Whistling out of Tornado

Fino asked me to ask Brood about using the whistle to avoid the last hit of the tornado, thus making it counterable in some situations. So i had a chat to Brood, and the answer is actually surprisingly simple.

Mash down-B continuously

But here's the catch and probably where people miss it. It depends on how fast MK is pressing B. If he's mashing the B button, it can't happen. If he's pressing the B button sometimes, you should be able to get it.

I played around with it quickly and this seemed to work fairly consistently. MK can't always press B too much otherwise he'll rise too high off the ground, in which case, mash down-B and you should whistle the last hit. Otherwise, you're kinda outta luck.

That being said, MK's tornado is kinda uncounterable 90% of the time if the last hit connects. So once the MKs catch on, this won't be overly useful. Still, much better than nothing. Hope it proves useful.

Oh, and I saved the conversation we had in a txt file just in case I needed to look at it again. The Japanese was a little complicated, but I'm positive I understood what he was saying correctly. But I have it if anyone doesn't believe me or something O_o

Yeah I tested it out some last weekend and could pull it off regularly but did notice I couldn't do it if the MK was tornadoing up rapidly, or if he was pulling too much to the side, pulling away from us. Perhaps we have to be in a certain section of the tornado at a certain time for it to work.

I tried it and I fell Nairing the nado is easier, or u can DI above it then whistle the top left/right of it (if the gaydo is movin to the left, try and whistle the top right of it as to not get caught by the nado again, and vice versa) then punish once the nado finishes (Usmash or something like that)

You don't have the option do to one over the other. You can whistle the nado if you're on the side of it, but you have to be above and out of nado to nair through it.

After playing domo, I think the best option is just to always try to tether it, cause your control stick will be up it'll auto-TDI the first hit enough for you to jump/footstool out (depending if they immediately start rising as soon as you're caught). If you got caught in it, whistle / nair are your best options, choose the one that works on where you're at in the nado.

Jesus Christ,now that would help me against MK...

If you escape the last hit you could actually try to punish MK,because if I recall correctly only the last hit gives some real knockback,the other ones don't push you too far away,so a punishment should be no problem... even better if he tornado's you in the air,so until he hits the ground after that you should be able to do at least an aerial,but if you come down faster,even a DSmash should be used... Amirite?
