Those codes turned Brawl into a good game.
That was great.

I would, but for some reason my Wii doesn't like the Homebrew Channel; it was clicking and freezing after we loaded the codes :(.

But WOW that was an amazing video. Brawl+ looks so fun...

Yeah, check out the support thread or go to the Brawl+ FAQ and log into the IRC. I got mine up and running in less than 5 minutes and I'm sure we would be able to get you going too.

The only thing I ever notice any different about Brawl+ is the hitstun... which is ********, imo. You pretty much just eliminate 85% of all of Brawl's defensive option, and consider it an entirely new game.
Thats why I like codes like Melee Airdodge, otherwise its just Brawl with more guaranteed follow-ups.

I liked this vid though, mainly the Diddy combos were pretty cool.

The combos seem kinda...broken lol but then again I can't tell where just the hitstun ends and where the failure of the player to react/DI correctly begins.

The hitstun is now at only an increase of around 8% for most codesets which is not that large at all. Also, the newer codesets (the one I used in this video is a bit outdated) are faster with higher gravity, modified shorthops, dash speed, dash dancing window changes, different launch speeds and soon specific character balance changes. Additionally, do not forget how critical auto-L-cancelling is, no autosweetspot on the ledges, hitlag reduction, and more. It seems to me that you havent seen much and are prolly misinformed on what the codes actually do.

And to Blank, keep your MAD/HAD posts out of this thread please, you already know plenty is different without it.

Edit:

Also, the DI in these clips is pretty good, but more often or not, we were caught in these combos expecting a different approach or were inescapable. The game isn't broken though, in fact, it feels tremendously more balanced than vanilla Brawl.

That was a really cool video, but I have a couple of questions: what's the triple jump glitch and is Warioware hacked?

I can't remember what the triple jump glitch is, but I can tell you that yes, Warioware is affected in that this codeset freezes the stage, preventing it from changing into the minigames and keeping it just as a small, boxy level with dynamic platforms. Bottom line: I dig.

That vid really makes me want to try Brawl+ lol.
Do it! Takes like 5 minutes to set up and then its too fun! Then you can play vanilla or B+ whenever you want (but I honestly can say I'll never play vanilla again)

And popo, the triple jump glitch is a weird glitch affecting a bunch of the cast where if you do certain actions, you can't use your up+B again until someone hits you even if you got back on the stage. We have a 1 line code which fixes that bug.

Doesn't it defeat the technical skill involved in L-cancelling if the game does it automatically for you..?

Although this is kinda cool, but how does it affect tethers..?

just wondering...
We decided as a group that L-cancelling is nothing more than a reflex, (I know when I played Brawl for a long time I was still trying to L cancel for a few months due to pure habit) and that hitting it is not a skill that is missed during high level play.

Tethers work fine with no autosweetspot ledges. Its just the rest of the cast needs to aim their up+b's much much better to be able to grab and not go over. Try it out and I'm sure you'll like it!

Good video, I've played Brawl+ and it's pretty fun. Worst part about is the knockback you receive when in shield from get-up attacks and other such things. It makes for little to no follow up options.

That and no shielding while dash dancing. Looking forward to the finished product though.

Once again, good vid... albeit a bit outdated <_<;

You might have your shieldstun set too high. Try out 11/22/5 and you should be fine. Also, they are going to fix the shielding during dash dancing bit too.

And yes I know this codeset was slightly outdated (in terms of gravity speed and SH and hitstun), but don't worry, expect a much much faster more awesome video soon enough :D

The settings right now that I use are pretty different, but feel pretty awesome. Its a BETA set being used currently. If you wait another day or so, these values should be ironed out a bit more and I'll PM you the new set!
