MMO's are certainly destructive and somewhat life-changing.
This is coming from a guy who has a lvl 121 character in Runescape. I broke free of the addiction partly thanks to Brawl, though.

Sad and pathetic. I'm glad I quit mmo's. That sht makes you crazy. I would come home from school, jump on computer, eat, go back to computer, sleep, wake up, repeat. I'd play for about 6 hours a day.

MMO's have never really been me strong point. WoW was ok, just not ok enough to warrant spending £15 a month on it.

But generally I'm surprised she was arrested for this, if you're going to get arrested for terrorizing your ex, then make sure it's something cool. Put their pet rabbit in a boiling pan or something, don't make it something crappy like hacking their Mapple Story account.
