What type battery does Pokemon Sapphire use?

Would it run on the same type of battery that GSC had?

I have a copy of Crystal, but when I save and turn off the game, my file auto-deletes and I'm stuck starting over every time. I'd like to know how to fix whatever is going on.

my ruby version's internal battery ran dry. time-based events don't work anymore. i don't know if it's in the same principle as what you're dealing with...but i was just throwing it out there.

My sapphire's internal battery ran dry...I'm in the same boat as you guys. I think mine may have been from leaving it in hot cars.

uhhhh, i should know since i use gameboy carts to make music

mine is gonna die soon, i can feel it, and that means all my songs = dead/gone

but i don't know forsure
