cutting all extra electives and what not. What about you guys?!
What does this have to do with anything? Do you mean you cut school to see the updates? If that is the case, then that is so sorry it's not even funny. You will see the updates eventually, you don't need to cut school for that. It's not worth it, bub.

It most likely is not going to actually be in stores on Sunday. As that is the the ship date for the game, unless there is a midnight release. This has been the same with Super Mario Galaxy. Also video games really aren't worth skipping school, especially for kids who can't skip school like me.You would get in like so much trouble. So if you feel like skipping school is necessary then do it,but I don't care.

I say go for it.
One day. Look, what's the point of the thread? You won't hurt anyone. I do it all the time. O_0

Skip the dang day, if you want. Blackadder says go for it. :)

I'm a straight A student and I've missed a few days of school where I could have gone...but yeah, my mom would laugh if I asked to skip just to play a video game. :3 I really hate that it came out on sunday, friday would have been so much better.

-I WILL wake up early that monday to play it however, I'm used to waking up early anyway.

Colleges / Universities pay for you to go to them if you do well in High school. Literally, no joke. So you can get F's and D's in Elementary and Middle school, but do very well in High school, you'll get the funds to get into higher education. So do your best to make your life easier in the future.

Most of y'all must be under 18.

There's no way you can't skip a day in COLLEGE and expect to be alright

If I get the game midnight Sunday, then I think that's plenty of time to play.
Say I get home at 12:30 and play straight the whole day. If clock hits 12:30, then I have played 24 hours straight.
Well I know I'm not gonna play 24 hours straight but if somebody did, 24 hours in one game is a lot of time.

These responses suprise me, i thought a lot more people, especially the younger ones, would be missing at least monday. I (high school), will be taking a "mental day" on monday for game time; probably not tuesday too, although it's possible.

I was planning to skip work on monday but a partner im my work will do the same and told everybody that. In our work they all know we are very good smashers and most of them know about what will happen in feb 10... so it would be obvious why we will be absent that day.

If some word gets to our superior, we can be in serious trouble...

because of this im seriously thinking about skipping...

what a shame :(

Lol. Yeah sucks. :(
Well sometimes the Gamestop over here fails. I'm not sure if they'll do a midnight opening or if they'll just release it in the morning.

I got Twilight Princess at midnight but that's because it's the same day as the Wii release.

I hope they release it at midnight. They did it for other major games. So here's wishful thinking.

Just like I said I might not play 24 hours straight so I might skip school too but I don't think my parents will let me. I'll try to come up with an excuse. But if I'm satisfied with the sunday then I won't. Or if I have too many classes on monday or I have important classes on monday then I can't. I'm just hoping that sunday will be worth it. School is just a few hours anyway might as well go.

I'm-a skip school, only once i have the game in my hands, EB Games better not give me crap about waiting an extra 2 days or anything.

And Yes, 2 days is very long, especially when you know people own Brawl and are playing it.

Well I don't work on Sunday so I don't think so, But I'm not sure that I'm going to miss work on Monday I can't decide yet. I have to soon though so I can ask for the time off if I'm going to do it. I'm having a smash party on Friday after Brawl comes out. So I might just wait and play in the afternoons when I get off work.

I make my own work schedule and do so several weeks ahead of time, so I might as well take the 10th off right?

I get the friday before half off to go to my hockey tourny in gander.
Pick up brawl on the way back, or in the town on Feb 10 at Eb games.

Yes, I plan to do something drastic on that sunday.

At the end of Feb I have a school vacation, I can wait till then. I probably won't be getting brawl until a week after it comes out anyways, since I ordered it from costco.

I'm prolly gonna skip Monday. Get the game Sunday after church then play all day then do an all-nighter. Gotta get good for the tourmeys this weekend. Got one online and one between my friends. I'm gonna win the friends one cause they don't have Wii's yet. lolz
That's exactly what I'm going to do! I MUST miss the day to play Brawl all day. I CANNOT just play it Sunday.

I've been waiting too long to just play it for 7+ hours.

My parents never let me stay home from school. The only times I have been out of school was probably in 1-3. Even if I get the flu, its back to school. They never believe me because I used to fake sick a lot and get out of school. Now, they just say " Don't lie just get ready for school." They don't even check my temperature. They can be very stressing. I never have gotten out of school for a video game. The only good side about video games is I get almost every system I want, but I really have to pay half for the system. I pay for the whole game and controls. My dad also expects me to buy him a game. I say "Ya, that game might be pretty good." He says "Why don't you buy it for us?" and I always say "No." It really gets on my nerves. He just doesn't want to have to pay for it. I wish only to stay home from school just once more, but it is only a dream. :urg:

Also, Son Saku, if you are getting the Japanese version of the game, then your better start faking ill about 2 days before you get the game. Your parents most likely will not believe you if you start the day you get the game...

The game is coming Wednesday, the 30th.
I also want to use this little vacation to relax myself from the stress of the school....after all I have high grades, some days at home shouldn't be a problem :p

Seriously.

Monday's are the absolute worst days for me to miss this semester, too. I have a 3 hour long freshman composition class. Missing one of those is like missing three days.

I can live through Monday without Smashing. XD

i won't have to worry about ditching cuz my school has Feb. 11 off due to the good old President Lincoln's b-day
maybe some of you should check your school's calender just to make sure your not ditching a day off :p
-given that you are in high school or lower and don't have a job
(not sure if colleges would get it off but i would guess not)
