Who will be the first character you master in brawl

meta knight from that list then go back to samus and pwn all and if ridley is a pc ill make a heavyweight the best character(honestly if you can use samus very well she turns out to be unstoppable)

That does not prove that she will only be available after the Final Smash. In fact, the way Zero Suit Samus is pushed into the spotlight in all sorts of updates ( screenshots, scene in the opening sequence to Subspace Emissary ) suggests that she'll be readily available in some way.
Let's not start a discussion here, just rest assured that we know nothing for sure about this subject.

i guess you can be optimistic about it but i seriously doubt that. she is put into the spot light because nintendo does't care about competetive play they figure you will have items on. they are still making this as if it were a party game after all.

Based on what i've seen so far probably charizard.

I am hoping for Meta to not be SUPER good, because I would really like to master him, but I don't want to master a broken or way over-used character.

Of all the currently confirmed characters, I would try to master Solid Snake first (I've never played any MG games, but I've heard from him, he's definetly one of the coolest looking characters and he seems like such a big exception (well, he IS third party)).
Then I would go over to Pit, I'm one of those fortunate ones that played Kid Icarus (though I'm scarred for life -> Grim Reaper still makes me cry x___x), and I hoped he would be in the game.
I'll also try out Pokemon trainer, although I'm sure I won't play regularly with him, he seems to be such an original character, I'm just curious ^^
Metaknight was also a nice surprise and seeing he has got some quick moves, this will be my third out of the newcomers. Not really interested in Wario and ZSS but will try them out.

Of the veterans I will most likely use Link, he's probably one of the easiest characters to use, at least for me.

But from the ones seen so far, probably Pit. But my priority will be MOTHER.
