I may be wrong, but I think we will not have a "new" character reveal till next month. We might see a veteran and some stage information, but I highly doubt they will talk about newcomers. We still have a while to go before 2014, and we do not even know when the game is coming out. It could be Q4 of 2014 for all we know. I

Brawl was launched about eight months after the Dojo started it's daily updates, after being postponed a couple of months. Smash 4 is set to launch somewhere in 2014, with not date yet.
During Brawl's development, there were generally about four character revealed every month until the three month drought at the end of 2007 (which I assume is because of the postponing of Brawl).
We are spoiled a little bit at this point with 12 characters already, as opposed to Brawl's 8 on reveal.

Honestly, this image posting thing got me so un-hyped. I remember being amazed by the Brawl updates everyday waking up and checking the site. Now it's like repost after repost of the smashbros site. Hopefully it will become new stuff soon.

Daily photos every weekday afternoon (Japan time) have already started. As for major updates it could be awhile. The gap between the first Brawl trailer at E3 06 and Nintendo World 06 was about 6 months and the gap between the first new characters shown in the Brawl trailer and the first new characters shown on the Dojo website was about 15 months.

Every couple of years Nintendo has their own event in October/November to show off games too. Yeah, I thought so.

I doubt that they'll keep us in the dark until October for Smash, though, particularly after seeing how many relatively in-depth interviews Sakurai gave at E3.

Well Wonderful 101 is coming September but that's besides the point. I'm sure they'll have some Nintendo Directs before that and might reveal some info then. But October we might get another trailer with a new character or two. As for Nintendo Directs before, I think we could get info but not new characters. Maybe returning veterans but that's it. We are getting daily pics too so we might get some veterans from that as well.

Hopefully we'll get tossed a few bones over the coming weeks at least returning characters and stages. See how our favorites are going to look in glorious HD so I can drool over my monitor lol. I would also love to hear more on the different modes in the game single player, event matches etc.... There's lots they can toss our way to keep us informed without giving everything away.
