Maybe because I like Brawl more than Melee?

From your point of view, Brawl is not an option. From MY point of view, Melee is not an option.

I'm seeking attention? Wow, I don't recall giving an honest opinion being "attention seeking." According to what I picked on your lacking poll, I will stick with SSB4 regardless.

If I truly ended up not liking SSB4, which I highly doubt will happen, I'd go back to Brawl before I ever went to Melee. Surely, that doesn't that bother you?
That's incredibly silly, i'm not adding that option. If SSB4 fails competitively, THEN IT WILL BE LIKE BRAWL, and if you are a Brawl fan, why wouldn't you like it if it was like Brawl?

I mean, I can't believe you actually said that. I hate to say this (and please nobody say "NO IT ISNT BRAWL 2.0 ITS ORIGINAL because if heard that enough" but SSB4 is kind of Brawl 2.0, so I have no idea why in the world someone would want to go back to Brawl.

If you want to go back to Brawl, go ahead, but I don't know what competitive scene you will find there because they will all migrate to SSB4 even if it's competitive on a level like Brawl.

Brawl has tripping and :snake:, that's good enought to me. But why no 64?

I will continue to play whichever game I please, whenever I please, and in whatever manner I please.

The thing that matters the most to me is the online. If it has decent online, then I will play it and and do my best to improve regardless of competitive success.

Why would anyone want tripping?

Because 64 is kind of outdated and even I play 64 from time to time, but it's not the main smash game I go back to.

So you admit that bias is why you didn't add the most balanced game in the series?

But the poll isn't about you, you're asking other people.

Give me a good reason to add it, and tripping is not a good reason.

Also Snake, hasn't been disconfirmed for SSB4 yet.

I can't believe i'm having this conversation.

I have no doubt that I'll continue to play it with friends and enjoy it, maybe even play the online some. If the single player is fun, I might go for unlocking all the trophies and such as well.

For my competitive drive, though, I'll play Melee and PM.

Also 64 is awesome... if there were tournaments in my area for it I would totally start playing it more (I load it up for fun every now and then already).

Edit: Also 64 (also PM if you want to count that) is far more balanced than Brawl... Brawl is not the most balanced game in the series.

The options here sound forced:

  1. I'll just keep playing it, i'm casual.
  2. I'll go back to Melee.
  3. I'll go back to Project M.
  4. I'll quit playing Smash entirely.
  5. I'll play it competitively even if it has serious flaws.
There should a 6th option, I just like playing Smash.

I was talking about smash 64, not brawl
Smash 64 is great, but uhh... who would go back to that as their main game besides Isai? I play it from time to time, as I said, it's still really fun, but as a main smash game, I find it outdated, and I thought other people would too, so that's why I didn't add it -.-

Option 1 or 5 fits your case.

Lol people shouldn't have to convince you to add 64/Brawl as options when they are obviously viable options. There's a clear agenda going on, but you could easily solve the problem by making one of the options "I'll go back to a previous iteration of smash."

It's the series' most balanced game, this pole isn't just about you.

That is the thing though. What may be considered a flaw to some would not hinder the experience of others.

Option 1 doesn't work either because I play Melee and Project M competitively with my buddies.

Though I also like playing Smash.

If you could pick multiple options I think the problem with the poll would be solved. 1, 2, and 3 all apply to me. (I'll keep playing it casually, but play Project M and Melee both competitively.)

Option 5 fits you then. You don't care if Smash 4 has competitive problems, you'll still play it.

It isn't and that's why I asked others. I didn't expect a bunch of people to whine that there is no Brawl or 64 when i'd assume that players of those games don't care how SSB4 stands up competitively.

I'd add SSB64 to the poll if I could, but not Brawl, that's incredibly silly and one-sided.

----

I mean seriously guys, im sick of replying to all this, vote or don't vote, if you don't think the poll has enough options.

That is the thing though. Even if it is not completely competitive I would not find that as a serious flaw. No options on this poll fit me and my perspective.

Then you're either inconsiderate or ignorant or both. Assuming that competitive players other than that of Melee or PM don't care about the next Smash, especially considering the amount of overlapping in the communities, is absurd.

You don't have to find it as a flaw.

I'd think that people of Brawl and 64 would LIKE the new smash whether it's competitive or not.

---

Can we just stop arguing about poll options? If you want to add Brawl and 64, go make your own thread, sick of replying to these posts, and no, i'm not biased, I just THOUGHT that people who liked Brawl wouldn't care how SSB4 stood up competitively.

Seriously, an easier poll would've been

1. Doesn't matter, I'll still play it.
2. I'll go back to an earlier iteration of Smash.
3. I'll play both old and new.
4. I'm done with the series.

____

Your question is if it fails competitively. We already know where other versions of smash stands competitively, you don't have to make an option for each game.

People still play Brawl competitively, so no, it's not silly to imagine they would go back to it if they wanted.

For the last time! I can't change the poll options! Quit complaining about it.

If you want them changed, go ask a mod to do it.
