Depending on the character.
I mean to ask what's the best to do on every character in the combo shine-wavedash-????

IE waveshine on marth should be a grab almost always,
fox/falco should be a jab reset (at lowish %)

vs peach should it be usmash or grab? i would usually grab but since uthrow uair doesn't work on her..

Seriously, there's already been numerous instances of this question, use the search function.

Eh, whatever. Peach, you should usmash because she can either nair you out of you u-air unless you super space it or trade hits.

Go read the U-throw-uair thread by RaynEX
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=233453

It'll let you know where uthrow combo's would work and werent it might not be as reliable.

Read this too, it's some good sh*t by RaynEX, you can find it in the shine->usmash thread

You can dair, waveshine, usmash opponents who fall from the shine if you have enough momentum. (While they are sliding on the ground)

Dtilt ftilt, and even nair work in this same fashion. Dair, waveshine, SH nair (tip of nair hits and pops them up). Grab?

If you want to catch ICs or Luigi with waveshine combos there are a few things you can do. Mind you, they aren't legit combos, but they might work.

-shine JC illusion->aerial. Don't do this vs. ICs. If you miss one of them you're ****ed.

-waveshine, run in close and shield. Wait for something and shieldgrab. If they don't throw out a move, jump and do another aerial and continue pushing them off the stage. Once those low traction *****es get thrown off the stage its done.

-waveshine->dtilt. If you max range the dtilt it sometimes catches them or goes under the shield. This works alot better at low/mid percents where uair will combo afterwards.

-waveshine->fullhop aerial. Assuming they don't crouchcancel and get hit, or they are in shield, this is a relatively safe followup. (Shine protects your ***)

If they get smart and try to CC or jump and hit you out of your Fullhop:

you've now just trained them to expect a certain follow-up. Mix up time.

-shine->turnaround->wavedash backwards. This is best used near an edge, when the shine doesn't knock them off the stage. If it does, forget the turnaround and run off and shine again. If not, this helps you quickly get your back turned and lets you zone them with bair. It has enough priority and range to rack up damage and/or knock them off. Shine/buffer rolls to protect you if you miss any of your spaced bairs.

These probably aren't as useful as I thought but once I started typing it was hard to stop.
Thunder's doesnt work anymore nowadays since everyone SDI's that jab reset sh*t

Just search man, everything already been discussed about this topic

I like to try a shffl dair into another waveshine and also you can always nair out of waveshine to set up a shffl nair combo. These two things work on like everybody or atleast almost everybody.

If you're trying to drillshine nair Marth or Peach players, more often than not you'll get CCed for that combo attempt and take huge damage. Don't nair mid combo unless they are already airborne. Its usually better to continue perfect strings with dair so d.i. and knockback properties on moves don't **** up your combos as much.

But RaynEX, isn't it impossible for the Marth/Peach to CC when they're in the stun of the shine? Like they could DI but not CC.

Hitting them with nair cancels out the shine's hitstun and introduces the nair's own effects. Your opponent CCs the nair and still gets you. So in actuality, they can both smash d.i. and CC at the same time. Its so silly.

Diddy would be crazy if he was in Melee :D

I'd still want Dedede more though.

Also, coolest thing for waveshining is to shine -> turnaround -> wavedash -> shine -> etc vs like zelda/peach/link imo. Too bad I suck at it

Shine B-air or shine up smash are epic too if you hit them with the shine while they're in the air.

I may not be any good at playing fox or even this game but even I know that answer to that :D

It's a taunt.

You shine, then you wavedash forward to them and taunt. It'll totally mess em up, even if you get punished for it.

They'll be like "zomg, this dude just wavetaunted me.. Even if I win this match I'll look bad cuz I can't top that"

Then again, if it's fox dittos the match may just become a competition to see who gets more wavetaunts in.
