when do you c-stick?

As the title implies, when do you use the c-stick for aerials and for which aerials? I find myself using the A button more and more now because you can attack fast since the button is closer to Y/X. I think the only way to perform a SH double fair is with the A button, but what about other situations such as mid-air combos (esp the fair to dair) or juggling with uair? I want to get out of the habit of using the c-stick because it is so far away from Y/X, but I'm just wondering if there are times where it may be beneficial to actually go ahead and use it for the sake of accuracy (since its easier and you're pretty much guaranteed to pull off an aerial with the c-stick but its a lot slower compared to using the A button). Any thoughts?

I usually use the C stick when I jump backwards while using a fair at the same time. As for aerial comboes, I would say that as long as DI isn't a major factor u should use the A button to do fairs. The only time u should use the C stick is for uairs and dairs.

Falling up aerials are a lot easier with the c-stick. Basically I use the c-stick for aerials whenever I want to DI in a different direction. It's what most people do.

You can still do the double fair with the c-stick and it's actually worth practicing. It allows you to retreat while doing double fairs or DI in order to sweetspot your attack.

The c-stick doesn't have to be slower than the A button. You simply move your hand to the c-stick before you leave the ground from your jump. Sure, you have to have fast fingers, but it could be done. You could also move your other hand to the c-stick to preform your move.

I use it for Uair. When you are doing some combos, you need to fast fall after the Uair so to cancel, if you move the stick so to do the Uair with the A, you can't fast fall at the same time, so if you use the c-stick for the Uair, you can do that.
Also as other people said, it can be usefull, when jumping backwards and doing a Fair, or jumping foward and a Bair.

I use a lot the stick for Smash attacks.

Perhaps using marth has slowed down your fingers? Many high level players use c-stick quite a lot. I, for instance, can double fair in a short hop with c-stick. Why is c-stick better than A? I can tip my fairs with c-stick, whereas I may tip or I may not with A because I have to move the joystick forward. Marth is all about location, location, location.... err I mean spacing :)

Besides fairs, C-stick is useful for the ken combo (jump to dair).

It's optional, but c-stick might be less reliable than A for attacking from the ledge with a fair or uair or dair. Sometimes I use the c-stick, sometimes I use A.

Oh yes, and make sure you use C-stick a lot for smashes... and if playing one handed, you can use the C-stick to roll while holding R, and I believe sidestepping works as well. uhh that's all that comes to mind right now.

I think it depends on how comfortable you are and maybe a little with reflexes and mindgames if i know for a fact that the attack will hit then I c-stick it up but when im going against my friends falcon i used the a button a lot more.

Meh, I should probably add, sometimes I do use A and (sometimes) when I SHDFair, I use A, then Z, but that's rare. Mainly, it's A, c-stick, or A+c-stick.

I use Cstick for almost every aerial other than DBLFair, it helps my spacing and timing a great amount (I have a tendency to use the A button as soon as I leave the ground, usually with Nairs for safety and DBLFair for timing), but Cstick is needed for defensive Fairs and other retreat moves.

All smashes with A, unless I'm bored and messing with the Fsmash for spamming.
