What to do against Link?

Hey all,
I've recently picked up Sheik and I'm thinking of turning it into my main. (Kinda already decided though)
Anyways, today I played against my friends and I just couldn't beat my friends Link :/ He's one of that projectile spammer kind.
I can't really get close to him... I think I'm just rushing too much and should play patiently? But well, does anyone have some tips to this matter.

Well actually.. Sheik has a VERY good Link matchup.

First of all, if they're spamming projectiles, so should you. Needles cancel out the boomerang and bombs.

Link falls at medium speed, making him easy to combo, and incredibly easy to Chainthrow. You can chainthrow from 0 to 80-90% depending on their DI, then finish with an upsmash or ftilt into an aerial or however you want to start your combo.

Read the Sheik guide at the top of the page. There's a character specific guide with a Link matchup section which goes into better detail.

You don't need to CG to beat Link. So rather than have your friend quit before you even learn any advanced techniques (and from what you said I imagine you haven't learned any consistently yet). Just spam your own projectiles and do grab combos (dthrow, ftilt, w/e).

Actually, I do xD. I'm just really new to Sheik. (Started playing her last Sunday)
Anyway I played him again today and it went better than before. I haven't use these tips yet, but yeah I'll try.

Arc is right though. Nothing pisses friends off like finding CG before they know about DI and other advanced tactics. I wasn't allowed to use Shiek vs most characters for at least a year....sad

Just a question. I just tried to chaingrab a lvl 1 CPU Link and I could barely chaingrab him. Is this because I'm doing it the wrong way or is this because I'm playing PAL-version? Just thought I'll ask...

seems to work lol just go into the match with confidence even a half good sheik and **** a well played link if you play it right

Yeah... I realised I played pretty stupid when playing him last time. Next time I'll **** him.

I main Link and I can tell you that, generally, Sheik can ****. She's my GF's main. depending on the stage, you can stay out of range, charge and store your needles, and if you hit with them you can combo Link to death.

Also:
Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > Dash A > ^Smash > Fair > Win

I finally found out why I can't chain grab...

"Down throw has a more horizontal send, making it impossible to chain grab or directly follow up if the opponent DIs away from Sheik. "

So, well, yes.

chaingrab and shiek is much quicker that link once he has like 80 percent chainthrow into a shffle fair

I never really had any problems against link. He kind of annoys me because I'm not used to playing against him (hardly anybody uses him) but I usually figure him out by the second stock or so.

actually even if link di s around 20 damge u can still chain grab till about 80 or 90 just got to guess which way hes gona di
