Heh, I can relate... Pretty much all I listen to is 80s, early 90s, and some 60s and 70s music. And yet, I like all the technology we have in this age.

um, if you were born in the 80's, you would probably remember 90's music the most. think about it :O

Yes, I was born in the 80s and I was four at best.

I think I would rather have been born in the future. But this time period wasn't so bad, I've come after a lot of major advances and should last through a lot more. But even being born fifty years later would be way cooler. Not that I'd appreciate it, but whatever.

This is odd. I've actually thought about it and decided myself

I feel like I should have been born in the 60s, to be a counter-culture, LSD using hippie

I feel I would be better in the future, I love anything tech wise and although we are progressing well now I feel that 20 years from now I'd be in heaven.

EZ$: no matter when you're born, you're going to die someday. I don't think thats a question of when you're born, but how you live your life :)

I think I was born at a good time. I was born in 1994 so I really don't know anything different than what we have now.

I would've liked to have been born in the 70s or 80s. The times seemed... fresher, maybe? I don't know, I would've picked one of those decades over the 90s.

As long as I'm on the subject, I think I was born a year late. I feel as if I'm not the age I really am. Plus I hang out with a lot more people older then me, probably more so then people my age or younger. Meh.

By the way, JonBeBonanza, I like your sig.

Well there are multiple solutions. One is never being born in the first place which obviously won't work now. Be born when any form of immortality is possible (ie. putting your mind in a machine, rebirth, actual immortality) or be born in a period in which therapy is more helpful.

Hm, I see what I did there. I didn't mean it the way you took it. I guess, based on my age and the age of those I'm with, I just don't feel as most others my age would, or should, feel.

Yup, that's the right way to say it.

(really not trying to sound like a ****) Why would you base your theory of being born in the "wrong" time period solely on contemporary music?

It's just a comment meaning a person likes things from the 80s (or whatever time period), not literally that they were born in the "wrong" period.

But still, you can like things from a time period and still experience them today. It's really about whether you want to experience certain cultural movements when they're happening. The problem is that the people who talk about wanting to be born in the past are thinking they want to be involved in these cultural movements like being a hippie, or being an early punk kid. But really, logically, if they themselves were simply born earlier, they would probably have the same stance. They wouldn't be looking at the movements of that time period. They'd be looking even earlier. There would be hippies but they'd think they should've been born in the 50s so they could become a Teddy Boy.

I'm not making much sense, I know. But basically what I'm saying is it's not about the things. It's about the cultural movements. And the only way to be one of those people in any time period is just... to be one of those people. There are plenty of really cool cultural movements going on right now. Just figure out what they are and throw yourself in there. Don't emulate the past just cause you want to be hip. Because that in itself isn't so hip. Well, it's usually not so hip.

What on earth are you talking about? You're reading too much into this!

Just state which time period you would like to have been born in and why!

...To be honest, i like the time period i was born in. I quite like the fact how we have all these electronic gadgets and back in the 70's and/or 80's there was hardly nothing. Just take a look around and see how things have evolved over time..It's actually quite mindblowing!?

I feel like I should have been born in the 1880's

I don't know why.
thats a first, and im also guessing its not a typo? lol

but i know im not the only one to have thought this at some time, but has anyone ever thought of going back in time with like $1,000 and buying like ALOT of stuff, cause you know how in the days things were like 5 cents, and everything was for cheap, idk.

has anyone else thought that?

I'm just saying that the people who talk about this kind of thing are usually the ones who want to be the "hipsters" of a certain time period. But how could they be? Since they're not hipsters now.

You can't be hip if you ain't hip.

But you'd have to bring back money that was minted before the date to which you travel. I think about stuff like that all the time. =/ For me, its more like Back to the Future... grabbing a bunch of books on "An In Depth History of the Stock Market", and then going back in time and cashing in on all the monies.

=/ theres something wrong with me
